I would put my house on Longford winning 1 game in Europe if they played on average 2 matches every year for about 10 years. Vaduz are one of the worst teams to ever play an Irish side. The Swizz 2nd division, don't make me laugh.

Whilw I was disappointed with the Longford result the abuse being hurled at them is over the top.
They haven't being playing well this season so expectations shouldn't have been so high.
As others have said you can't comment on how good/bad Vaduz are without seeing them play.
I'd say the Bohs result was more dissappointing considering they have huge experience and had got a good result away.
I agree with liamon as well about it being a bit rich that City fans seem to be leading the abuse after some admittedly very good euro performances in a modest season.
We all wish EL teams the best in europe but we shouldn't go to town :D on other clubs for "letting us down" if they have a bad result.
i nearly choked when i heard it was 3-0.
a pity but i hope they bounce back. a good bunch of lads, and a nice ground. Offer Kenny his job back i say! (half joking)

finally come people talking sense at last
1. NO abuse is being hurled at Longford.
2. eL fans are expressing the view that Longford are a bigger, better team and club than Vaduz, and should not be getting beaten by them., and are very dissappointed by the result.
3. It's not only a Longford club result. These results affect EVERY club in this league.
4. I would bet a months wages that anything said here on this thread is nothing to what Alan Matthews and some of the players must have said and feel.
5. Matthews surely had a high expectation of getting through to the 2nd round, and ignore the eL versus the league Vaduz play in. Team against team, Longford SHOULD have won.

We defended badly and that cost us but vaduz were clinical and well drilled they have seven players on the liechtenstein national team who remember were only beaten 2-0 by Greece in their final game before Euro 2004, and some of these players aren't first choice for Vaduz, they have a budget of €2.4m per year, players from 11 different countries, how many Eircom League teams have that much money available? they were stunned not to get promoted last season and fully expect to go up this year, they're not the micky mouse team some of you appear to think they are, they'd give any and i mean any Eircom League team a good game they were about the top unseeeded team we could have got, remember any other year we'd be nowhere near seeded. Disappointing yes, disgrace no.

It was actually 21 matches:
before Longford they'd gotten through one round on penalties after both ties ended in the same draw, but they'd never won a Euro tie.
Yep, hold my hands up there - I checked the UEFA Coefficients table which had them down for 1 point in two seasons, but both of those were for two draws, not one win and one defeat as I assumed... :o
