Just downloaded the game yesterday, haven't started playing it yet just been scanning around so far.
I like the way you can specify what type of ownership can be put in place at a club, don't remember that before. Also I see in the Football League in England, a salary cap is now in the game, I haven't seen yet in the editor if this can be introduced in Ireland.

Can someone please tell me how to get the USL, LSL and MSL leagues working in the game? It's really annoying me. I've tried activating them in the Editor but there is an Irish 2nd Division above those Leagues that has no teams in it so it won't let me activate it.

Any one able to help? Thought I had it there with a download from the Steam Workshop but it doesn't work right. It's doing my head in!

Check www.fmformation.com. A great online forum for FM. They'll be able to help no problem there, always my first stop for questions on FM.

If you search Irish Football Manager on Facebook, I think he had one up last week or two for download.

Anyone mess around and design their own update for this?

See Nigel's post. The FM researcher posts unofficial updates that are pretty much bang up to date, as he needs to keep on top of it.

Am I the only one who gets a tinge of sadness every time I see a promising young Irish player get released in FM?
On a side note, Damien Duff's just been released by Fulham. I'll let you know if he comes to Rovers or ends up in MLS/lower leagues.

duff and keane always seem to end up at dundalk on my fm saves

Never seen Keane return to Ireland but I've seen Duff at Dundalk a few times in FM13.

in my last game keane went to dundalk then pats and then retired after playing for sligo
while duff had 2 seasons with dundalk and then joined town as my u19 manager

Haha yeah I've had Robbie as U19 coach a couple of times but never saw him play. Maybe he's more likely to come back in FM14.

just looked on my current save an awful lot of irish internationals ended up playing there last few years in ireland, ive currently stokes trying to break into my first team but my 2 20 year old strikers seem to be determined to keep him on the bench
Charlie Darwin
23/04/2014, 11:16 PM
Haha yeah, they seem to be a lot more likely to come to the LOI than they are in real life. Caleb Folan joined Dundalk at the start of the 2014 season in mine and a lot of lads like Stephen Hunt return when they're let go in the summer.

ah well i don't need to look for irish internationals now ive got my bored to go pro and allow me scout the world, time to go to Brazil and find some young lads that never heard of the LOI

Summer 2015 in my game now. Duff signed for me after he left Fulham but Keane was still looking for 20k so he went to Celtic instead and regained the Ireland captaincy after Dunne retired. I also got Kieren Westwood on a free, narrowly missed out on Stokes and decided not to sign up Sean St Ledger.

ive stokes at the moment, had St Ledger and he was useless also i put Stephen Ireland in the useless pile of players i had, Two of my regens have just been selected for the irish senior squad the only 2 LOI players in the Team

I have Westwood and O'Shea in the senior team, and strangely Luke Byrne is in and around the senior squad. In my 2013 I had a load of great regens, like Barry McNally who signed for Celtic for £20m and Anto Gill who Southampton snapped up for a bargain £8.75m.
You have to love how thorough they are in FM sometimes. Nowhere else in the world would you have regens coming out with names like Anto and Philly. I look forward to seeing Fabios and Martys emerging in years to come.

Dessie Dixon, sounds like a LOI legend in the making.

Hope for the Hibees yet!
Speaking of Hibs, I just realised yesterday my current Shamrock Rovers team who made the Champions League is propped up by two players from the Hamilton Accies side that relegated them: Paul George and Ziggy Gordon.

I caved. Bought it for US$12.50. Whoop!
Eh, in 3rd place in FD with Harps. A win over Longford will see me with only 3 points separating the Top 3 of them , us and Waterford. Cobh are a distant 4th.
Incidentally, Shels are rooted to 7th and Johnny Mc has been sacked to be replaced by Felix Healy.
Roddy got his marching orders the week before the World Cup Final which Russia won.

I had teams start with managers so they and Wexford were the only LOI clubs with vacancies.
Because Harps are class.
Eh, They are now. McHugh is heading to Chester next season.
I'll be moving on too I'd say.

Can you not add in updates afterwards still? Dammit.

You really need the update. Elding has had two more clubs since the original came out.

Nah, updates make a massive difference. They corrected a huge amount of mistakes with the updates. Apparently FM2015 is going to be unbelievably hugely in-depth towards Irish football, which I'm quite looking forward to. They didn't get all their research in before deadlines for FM2014. The update released around March is meant to have corrected a lot though. I haven't got it downloaded myself yet.

But I downloaded from Steam and it said it had the recent transfers etc in it. Surely I'm good to go...
Elding is playing for Cork in my version. I hadn't realised he moved to Ballinamallard last week.
EDIT: I have the version released on 11/04/14 (http://steamcommunity.com/games/231670/announcements/detail/1748828558860489098)

They only release a small number of data updates and because we play summer football, it's often out of date by the time it gets released.
The Irish researcher (https://www.facebook.com/irish.footballmanager) is constantly updating the db. He uploads releases with just the Irish stuff for people to download.
As someone said above, the Irish db is going to be significantly more researched for FM 15. Quite a bit of that data is probably in these unofficial updates too.
Someone else might be able to direct you to the latest one. I lost interest not being able to manage my own team.

I think an update from April for the LOI is grand. I'm in my second season now so it doesn't really matter tbh.
Managing Finn Harps is great craic. Why can't you manage Galway?

So after two seasons with Finn Harps where I got promoted after wining the FD. I managed to secure PD survival AND win the FAI Cup and League Cup.
I was then, despite being the most successful coach (With Sam Hegarty as my assistant) ever, unceremoniously dumped by the club after Lawles sold out to some Dutch lad and he brought in his own manager. Now to be honest, I didn't mind too much as with my success I was able to attract a some decent clubs around Europe. However, every time I get an interview It only goes as follows:
---
Board: Welcome Bonnie to [insert club name].
Bonnie: Thank you for inviting me in. Now let's get to it...
---
And then nothing. No further chats and options etc. I as a result have been unemployed for nearly a year in the game and getting interviews is now getting harder but even when I do I don't seem to be able to progress.
I can't find anything about this issue online. WTF is going on lads?
EDIT: Happened with Cliftonville here.

It goes no further than that.
I blame Sam for all of it.
