I'll take both of them as equally depressing.

Now Gilmore is gone we'll have a general election by Christmas. Labour are a joke. Always have been. Always will be.

All of the parties are a joke. The difference is, some of them get votes.

I really hope Pat the Cope Gallagher doesnt get elected, now that would be a sad day:o

Well he didn't. Marian Harkin got the last MEP seat in Ireland and Europe, 3 days after most of Europe had voted and counted. No FPTP system in these elections, the European election is a PR vote throughout Europe.

The coalition have done a good job, relative to the circumstances they were handed. But all elections come down to economics. The phrase "it's the economy, stupid" wasn't said for nothing.

I still think FG & Labour will be returned in 2016, mainly from lack of alternatives available. SF are banned from holding office by the bigger parties, FF created the current crisis and have done nothing but sit on the opposition benches for the past 3 years howling at the moon. The FG ragtag rebels on the Reform Alliance don't even know what they're looking to reform, and their only "policy" seems to be to get themselves a profile in the media and tell us what their ex-colleagues are doing wrong. Something akin to kicking an open door.

No way will labor be there in 2016. I'd go for a FG-FF coalition, its seems a perfect alliance. :p
But good to see you back Mypost, i noted your absence on the forums, a sabbatical? :D

MM hitting a bumpy patch after the locals and Euro elections with Brian Crowley's decision to join a different EU Parliament grouping. No love lost between the two of them but this was two fingers from Crowley to the party.

While I'm loving seeing FF get more bad rep, Crowley's never been anything more than a self-serving little pr*ck. I can't understand his popularity.

No fan of FF or Martin but I think it's pretty reprehensible to run on one ticket and then jump ships immediately after the election.

I agree. It's one of those times when I wish there was a recall option for voters. I wonder has he finalised his election expenses yet, and could FF refuse to make any contribution to his campaign? That might wipe the smug smile off his face.

Speaking of smug smiles. I'll never forget a community gathering back in 2005-2006 in relation to a proposed second runway at Dublin Airport. The community was neighbouring the airport and was going to be directly affected with the new flight path. The local FF politician GV Wright stood in front of the crowd with the biggest smug of a smile telling everyone just live with it, it's happening end of story. The man showed total disregard for the audience.

So I watched the Late Late last night.

If Micháel Martin is the answer, what in God's name is the question?

If Micháel Martin is the answer, what in God's name is the question?

If you suffer from a case of short term memory loss who's the best person to turn to if you want to sort out the country?

Sounds like the worst ever episode of Jeopardy!

Which, coincidentally, is where FF governments generally leave us.
