I'm never looking near bookies again after passing up the opportunity to back Harps at 25/1 last week to beat Waterford 2-0.

Wexford and Mervue are the serious value bets, I'll def be putting something on those 2 for wins.

Cork City at 17/10 looks generous - though we have been poor

Lost both your away games. Bos defence looks OK. Price is about right

For what?
Maybe an each way bet but if Limerick don't win the league this year by at least 10+ points then Scully should never be allowed near a football team ever again.
if anyone took that bet its beginning to look a decent shout. Yeah I know we could well lose the next few and feck it all the good work away, but I wish I put a tenner on it now!
For those who don't follow, longford were 9-1 at the beginning of the season. The new odds are probably about on the money, not a snowballs it will be anyone but us or Lims top by the end, wexford are doing very well but I doubt they'll be able to keep it up all season, and the same can probably be said for us but who knows!

Any opinions on the Galway el Classico tonight?
I have seen neither team play this season but have been reading match reports and it seems that Salthill have been much better.
Even when gaining a point versus inconsistent Waterford last week, Mervue never really seemed like troubling them.
I'd have Salthill favourites at what is essentially a neutral venue but Mervue have been backed in massively.
A lot of the money behind the price moves in the LOI comes from outside of Ireland from gamblers who bet based on the limited knowledge available to them.
I'm guessing the money is coming based on the news of 3 Salthill suspensions and 2 players who played for Ireland schools in Wales last night.
However Mervue also have injuries and suspensions.
Salthill are approaching 3/1 on betfair now which seems madness to me.

Fully agree with your analysis, which unfortunately probably means you're wrong :)
Athlone look decent odds to win against a very flaky Waterford side as well.

Thanks Mr A :)
I've already backed Salthill and Salthill DNB at lower odds, trying to resist the urge to bet more!

Tempted to go with UCD DNB against Bohs. Not sure why a team that has scored 1 goal in 6 league games are favourities in an away game.
I cant see anything other than a mervue win tonight eL Bettor.

Are Bray really a 9/1 shot against Rovers? Jason Byrne's been knocking a few in for them, clearly going to be up against it but price does seem high. I won't be first in line to back them mind :D

odds on Bohs win look iffy as well. Mons 4/1 to win or 5/2 draw not the worst bet (expect Roddy will have them well up for it on his latest return to Dalymount, especially after Cork result).
In the past shams often struggled at bray so odds seem generous , especially 4/1 draw :o

Cork to beat Sligo at 5/1 has to be very very tempting.

Yeah I think that is a big price, I also think we are overpriced away to Drogs.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic here, but Cork are finally starting to find form, and it's a long trip for Sligo. With a big atmosphere in Turners Cross, I fancy Cork to nip this one.

I'm not being sarcastic at all (and that's not sarcasm either!). We had an easy start to the season
Wait, are you being sarcastic when you say you weren't being sarcastic about being sarcastic?
It's important that we know (possibly sarcastic, I've lost track a bit).

I would definitely take a draw, but I concur, I've never seen us at 5/1 at home before. It's worth a punt as we probably will score.

I think it was 9/2 or 4/1.....anyway we're gone to 7/2 now.
But 5-1 is definitely too high
IMO 5-1 is just right for most things (http://www.rte.ie/player/#!v=1143955)

I thought Bray were well overpriced at 9/1 against Shamrock last week. I think they're overpriced again this week at 15/8 against Monaghan.
Reckon I might go with a double of Bray and Shamrock (7/10) vs Derry.

The 1/2 Paddy Powers have us at doesn't look great now that Danny North is out for the rest of the season. Apparently did his cruciate last night.

Hmm Pats at 5/1 looks tempting Rovers (of Tallaght) are a mess at present. Can't see them improving enough to get back into it. The only thing going against Pats is the extra games and resultant fixture congestion.
