I think people are playing for teams outside of the premier now because there is no hope of them winning anything in the premier unless you poched to sign for pike or Boro, would love to see Carew win something as I said before they are doing it the honest way and seem to be the up and coming team were players are play for the pride of the jersey. I thnk a few players are now saying sure Ill play for a lower div so that I can win something, the ldmc, Pike and Janesboro have a lot to answer for,

as for the star players leaving star to go to another club knowing that it will mean no more star, its a bit shameful really, club loyality and all that.

Regarding your last comment...............all of the Star players left the club as there was no manager appointed, no pre-season organised (and that wasnt the first time its happend) and very few clubmen left.

As for the lads signed with Abbey from Star............most of them pal around together and are doing their bit to help a friend that took over the Abbey team and in Kevin Barry's case, he signed for his brother full stop.

Best of luck to them as I think they'll pi*ss the division (if the players turn up)

given what posters are saying about the quality of signings Abbey have made they should canter through the divisions if they put in the work.years back they came through the leagues and made the premier only to shaft the manager who got them there, put a couple of new guys in who it must be said were a shambles and lead the club to long term damage.hopefully recovery has now been set in place,it would be welcome to see them on the way back.

Anybody any predictions on who will do well in this division this year. I expect Lisnagry to be up there anyway. Don't know much about the other teams Barr Ballylanders and St.Pauls, both will be very tough to beat. Southend and Hill Celtic did well last year so could be more of the same from them.

How are Hibs B doing? Signed/lost many of last years team, they needed to add a few to have any chance of promotion...

i thought referee could only call of games and yet 24hrs before fixture 2 teams have their games called off ?

Ref called ours off anyway at about 5:50pm. Pretty sure Hill Celtic and Mungret had to wait for the ref too. Who got them off early? We rang today as the lads out putting up the nets said the pitch was flooded in a few areas but were told it was too late and we would have to wait for the ref so we said fair enough.

Sound. It will be tough alright. They are a good side. Played against them twice last year. but i am sure they are expecting a very tough game from us too, as always

Coonagh 3-3 Lisnagry

Very entertaining game in Coonagh. Lisnagry took a 0-1 lead, then we brought it back to 1-1 ten minutes later. 20 minutes into the second half we took a 2-1 lead only for Lisnagry to equalize within 2 minutes. 5 minutes later we again took the lead going 3-2 up. About 5 minutes after that Lisnagry pulled it back to 3-3. Both teams had chances to win it but failed to put them away. Glen Graham, Niall Hogan and Andrew McGrath with the goals for us.

Hill Celtic 1-1 Charleville
Cals 0-1 Mungret B
Southend 3-2 Shannon Hibs

A sign of things to come in this division. 3 wins by only 1 goal so far and 2 draws.

was at the hill celtic game, Leo wong scored a cracker of a goal from a free kick, both teams are handy and 1-1 was a fair result. Hill celtic have a nice squad but need 1 or 2 more players in and they will be fighting for promotion this season again.

Just looking at the table there, very competitive league this year. Would fancy Coonagh, Lisnagry and Hill Celtic to fight it out for promotion

Jofspring

I really can't see anyone in this division pulling away from anyone else like why has happened in some divisions. It's going to be really tight. Ourselves, lisnagry and Ballylanders have been promoted the last two years so we can all more than hold our own then you have Hill Celtic and Southend who were there there abouts last season in this division. Charleville B are always handy any time we have played them and then Shannon hibs b who are supposed to be stronger than last year. Mungret B got to the cup final before being taken out of it after objection so i take it they are also a handy team. I don't know anything about cals to be honest. You will never get an easy game off st.pauls either and it's very tough to play on their pitch.

Ya involved with Coonagh.

Have ye many of the same players that ye did about 2 seasons ago charlevilleboy when Weston killmallock b and caherdavin b were in ye're division? A fine team ye had then.

I don't know anything about shannon hibs to be honest only I heard they have a few different players to last season. Beating Ballylanders out there in the first game was a great result also. I don't think Bally have lost at home in about 2 seasons.

did hibs not lose 3-2 at home to southend during the week early days in league yet with teams still trying to find a consistent bit of form.

Ya they did but Southend one of the considered top sides. I honestly don't think anyone in this division will be miles better than anyone else.

Charleville 4 shannon hibs 1 match abonded about 20 mins into the second half.

The referee(Mikey Kavanagh) sent off one of the shannon players and a few of them were arguing with him so he abonded the game. No way the game should have been called off. We were standing around couldnt believe it both teams saying to him not to call it off but he went into the dressing room and that was it. Cant believe it was abonded best of luck to shannon for rest of the season.

Mungret 3 2 Coonagh

very poor performance from us from start to finish resulted in a second win for Mungret,

Hill celtic won 4.1

Southend 4 4 St Pauls

Surely Charleville will get the 3 points for that game. Very unusual for a match involving those 2 teams to get abandoned

Grinder64
25/08/2012, 8:39 PM
Very strange now alright lankyboy crazy decision. Will Shannon get points deducted off them as well very harsh if they do

The result will stand as far as i know with only twenty min left a win for charleville and a loss for Shannon hibs

lankyboy26
25/08/2012, 8:55 PM
It depends on what the referee says in his match report. If he feels that his personal safety was in jeopardy then Shannon Hibs could be fined but no they won't be docked any points. Charleville should get the 3 points but they'll decide that Tuesday evening i would imagine

They have some very handy players and can be a tough team to beat on their day. Ray Foley up front is probably the biggest threat. Heard they have a few suspended after the Ballylanders game which could be hitting them hard.
