Very strange if Yellow has gone to them just after signing for Boro would be a good signing for Waterford though and if another person i have heard is joining Waterford from Limerick it wouldnt surprise me if he has tipped them off about Yellow.

Also was talking to Brian McCarthy and he said that himself and Broughall would not be back next season either so thats more to add to the outs list (probably no need to add Broughall as he isnt a loss at all).

Even though its very early yet the signs are not good so far its time to get a squad together now if we get a squad good enough to win the 1st division it will be good enough to keep us safe in the prem til July if we get put up.
Waiting to see what league we are in for too long could ruin our chances of winning the 1st diviison next season and frankly not winning it next season will be a failure.

Could do with some news of people re-signing or a new signing soon just so the impression we are going backwards doesnt go around.

I'd like to see us do a bit of business in the next few weeks now, make a statement of intent, the two lads leaving is giving off the wrong vibes.

I'm holding out until i hear for sure it's the Pats Steven Bradley and not the Summerville Steven bradley, although the Summerville Steven Bradley is a quality player for his age.

If we do get the Pats Bradley that will be a huge huge signing for us. He's a class act.

Any update on the squad for next year lads? Seems every club has players coming in or announced players have resigned. All Limerick have are rumours of players going! Someone from the club surely has an idea?

Team of the year 2 seasons running so surely if he was to leave it couldnt possibly be over Scully now wanting him.

Been told that its lies and he will be signing soon though so hopefully thats the case.

Would be absolutely shocked too if Shane went to Pike. Really couldn't see him dropping back to junior level.

Jofspring
22/12/2011, 10:25 PM
If Shane dropped back i'd be less shocked than Judge. Shane was injured a lot last season and was very hot and cold the season before. I still think he has a lot to offer though and hope he stays on. I still think he could make a good left full for us.

Delighted with the Guthrie signing. I know he was poor at Dundalk the few months he was there but before that he was highly rated. Frost had been poor enough with Sporting Fingal, Hynes wasn't rated at any of his clubs and Behan was slated by the Cork fans but all turned out to be good signings. The same could be said for Shaun Kelly, he was very good with Dundalk, not much said about him at Galway and was in the worst defense in the league but looked excellent with us.

Fingers crossed this is the start of names being released of signed players.

Same could have been said about judge

I don't know Judge personally, but I've mates who do. from what they say it was always likely he'd drop back to junior ball. Always had a "junior" mentality of that males sense. Shane though, he's been in England and he's played LOI for years. I could see him playing with Athlone before going to Pike being honest. Again, only my opinion...

Judge has a great mentality for the game last year proved that, he certainly didnt look out of place beside our top signing gamble where there is a huge differance in wages.

I don't think kingpin4 was referring to Judges talent as that was obvious to see. There is a big difference between talent to play at the top and mentality. Plenty of average players do well at higher levels becasue they have a good mentality towards the game and some top players never make it out of junior for not having the right mentality.

I don't know Judge so can't comment on his mentality but was just pointing out what I think Kingpin4 was trying to say.

I never said he was referring to judges talent, his mentality had nothing got to do with him going back to play junior soccer he asked limerick for x amount and he was turned down so he decided he wasnt going to further his career with Limerick.

Im not sure yet but i think information coming from the man himself would be fairly reliable.....He may change his mind but he told me he is going to Athlone.

He said he is leaving Limerick because a job he got would make it awkward to travel to Limerick for training so unless he wont have to train for Pike i cant see how that would work.

I thought you said Judge left because he couldn't get along with Scully and now its because he wanted more money?

From what I hear Limerick have turned down other players looking for more money too, and I don't mean from last years squad, which I'm glad to see to be honest. I know you are always going to have to play certain players more but I'm glad they aren't offering everyone money beyond there means just for the sake of it.

He left for those reasons and they are very good reasons to go he didnt get along with scully and he asked for x amount which was very reasonable and got turned down, jobspring it is easy to say you have certain players on more than others i agree but not a thousand in the differance hard to blame the player.

Heard a few from last year were asking for more money....Cant see why they would think they would get it while still in the same division....
If they were promoted fair enough but they should be happy that they will be guaranteed to get paid at least which cant be said for all clubs.

Also heard some new players getting in contact asking for crazy money delighted we are not throwing it around like that.

Seen as there is no player with Limerick on a thousand i cant see how there could be that much of a difference unless Judgie was paying us to play.

He didn't go afaik, he was released.

Why was he released??

Well he wasn't really getting a look in towards the end of the season.

He lives in Moate.

The club were probably targetting other players. (like Shane Guthrie I suppose)

There's three reasons.

I can't wait to hear the real reason though. :)

Exactly what I meant. Surely it must come across at sone point, how many Limerick players are actually from Limerick? There's loads of talent around the town, you just have to look at the players playing in the junior leagues. Unbelievably talented, but it has to come down to the mentality at the end of it. If you're not a good pro off the field, you're not going to last. And that's exactly what I'm getting at. You can't be overweight and then go eat takeaways and drink 12 pints then expect to be fit to play. And I would say that's where the main difference comes in between fellas like gamble and fellas like judge and yellow. (just using them as an example, nothing against either of them, dont know them personally like I already said, just thinking out loud) :-)

Gamble has come to limerick with alot of experience i watched him against mons and when limerick went two goals down on the 90th min he got a red card i am not sure what ban he got but what mentality did he show.
