That old chestnut! Henderson let it in too softly. Getting turned by a forward happens every CB during a game. You expect the keeper to save it when he doesn't get a great shot away.

I actually though that was more O'Shea's fault for switching off when quick free kick was being taken

Is this game sold out?? I'm trying to buy tickets on the FAI and ticketmaster and even selecting one ticket at any price best available nothing comes up.

Tickets are currently not available online for one of the following reasons. Please check back for availability.
Tickets may not be on sale yet
Tickets may not be available at this time. More tickets may become available later
Tickets may not be available online just hours before an event occurs
On rare occasions, tickets may only be available at Ticket Centres or the box office
I think that's a more likely reason!

I think thats because they don't have a collection/will call window.
I've no doubts you'll get a ticket around the ground

Scotland team:
McGregor
Whittaker
Berra
Hanley
Bardsley
Robson
Naismith
Brown
Adam
Forrest
Miller (c)
Looks like a 4-5-1. We could struggle in the middle.

That's my understanding of it....
The thought of McShane playing in Macedonia would nearly make me want to cancel my trip....
I think this game might well end up saving this tournament. Am looking forward to it, I hope a good crowd will turn up as well. I think they will be a reasonable test for us, considering that on the basis of the last campaign they are on a par or slightly better than Macedonia. They are in good form and scoring well so think it should be a good match. Would like to see a strong performance from us that will give us confidence going into next weekend.
McShane at RB is not good imo, even the other night against NI he looked dodge. Would much sooner have Foley there. Also thought Delaney at CB would be also worth another look - particularly as Sledge remains very doubtful for next weekend. Good to see Ward retain his place, although Kilbane is probably going to come into that position when he joins up with the squad.

Thats a decent line-up for Scotland. They are well experienced in playing a 4-5-1 and getting up to support Miller who can play up front alone and chase lost causes all day. It also nullifies the uselessness of Scott Brown who is hopeless at CM in a 4 but can do a bit of damage in a 5 man MF with his brainless, undisciplined running. Will be interesting to see how Forrest fares. A young, very direct traditional winger. Knock it past his man, pace, cross. Also has a decent shot on him. Naismith I don't rate but he is infuriatingly effective for Rangers though his diving shouldn't count at neutral international level. Can pop up with the odd goal though in support of Miller. I think Adam is a wee bit overrated in England. 14mil bid in Jan by Liverpool?? Thats laughable really. He is always looking for the champagne ball but against our makeshift CB's one or two decent through balls to Miller might come off. He's admittedly deadly from set pieces. Robson also has a decent left peg but is a bit of a camel really. Will get stuck in, 110% etc etc. No threat from a pure footballing perspective though. Their back four isnt great. Know nothing about Cox so if it clicks with Robbie we could see a few goals in this game.
Heading out to the pub now, Ireland top on, will have to brave the whinging oul Leithers. Hopefully stuff them 3-0!

This could be a great game. Two evenly matched teams and a big crowd. 2-1 Ireland.

Great goal for Robbie after some mesmerising stuff from McShane, of all people. Really drilled it. Keeper should have done better. McShane showed a flashy back-flick earlier as well; luxury player.

At least both teams seem interested.
Should have gone straight to this Final. Between the two 'best' teams. Out of an awful 4 teams....
And nice stuff by McShane, like Kilbane, useless at full-back, but useful in midfield?

Watching it on Sky. According to the (Engish) commentator, one of the reasons Robbie is delighted with his 49th international goal is that it brings him level with Bobby Charlton's England record. FFS.

To be fair, Robbie, for some reason, doesn't half go on about eclipsing Charlton's record as being his ambition.

Good half for Ireland. Noticeable fall back since the goal with Robbie dropping very deep. Delighted with Givens first half performance. Looks right back to the top of his game. McShane was great for the goal but gave two under hit back passes to Given. Ward doing OK at left back apart from once letting a ball go over his head. Cox looks a good player and has a good first touch.

He does go on about that record and how it motivates him a fair bit, I saw him on with Pat Kenny and he mentioned it as one of the last boxes he wants to tick in his career.

Ward doing OK at left back apart from letting a ball go over his head.
I thought Ward took one very poor throw, straight to a opposition head at close quarters, and was lucky it came back to him, but immediately again chose a low percentage tight angled pass, and again gave it away.

Our defence looks very ropey in my opinion. They could be on 2 or 3 yellows in a real game. Distribution from the back is poor. Shay seems to be on decent form but I thought I caught a look in his eye that suggested he felt he was a bit lucky with the Bardsley shot. I think he was hoping to get a bit more on it than he did. Good save though.
Tempo isn't quick enough for me. We had some good moments but no real pressure. 6/10 so far.
