Luke Chambers - Forest to Ipswich

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18736692

A year ago he looked like he might be a handy recruit, had been player of the year at Forest and had Prem interest, ended up being released and moving to Ipwsich.
Is Forest to Ipswich a step down?

But only a few posts earlier we saw a highly rated 17 y/o defender being signed from the LOI by a Premiership team with a new, rich, ambitious owner and a really good manager.

Ya like the other thread where i posted about exceptions Stutts, the same applies here. Everyone here is great at pointing out the example! :P

Again, not directly related to the European championships either.

I suppose you could argue not, but I think you would be hard pressed to describe his career as having kicked on due to it either. I would say its a marginal step back in terms of immediate promotion prospects of the respective sides, yes. Nottingham is also a nice midlands city, close to lots of other cool places, Ipswich is a provincial back water in the far end of nowhere, not someplace you end up living ideally if your career is thriving and providing you better options. Anyway, good luck to him.

Thats a very interesting point you make Crafty, I have this strange feeling about so many places like that in England, how depressing it must be to live there, with little hope or much to look forward to, and if you were to have kids there, what hope for them?! I'm not really sure what i base this on, experience from being in these places? Not meeting many people from these areas(in London, hence a believe that you can't get out/no one dares venture out/no one is edumucated to get out)? Hearing strange, obscure news bits from these places? But when I consider Ireland or similar places in America, I still don't see them the same way. My god I definitely need to get out of this country before its too late, the alternative likes Surrey don't seem very appealing either!!!

Is Forest to Ipswich a step down?I believe that some very wealthy Arabs have bought Forest so he may be missing the gravy train there. The guy that owns ipswich is well off too (from Arms dealing; military stuff!) but they don't seem to be getting fanciful expenditure at the present.

Some serious picking of the carcass going on at Portsmouth, all playing blink, suitors, players, club creditors. Stands proudly alongside any L.O.I. implosion I reckon, maybe not quite every Scottish one though.

If we hold on to Rhodes, anything is possible, but really the aim is just to stay up. At the end of the day, the majority of our players will be largely untested at this level so it could go either way. For example, the captain and central defence lynchpin, Peter Clarke could easily be badly exposed against the likes of Craig Bellamy, who he'll be facing next week. The feel-good buzz and smattering of quality should see us safe though, I hope. I really wish we'd sign Sean Morrison, who we had on loan last season though! A future star and hopefully one for Ireland too.

Apparently there is interest in the Premier League for St Pats midfielder Chris Forrester. Not surprised as the few times I've seen him play he's been quality.

Same rumour about Forrester was going around this time last year when he was at Bohs. Loads of talent but not sure the Premier League would be the best location for him.

Not yet anyway. A Pats insider told me he could go all the way alright but he's way too raw right now.
