I never said they are going i said they are considering it other people at the club are trying to convince them to stay...
I am sure those players will stay and possibly one or two could be replaced with better and tbh i dont listen to club goosip.

Right, without trying to wind people up or anything, has anyone else heard the rumours of Scully and all his coaching staff leaving? anyone from the club on this can clarify? I don't even live in the city and I heard late last night, was told its pretty widespread round town. Any truth? Any thoughts? If it's bull, happy to take it down.
From my previous comment, heard tonight (in a pub in Cork) that the assistant manager Dempsey is gone?! Anything around Limerick about it or is it just a rumour?! Same guy told me Dom Foley was approached by Pike Rovers, so taking it with a good pinch of scepticism.
Edit: again, happy to take it down if it's bull

Any word on why?
Or any word on who is to replace him? Will Mick Sheils just go back to being assistant manager? Anyone from the club able to shed any light on it?

Scully still has to have talks with the club so until that is done there is no rush for an assistant manager.

No clue, I would assume as soon as possible. A few clubs tying their players down already so we need a manager in place if we are to start looking at players for next season.

He has a contract though doesn't he? So we can assume he'll be there? I just imagine if I was running the club, and with the huge headache of the markets field / Jackman park / licensing that's on the horizon, I wouldn't want the added hassle of finding a new manager and coaching/ playing staff in November and December. It becomes a very busy Christmas for those involved.
The stories I have heard from a couple of players is that they believe Scully is there and is planning for next year. Losing your assistant manager for whatever reason isn't the best start to life in Premier...

Ya I think they will start off in the premier with Scully. I was just going by what Scully and Pat O Sullivan said in the paper about seeing what direction the club wanted to go in for next season.
I always got the feeling Dempsey was just brought in to fill the role till the end of the season.

Yeah I wouldn't read too much into Dempsey's departure either. In an ideal world we'd probably have a more local assistant boss anyway imo.

Ya i doubt it will disrupt things at all he would have very little if any input into preparations until pre-season i'm sure so there is plenty of time to replace him. If someone like Tommy Barrett has the required badges id say he would be fine for it.

A few rumours floating around that we're being linked with Sean Maguire, Danny Furlong, Shane Duggan and Lee Lynch. Thoughts? Any updates?

They'd all be very good signings but we are going to be linked with most players in the league this season I would think. It will also be claimed that we are offering thousands. Believe half what you see and none of what you hear i'd say.
Sean Maguire - Probably going to England
Danny Furlong - Would be a good signing but he already turned ourselves, Waterford and Cork down to stay with Wexford Youths last season to the best of my knowledge
Shane Duggan - Under Contract at Cork but may be able to get out of it for a fee
Lee Lynch - Going to be offered a new contract by sligo I would think and would be giving up Champions League football to come here

Have no need for him anyway as long as we keep Gamble,Bradley and O'Leary.

I was told by someone involved with Cork that they're pretty confident of getting O'Leary if they went after him... Would he play ahead of Duggan or Morrissey? From seeing them both in action quite a lot this year, I'd think O'Leary could struggle to push in there. Then again, I also thought that when Bradley signed.
I'd like to see a centre half with a bit of pace, a left & right winger, 2 strikers and maybe just 1 to cover left back. Comfortable top 6 finish next season with that squad you'd think.

They trued to sign O'Leary at the same time we did and every season since so im not too sure where that confidence is coming from but you never know...Id rather any of our 3 over Duggan being honest. I agree with what you want in but think id want a starting left back signed.

Speaking of Maguire having options in England maybe, and O'Leary's future, wouldn't he have done enough also to attract some cross channel attention also ? A trial at least.
Admittedly, I only saw half a dozen games this season, but I thought he was superb and getting better every time I saw him play.

All the talk of Maguire i think O'Leary is just as good a player he just doesn't play in a position that would get as much attention.

Agree, if it was between holding onto o'leary or signing Maguire I'd keep o'leary.

Are you for real,Duggan is one of the best cm in the league, your too used to watching first division football.a regular in the cork engine room all season, gamble nor Bradley would get on the cork team IMO.id have Duggan in a heartbeat and young lynch with him,or would he not be good enough either????

How many times have you actually seen Duggan play for Cork though? You probably know him so are bias. Lee Lynch would walk in to any LOI team imo but also imo he is much much better then Shane Duggan. Duggan one of the best cm in the league not a hope hes not even the best cm at Cork.
Seen Duggan play quite a few times with Cork and he was good but nothing special. Love to know what Cork fans have to say about him on this but from reading their own forum at times before they don't seem to think he is that special either. Not saying the lad is a bad player or anything just not as good as you are making him out to be.

I think it was just worded wrong in the press/ by Pat O Sullivan. I presume he meant they didn't want players just coming for the money, try win a trophy and feck off again at the end of the season.

We all know that but the club are obviously trying to keep some continuity going up next season by hanging onto the bulk of the squad and not bringing in big names for the sake of it.
A lot of people seem to forget we only brought in 4 new players last season.
