Fair enough, I'll bow to your superior knowledge. Clearly the talent is there and the results were bearing it out until recently. As bad as Derry were in Tallaght, I thought McNamee was a class above anyone and his move to midfield was a really shrewd move on Devine's part. Somebody needs to teach the man how to tackle though.

Baraclough has lost the dressing room (no, making a joke about it being under the stand isn't funny) and we won't be winning anything this year. Hopefully we can turn things around with a new man in charge for next season. Need a bit of a clear-out of players too.

How do you lose a dressing room as champions having spent the first third of the season looking invincible?

They didn't look invincible in the first third of the season. Despite their run of scrappy wins, it was obvious something was amiss. Lots of their own fans said so at the time.

Lack of discipline from IB too, meaning players don't have to respect him like they should. And as Sheridan said we were never invincible, winning games without ever playing well.

McNamee hasn't started in about six weeks too. His form had dipped somewhat in fairness, but nobody's playing well at the moment.

It was hard to believe how poor Derry were on Friday. No fight in them at all, even with 15 minutes left they looked like they had given up on the match.

Friday was the nadir but the rot has been there for a while, particularly at the Brandywell.

I think a little bit of an over reaction surely? Sligo were the better side for most of the first half, we just scored a wonder goal. Now the second half was a different story, and the result was completely fair, but you're only 6 points behind us, with a game in hand. You will need to go on a winning run of matches, but Europe at the very least is still there, not to mention the FAI Cup.

Mind you, you weren't really that good upfront on Friday, I think possibly only two goal scoring chances all evening.

Sligoman's comment about Barraclough losing the dressing room is bovine excreta. The problem, if there is one, is Stevens and the pre-season was too intense (same problem at Shams). Feck all wrong with us if we could get North on the pitch for 90 mins. Still expect us to finish , at worst, second.

What exactly does this mean?

North is so far away from being fit to do 90 minutes it's a disgrace as a professional footballer. It's a pity he wouldn't show a bit of respect for himself as a supposed athlete if nothing else. I'd say he'll end up at Shams next season.

Sligo trying to show chaos in their team so we can write them off lol.

Sligo could easily go on a run from now until the end of the season winning all of their games

I think anyone who has seen us play all season is perfectly in their right mind when they say we won't win it. It'll need to take a huge upturn in form to even catch Dundalk let alone Pats.

What exactly does this mean? You've answered part of your question here:

North is so far away from being fit to do 90 minutes it's a disgrace as a professional footballer. It's a pity he wouldn't show a bit of respect for himself as a supposed athlete if nothing else.North is being allowed to get away with being that unfit, this comes down to a lack of discipline from management. Yes North should care enough for his own career to get himself fit but when he doesn't, it comes down to the management team.

But that's not the only problem and avvenalaf you can choose to ignore it if you want but I won't be happy with winning nothing this season and giving up the league so easily.

Fair enough but North is contracted to the end of the season and has obviously decided long ago just to bleed the club dry. He made comments recently that he was playing with bad hamstrings as if he was a martyr for the cause. I haven't played even a five a side for over a year and still my gut isn't anywhere close to his. Not sure what options Baraclough really had in terms of disciplining him even if he wanted to. I would say that the kind of attitude shown by North as a supposedly senior figure in the squad can only have been damaging in terms of the example it set to others.
