I know this contravenes the rules - but I have one spare and I am not able to make it this time to Tallinn. I've PMed the first person on the list (Fr Joe) and had no response yet). If gets back to me soon - he gets it. But could anyone else who is interested in the ticket please PM me. I'll have a look at the waiting list and give the person who is higher up the list first priority (sorry - don't have time to PM everyone). Face value of course. Dublin pick up - too late now to post.

Thanks

For an away game, the list order goes out the window a week before kick off (because of postage and travel delays as you note). So if anyone wants the one ticket, PM macdermesser. (I'll hold on for two tickets myself; bit rude leaving a mate in the pub while I go enjoy myself at the game!)

I would PM you as I'm just looking for a single ticket, but I'm in London and there is no way of getting the ticket from Dublin to London before I leave on Thursday night :(

pm sent too. If anyone else comes across a spare only available in Dublin, or the midlands, or limerick area, I'd be interested in that too. (seeing as the list is gone out the window)

Sorry lads - been a bit busy and wasn't able to reply any sooner. Junior was the first to contact me. He's been in touch and the ticket should be gone by tomorrow afternoon. If there are any last minute hitches, I'll let you know. Cheers

You were down for two - do you want off the list entirely, or brought down to 1? Not that it looks like there'll be any more tickets going.

I did stand up for you jbyrne!

I assume he didn't look at the first post in the thread as it's usually just the list, and the second post is the first person looking for tickets.

and when i was honest enough to just seek one really even though at the time my group needed loads!

happy at least one person on here got sorted through the forum. i assume the spare arose due to the FAIs baffling decision to allocate tickets to fans already at away matches this campaign even if they were not travelling!! used to defend the FAI, the ticket office in particular, but their handling of this away match has been an utter farce.

Surely those people were asked whether or not they wanted a ticket and given first dibs? Otherwise there'd be loads of spares. If it's a case that those who went to away games were given first call, and the rest (none, as it turned out) were put on open sale, then that's fair enough.

afraid not. from what i've read / heard people got tickets allocated to them whether they were going or not. also, one or two got away tickets sent to them when they wanted home only!

Sure that means there must be a rake of spares (or empty seats)?

If that's the case, then there'll be war.

I don't want to get the site in trouble, but it has been speculated on other sites, that Abbey Travel were given a disproportionate amount of tickets for Estonia as they are the official travel partners.
Whatever about people whinging on forums, there literally are dozens of fellas I know through work or home that go to at 75% of away games who did not get any tickets through the FAI, and given that there haven't been that many going to a considerable amount of games, that suggests there could be something wrong.
The ticket office have made mistakes before, it wouldn't surprise me if they;d messed this up too.

it must be maddening for regular fans (not just this for campaign though) that ticket allocation transparency for this match has been dreadful at best. However, Abbeys packages with tickets were sold out within hours and they have many travelling with them without tickets I believe. I am not convinced that the FAI gave them more than they were due. In fact, this is the first case I remember that the FAI offered tickets to regular fans for an away match without even asking them if they were actually going to the match!! maybe thats a big part of the problem. not every travelling fan posts on forums like this and Id say many tickets have dripped down to non regulars who know regulars who were offered tickets and didnt actually need them for themselves.

For Basle 2003 when only about 3,000 tickets were available to us the FAI only had / allocated 1,200 tickets to raffle off to the ordinary fan. the rest went to players, sponsors (from where i got my ticket), 10 year ticket holders, FAI blazers, junior league officials etc. Id say something not too disimilar happened this time.

Just to confirm what jbyrne said above. The FAI announced that they would start by contacting those who had been at previous away games in this campaign (at least, those who had got their tickets from the FAI).

I was fortunate enough to be in Moscow and Andorra so I assumed they would email me and ask me if I wanted a ticket. Instead, after a two week wait and no contact from the FAI, they sent an email saying that I had been allocated one ticket. I am traveling to Tallinn so that is no problem but, as you said, there are bound to be people who got tickets in this manner who had no intention of traveling to Estonia.

I'm sure most of these tickets have found their way to genuine fans, but I share your concern that there might be empty seats in the stadium on Friday while there are Irish supporters outside without tickets.

Yep, that's what's happened alright. There are just too many regulars without for it to make sense any other way. Really, really unfair.

That is mind-bogglingly retarded. Cue the saviour of Irish fans - John Delaney - coming along with tickets to sell to people in pubs pre-match. To take the ticket or to punch him in the face?

This campaign only was used. I know someone left short who was at all games in the last campaign but no aways this time. Tough but they are the rules. he is since sorted.

Part of the issue is people getting tickets through different people and getting tickets in the country. a lot of that goes on. The FAI can't know who they were even if they gott he tickets from the officials out there. Loads didn't pay the Macedonian price for away end tickets (20 euros I think) , waited until they got out and paid 1.60 euros. Seemed a smart move at the time and they got in the away end but they obviously didn't get credit for travelling. I always buy my tickets direct from the FAI.

I think it shows the need for a travel club.

crazy make it up as you go rules if you ask me.

fans who have begged, borrowed and stolen to go away over a large number of years but cant go as much now due to changed circumstances should be in with equal chance to those who have only started going regularly over the last campaign or two. the allocation of tickets to travellers this campaign without confirmation that they were actually going is plain unbelievable really

In the absence of a travel club then using only this campaign is far enough imo. I think it shows the need for one.

Gary,
I totally agree that anyone who hasn't been to an away match this campaign doesn't deserve anything, but these are fellas and ladies (from your own area funnily enough) who have been in Zilina, Skopje, and Andorra. I would say they are in a minority. Where they got their ticket from (providing its in the away allocation) should be irrelevant. TI dunno if it exists but there should be a system where you can logon to a database and enter the ticket details of the stub from the relevant match and build up credit as a result.

I can't agree with that! How long is a piece of string? How regular is "Regular"? Every second away game? 2 out of 3? If it's a straight choice between me (who has gone to 30 games over the past 20 years but hasn't been to a game in the last 2 years, or Bill beside me who has gone to all games in the last two campaigns, then that's a no-brainer.

Can anyone who has a ticket in hand describe what they look like and if they have a hologram, what colour they are etc ?

I think a few of us on the list will end up having to buy some outside the ground, so any info could help prevent us being sold duds / fakes.

Lads, it's not the European Championship final. It's the first-leg of a play-off, in a remote freezing cold outpost. The team will do a professional job out there against those lucky upstarts, so everyone will get to see the tie decided here, and have a big celebration in front of our own fans.

Mainly yellow with a reddish-orange border. No discernible watermark/holgoram I can see.
And perforations on ends start about 40% down ends of tickets.

Also small dot in bottom centre, near to Estonian Air logo...
