Whats with that jersey? Its stupid looking thing. The crest???

Fabulous result, we may have been under pressure but we weathered it, frustrated them. Heres hoping we can finish the job next sunday.

Now, just dont let us do a bloody Ballymena!!!

just saw woodsie header and couple of inches lower and we would have had that precious away goal

keeper and defender on the post were stranded

Billy was very unlucky with the header in the first half but really should have scored in the second half but he went for power instead of accuracy and put it wide.

It'll be very tough for City next week as NEC are a good side and had City under pressure for most of the game

As A Face would say "Holy s hit Batman this cant be right"!

Hey ... you might be quoting that out of context :D

Man ... is it a pitiful joke at this stage. We'd need an organised approach to change things though, could that ever happen ??

Citynet ..... download highlights from Dutch TV .... very good, you can make out alot of what he is saying. He was impressed with Woods from what i could gather.

Couldn't be arsed reading the whole thread, but my thoughts on the game.
We SHOULD have won, I reckon 2 - 1 to us would have been a fair result.
I thought bringing on Gamble was a strange descision, Nwanko would have been a better choice.
Benno was my MOTM, an outstanding performance.
While they must have had 80% possession, they never really looked like scoring, and their only 2 real chances came when we were visibly tiring and I reckon the sun in the eyes had a little bit to do with it too.
However, another week of them training together, and their coaching staff having had a good look at us will improve their performance again. The balance is with them now, as a score draw will do them. Realistically, we need to score twice.
Mickey Devine made one of the best saves I've ever seen in any level of sport.
I reckon Flynnie will not be as big a loss to us as he once might have been, if he goes.
If Neeskens has any sense he will try to sign Georgie.
Fantastic stadium, except for the very steep steps up to the terrace.
We should have won it lads...... :(

But a draw is still a fine result.... :D

What are ya on about saying Flynny won't be a great loss now if he goes, are ya still drunk on the dutch heiny or what man?I'll agree he's not been brilliant this year but we have to give him time to get back to his very best after his terrible injury problems over the last year. He's the best striker we've had for a long time and could be the greatest we've ever had if he stays with us and gets back to the form that we all now he has.

i think patsh has a point here about flynny

2 seasons ago we would have miseed flynny big time

now with the depth and strength in our squad, u would fancy winning games without flynny in the team
AND I HAVE NO DRINK TAKEN :D

I HAVE NO DRINK TAKEN :D

What are you on about ..... it runs through your veins like !! :D

Agreed .... we are not in trouble without Flynnie but if we had him on top form then he would turn defenders and burn them for pace, and the fact that he chases everything. With Flynnie up front, all guns a blazing he is definitely a great addition to the team. We are doing OK now but with him there, he just adds to the game.

AND I HAVE NO DRINK TAKEN :D

Yeah but I'd say some of the stuff you consumed last week in Malmo/Copenhagen is still in your system! :D
Those Dutch style Fat Frogs I had in Nijmegen last night are starting to kick in now!! :D

As for Flynny, I agree. We have now showed that we can cope quite well without him, obviously we'd prefer to keep him but if he did go we have very adequate and capable cover.

Yeah it was superb. I was convinced the ball was in but then all of a sudden Mick's hand appeared out of nowhere to knock the ball away. Brilliant.

If Neeskens has any sense he will try to sign Georgie.

Yeah, Georgie was fantastic last night.... showing some of the tricks which make us all love him while at the same time getting stuck in and doing the hard work. That time when he flicked the ball over the players head was brilliant and it was a pity that his shot didn't match the skill. We already know that Georgie is the best player in Ireland but he's now showing that he is good enough for the European stage aswell.

I still reckon are not as good a side without Flynny in the team. I'm a big fan of Doyler but reckon he is no-where near as good a goal scorer as Flynny and thats what it comes down to when you are a striker.

I reckon Flynny would've done some damage against their defence because when City ran at them they didn't look capable of defending it

Its amazing City fans are actually having thsio discussion, and it shows how far we have come. 2 seasons ago, we were a pretty much a 2 man team, now, even without Flynn, we are still very strong in that department.

I would hate to lse him, like any City fan, but I think what ppl are trying to say is that if we lost him now, it wouldnt do the damage it may have previously done.

Obviously once he is fully fit again (a long time away i reckon) he will be the best again.

don't know if this has been posted but there's highlights of the game (from Dutch TV) available from Citynet and they're excellent.

Billy had two good chances, but on reflection, they had us under the cosh for most of the game, some of the passing was excellent, and the new signing on his debut (no7, the sub) looks a class act, expect him to start next weekend.
