One of the papers claimed Salthill applied after the deadline, but the FAI would hardly have been so harsh on GUST if they were denying Salthill a licence?

If they did do it late may have to deny them to stop GUST having a case.

I know but if they were to let SD in after missing the deadline GUST could kick up a fuss as that was the reason given for there application being turned down.

Maybe they filled out some of the paperwork with the wrong club name?

According to MNS Limerick and SDG get a first

You'd have to assume that Jackman Park isn't acceptable, Thomond Park isn't realistic and Limerick wouldn't be able to get Markets Field up to scratch in time, or equally possible is that they failed the Premier on any of the other requirements.

in the way that you wouldnt be able to play there - or you could read the rest of my post and see that its equally possible that you failed on something else!

I dont know about the rest of the things i know this is wrong so ill correct that. We had the use of Thomond Park. Nothing to correct in the rest so why would i mention the rest.

Only a question but could you get complete access to thomond for all league and cups dates

Of course Limerick could.

If Limerick got a first division licence it's because they applied for a first division licence.

This is most likely. The squad and the club have been geared towards winning the First Division.

I look forward to it.

Yes, we could. Thomond Park is available as a full ground, or as a partially open ground. For example, Shannon RFC rent Thomond, but only one open terrace. Limerick would have the option to open as much, or as little of the ground for their matches as possible, for as many matches as they would have wanted.

Mr A
15/02/2012, 4:24 PM
Just as long as you don't try to play any friendlies there.

That kind of carry on could really screw over Salthill.

The attendance at that Athlone Town v Salthill game would have been DIRE if that friendly hadn't been cancelled.

It's like a point is being made than the LoI is one club away from concrete discussions of the possibility of a 16 team premier. It's pointless discussing it when 16 clubs have not shown they can obtain the licence required.

Throws out a glimmer of hope but alas the only hope for both clubs seems to be the creation of a Second Division below the First Division that is only wishful thinking is all.
