Well done, City! A creditable result, although I don't see you going through judging from what I heard. I often think it's better to lose 1-2 away from home in the first leg than draw 0-0.

Good luck in the second leg.

That was so nerve racking.

Fair play to Billy Barry though he did a great job commentating and wore his heart on his sleeve - love it.

Haven't we come a long way.

Our fans sounded absolutely brilliant at the game - outsang the Dutch fans from what I could hear. Looking forward to seeing it on Chorus on Monday night.

Enough moaning from everyone now - E16 to see these heroes next week is a snip.

They can keep their English teams - who needs them when we have a team like this on our own doorstep.

Feel particularly sad for all those barstoolers on a night like tonight and what they are missing - muppets!

Intertoto: N.e.c.-Cork City remain doelpuntloos (03/07/2004)
N.E.C. played vanavond the first game for the Intertoto cup against the Irish club Cork city FC. In second half the game picture was exactly the same. N.E.C. had ball possession, tried the aim of reaching, but did not succeed in this. The ieren played with eleven players on own half but came by it as much as a couple time dangerously. Fortunately they had the sight on sharp do not stand.

N.E.C. became dangerously just in the last kwartier, then a shot of Wielaert on the lat ended up and volley of invaller Romano Denneboom rakelings concerning went. (later more)

what do u mean by this

an away team would expect to be under a lot of pressure

They sound like a good team, I'm just not sure you can A: stop them from scoring next week and B: score enough to negate your failure to do A.

Eoinh - that transcript sounds like a combination of a Noel Spillane report and a Derek Kiely commentary :D

I have a migrane trying to read it and broke out is a sweat when it said "more later" at the end. :D

Roll on next Sunday.

And there seems to be more press appreciation this week than before. Disappointed with RTE News though. No mention on 6 news and only one line "and finally..." on the 9 news.
Colin Murray ain't the biggest fan of the NATIONAL league if there is a creature with four legs nearby.

They have had more coverage of sailing this week than Cork Citys exploits in europe. Thats i suppose because that other news reader (dobson)? was on board one of the boats. (he got pulled up recently about something unethical inregard to his work recently, didnt he? isnt this unethical - you cant decide broadcasting policy on a newscasters personal favourites).

Hockey has had two live matchs so far this year - el football none.
More live reports about sailing matters than el football. Its getting ridicoulous even by RTE standards

what will we have next on? - crown green bowls.

As A Face would say "Holy s hit Batman this cant be right"!
