I'm working on the tentative hypothesis that Paul O'Shea is the mighty Black Pearl himself but have yet to fully join the dots.
He's struggling to join a few dots himself....

'ooh ahh Paul O'Shea'
at least it sorta rhymes but reason is in doubt.

Injury woes for the Scots. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/scotland/13574700.stm)
Getting injured after turning up is a refreshing adaptation in the week that's in it.

With Caldwell ruled out, the chances of one our lot getting crippled are radically reduced.

He'll still find a way. There's nothing more determined than a Tenacious Scot. I foresee "Tonya Harding" moment... but on who?

By the same token, the likelihood of winning a penalty has been reduced by about 97%.

I wouldn't even say dots, the connections is the problem....;)

Incidentally, my keen detective sense has also identified DannyInvincible as none other than Daniel Kearns. The air of personal victory in his dissection of the CAS ruling was both palpable and telling, triumphalism buried in every torrent of hard fact. The sense of invunerability in his chosen moniker typical of one who has single-handedly defeated an entire association of people.
Who's to say I'm not Daniel Devine? Just putting it out there, although I see how it might be perceived as deflecting suspicions.
Funnily enough, my username is a play on the name of former Australian Kilmarnock "star", Danny Invincibile, for no other reason than I thought a slight tweaking of the surname and combining it with our shared first name made me sound like some sort of cool superhero, but then I realised Danny Invincibile's career never really took off, he probably isn't as well-known as I thought, meaning most would miss the reference in jest, and, as a consequence, I probably just come across a smug tw*t. I used it as a username on Wikipedia when I used to update Irish football articles quite a bit and had a bit of a run-in with some on there who felt the name was too similar to their already-existing article on the main man himself, but I was eventually allowed to run with it, in spite of it apparently giving the impression I was possessed with a "slight arrogance". It's a terror living up to!

And Preston is nearer than Dundalk to Manchester...

I've been nosing about for some info on Macedonia's preparations and found this squad announcement (http://www.macedonianfootball.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2913:jonuz-announced-the-squad-for-the-ireland-game&catid=13:international&Itemid=64) on the Football Federation of Macedonia website.
National team coach Mirsad Coach called 18 players for the 2012 EURO qualifying game against Ireland at home. Among them is finally Bajram Fetai who was left out from the previous games for unknown reasons.
The Macedonian coach made several changes from the last squad that faced Ireland away and lost 2:1. No call for midfielders Darko Tasevski and Slavco Georgievski, defender Igor Mitreski and striker Stevica Ristić who is injured. Again Jonuz showed his stubborness after didn't call any right back so most probably central defender Vance Sikov will be forced to sacrifice himself. After his great performances for Vojvodina, Daniel Mojsov is back in the squad, while surprisingly there is also Aco Stojkov from the Swiss second league side Aarau.
Goalkeepers:
Edin Nuredinoski - Ethnikos Achnas, Cyprus
Martin Bogatinov - Karpaty, Ukraine
Defenders:
Boban Grncarov - APOEL, Cyprus
Daniel Mojsov - Vojvodina, Serbia
Nikolce Noveski - Mainz 05, Germany
Vance Sikov - Ethnikos Achnas, Cyprus
Aleksandar Lazevski - Partizan, Serbia
Goran Popov - Dynamo Kyiv, Ukraine
Midfielders:
Velice Sumulikoski - Sibir, Russia
Filip Despotovski - Inter Bakı, Azerbaijan
Muhamed Demiri - Thun, Switzerland
Mario Gjurovski - Metalurh Donetsk, Ukraine
Ferhan Hasani - Shkendija
Attackers:
Goran Pandev - Inter, Italy
Ivan Trickovski - APOEL, Cyprus
Ilco Naumoski - Mattersburg, Austria
Bajram Fetai - Lyngby, Denmark
Aco Stojkov - Aarau, Switzerland
The match will be played on 4th of June at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon in Skopje. It will be the first game in the newly finished stadium. The tickets are already put on sale.
It seems we're the first visitors to their shiny new abode. Problems at right back for them.

Judging by the presence of Trickovski in the squad I take it then that Elroy never made it to Cyprus (http://foot.ie/threads/149653-Night-kickoff-in-Skopje?p=1473545&viewfull=1#post1473545)...

A less polite reporter might interpret that as stupidity. The idea of McGeady or Hunt running at a make-shift right-back would actually imbue one with a certain sense of confident anticipation.

The guy in question is a 6ft 3in CB who according to this recent report linking him with Sheffield Wednesday, (http://www.macedonianfootball.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2891:vance-sikov-satisfies-sheffield-wednesday-manager-gary-megson&catid=13:international&Itemid=64) has "a tendency to pick up yellow cards but not because of a temper, just aggressive play and not being afraid of contact."
