This should be a tough division this year. Lisnagry and Coonagh have come up and I would think Ballylanders, Shannon Town and St.Pauls possibly too. Have heard Cals, Star B and Polia Luimini have pulled out so that brings more teams into it. Anybody heard any confirmation on those teams pulling out?
Coonagh back training tomorrow night.

if cals, star b & polia luimini have pulled out then the league will probally just move up to the 3 teams who finished 3rd.4th.5th to div 2a .. i think last season they put 4-5 teams up a division from 3a and 2b & from 2b to 2a.. you would not know what league would do as cappamore also pulled out of 2b last season and a couple of higher leagues also had teams dropping out and did croom also get banned from league also.

I know the forms are to be collected next week so by right we should know then. Most likely won't know till the fixtures come out though. Fixtures could be given with the forms but don't think they are.

Thats good to know. Ye were a very handy team the last time we played ye…with Caherdavin B at the time.

thats right we always had a good game..we beat ye on penalties in da semi final of da cup at yere pitch i think ye beat us 4 1 in charleville ended our chances of da league that was a good league that year..will ye have a b team this year??
Ya it was penalties in the cup but we beat ye 3-2 in ye're place near the end of the season, came from 2-0 to score the winner in the last minute which handed Killmallock B the league and brought us back into the race for promotion.
No been involved with Coonagh the last two seasons were we have an A and B team going. I don't think Caherdavin have any plans for a B team at the moment anyway. A lot of the lads that were with Caherdavin B at the time are now playing with Coonagh A and B.

Same reasons as yerselves wildforest. There either isn't the players there or there isn't the managment to look after them. It seems to be hitting a lot of clubs from premier right through to division 4. I know of a few clubs that as it stands will be going into the season lucky to have a starting 11.

Star pulled out their B team when last season ended and their A team last week. Grinder 64 mentions two comments above that Cals have not pulled out and played Dromore tonight.

We won 3-1. Played well first half then made a few changes and they came back into it. Close game until 10 minutes to go when we made it 3-1. Must say their pitch is lovely

Ya fantastic pitch.
Beat St.Michaels B ourselves tonight 1-0. Two Irish Junior Internationals played tonight I know one of there names is Breen at centre back, class above. Heard a lad on their line say they had 6 A players playing. Was a very good run out for both sides.
Do the b team play on the main pitch?

Some good players in that B team. Could see the few younger lads alright who made more mistakes but other than that it was the makings of a good team. Had a few B payers out tonight ourselves and we were delighted how they got on.

Been a change in this division. St.Pauls promoted and Shannon Town B put back down. Probably only right as St.Pauls did finish a head of Shannon Town. Disaster pitch wise though.

How in hells name was a mistake like that made.
They knew this all summer and still couldn`t get it right.
The fixtures were up on the limerick soccer site as shannon town in div. 2b.
They rightly kicked up, but shannon town were going further than the ldmc with it so they were embarrassed into a climb down.
Season not started yet and grief from the boys above already.

They have bumped teams up in the past that have finished below other teams. I can only imagine st.pauls got in early and said don't put us up if ye are so without contacting Shannon they just promoted them in the hope Shannon would be just happy with that.
Shannon were right to object if they felt they weren't ready. Pity though as Shannon at least have a decent pitch.

as rules in limerick state two teams go up surely any team that finishes below top two has the right to refuse to go up st pauls finished 4th so i would imagine they would still have good case to refuse to go up as for shannon not being ready to go up may be more a case of staying down to win a handy league title with four of last years top teams now gone out of league :p

I hope that isn't there thinking cause they have abbey in 3A now and abbey are beating everyone very well in friendlies, including teams in 1A. Have signed 6 or 7 players from Star A and 1 from Pike Rvs.
I agree every team being bumped up should be asked first. No point in going up if a teams feels they aren't ready or feels they would have better chance of winning something staying were they are.

lads no disrespect to this division but why would 6-7 1A Players & EX premier want to play in 3 A Whats the appeall ? in my case it would be looking to prove myself at the highest level possible.

Those players have been there done that I suppose. They won 1A and in the premier outside of the top two and maybe one or two others you aren't going to win anything in the premier so unless you are being signed for the top few what appeal is there really to play with the other premier teams, most likely just fighting to stay in the division? At lot of premier teams are struggling at the moment and I would think those are the reasons. Maybe a lot of players are now returning to their old clubs or want to help clubs get back up the leagues like abbey. Maybe some lads just want to go out and play a bit of ball on a Sunday and enjoy their football. Realistically Pike and Boro with possibly Carew are going to clean up this year. Being the other teams in that division isn't exactly appealing.

11/08/2012, 12:01 PM
I think people are playing for teams outside of the premier now because there is no hope of them winning anything in the premier unless you poched to sign for pike or Boro, would love to see Carew win something as I said before they are doing it the honest way and seem to be the up and coming team were players are play for the pride of the jersey. I thnk a few players are now saying sure Ill play for a lower div so that I can win something, the ldmc, Pike and Janesboro have a lot to answer for,
as for the star players leaving star to go to another club knowing that it will mean no more star, its a bit shameful really, club loyality and all that.
