Judge looked good when he first burst onto the scene with Plymouth a few seasons ago so I was surprised to see him drop a division with Notts County. He must be doing well there if there's any truth in this:

I've seen him play a few times, he's a very solid player. Definitely at least capable of playing in the Championship.

I saw that Jobi McAnuff against Chelsea. He looked tragically limited, particularly in the second half when he was unable to make any use of possession. He was clearly asked to drop deeper to cover Harte but his use of the ball was torrid.

He's linked with Hull and Ipswich there; more realistic destinations perhaps?

hattrick today for judge away at crewe. brentford look like they'll go up - perhaps a move there and regular championship football would work out well for him.

then again it didn't quite work out for paddy madden.

Just the two goals for Judge today. Hasn't worked out at Blackburn but he has already proven that he is a Championship player with Plymouth.

I'd say there's a lot of players whom it hasn't worked out for at Blackburn. Bit of a basket case there and probably best off being shut of them. Brentford look a good bet for promotion so hopefully he can get a move there.

Has Brentford 1-0 up against fellow promoted side Wolves. A win will leave them one point off the top if Derby can't turn it around at Leeds.

We shouldn't look at it like they are a cause celebre. We should look at it like they would simply bring different things to the table in terms of their playing characteristics. Perhaps the fact that we haven't beaten a decent team in a competitive game over the last 14 years has something to do with only having/selecting knuckle draggers in midfield/squads and the complete lack of ideas over the crucial last 15-20 minutes of games when we are frequently out-thought by opposition benches.

There is no reason why Judge shouldn't be given a call up for the next game. His Championship form isn't something new. He already proved he could play at that level with Plymouth.

Judge willing to be patient in wait for Ireland call up.

http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/judgment-day-for-alan-judge-328380.html

The Irish winger’s name prompts the topic of Judge’s own international ambitions.

Martin O’Neill has been a regular visitor to nearby Brentford since taking the Ireland manager’s post, recently revealing he is keeping the nippy winger in his thoughts for the double-header next month against England and Scotland. Judge assumes nothing, evidenced by him booking a family holiday for the time of the international fixtures.

Still, were O’Neill to offer the Championship performer an inlet to impress, even for the behind-closed-doors friendly against Northern Ireland on June 4, he’ll gladly shelve plans to hit the beach.

He said: “My girlfriend wouldn’t mind that because she knows how much a call-up would mean to me. Although Martin has been to see me a lot, most recently against Bolton two weeks ago, I think he’s settled on his squad for the campaign.

“I have to respect the fact I may have to wait longer for my chance with Ireland. But at least he’s bothered coming to see me play, unlike the previous manager.”

Helping unfancied Brentford reach the play-offs would only strengthen his case for inclusion.

Interesting stat I noticed. In 5 of the past 14 years at Wednesday, the winner of the Player of the Year award was Irish. Without looking it up, who can guess the 5 ? Two were never capped so it's a tough one.

19 years since he played for them. Still hopeful Sheridan might make it as a manager albeit out of work at the moment since he left Plymouth.

I wonder how Carsley will get on at Brentford. Says he only wants the job until the end of the season but if his first game is followed by similar results, he mightn't get that long !

Swansea City transfer rumours: Swans linked with Brentford midfielder Alan Judge
Swansea City (http://www.walesonline.co.uk/all-about/swansea-city-fc) are reportedly eyeing Brentford star Alan Judge. Reports claim the Swans and Bournemouth have both shown an interest in the 26-year-old midfielder who joined from Blackburn in 2014.
Swansea scouts are said to have watched him in recent weeks, with reports suggesting he could potentially become a January transfer target.

The Swans' wide scouting network often sees them linked with players who they watch, and it remains to be seen whether anything concrete will come of it.

Brentford's Alan Judge interesting Swansea, Bournemouth - sources

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2676747/alan-judge-attracting-swansea-and-bournemouth-interest

Premier League duo Swansea and Bournemouth are weighing up moves for Brentford midfielder Alan Judge, sources have told ESPN FC.
Judge, 26, helped Brentford win promotion from League One after his arrival from Blackburn in January 2014 and has maintained his impressive form in the Championship.
He has scored five goals and chipped in with two assists for Brentford so far this season, and was called into the recent Republic of Ireland squad for the recent Euro 2016 qualifiers with Germany and Poland.

When I saw him in earlier years, Judge was a more creative type and often a winger. I've heard he's been playing more defensively in midfield of late but to see him rated as 'Very Strong' is a big positive for someone who probably wouldn't have forged a career at it.

Also, how does he have 5 goals and his finishing is deemed weak? I'm sure there are a few strikers at Brentford who would love to have 5 to their name so far this season e.g. Austrian striker, Marco Djuricin who we'll be facing in the World Cup qualifiers.
