Scores for Cardiff again after 3 mins. Only his second goal this season but he's only had 4 starts.

Do you think Il Duce Trap will be thinking about Joe any time soon?
The short answer is no. I dont think he is on the radar of Trappatoni and he probably doesnt even know he exists.
I thought he should have had a look in for a friendly last season (not with a view to the Euros) or a friendly post Euros. If he keeps this form up he is a realistic option and still very young. I have hopes for him though admittedly, i have seen only his goals. But goals are a strikers currency, right?
Joe Mason nabbed another for Cardiff in their 5-4 defeat to Charlton on Tuesday. A tap-in. Seems to be quite predatory going on discussion about him, a bit of a John Aldridge. Anyway, 3 goals in 5 starts now.

Goal Mason. Long ball, Helguson flicks it son. Mason runs on to it, flicks it past Dann with his head to get in behind. Cool finish in to the far corner past Robinson from twelve yards out to make it 3-1.

Just watched the goal. Very impressive. He's an exciting talent, he seems like a proper, old-fashioned goalscorer.

Is it me or has he not been in a few underage squads of late? Is he definitely committed?

bizarrely, he's gone back to Cardiff already, after talks between the respective managers: http://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/article/mason-returns-to-cardiff-1170388.aspx

Scored to put Bolton one up on what I believe is his debut since moving there on loan. Sounds like a nice goal.
Goal!
Goal! Bolton Wanderers 1, Doncaster Rovers 0. Joe Mason (Bolton Wanderers) left footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left corner. Assisted by André Moritz.

In the brief highlight I saw it looked heavily deflected but he took up a good position and was doing the right thing, maybe dwelt a bit on it before shooting but still, it's one appearance back, one goal already. Promotion with Cardiff definitely hasn't helped his career thus far after something like 20 apps last season and 6 goals from 12 starts, I don't think he has featured at all for them.

Think it's insane that he wasn't given a chance at Cardiff this season after his goalscoring record per games played.

Seems to be a fair bit of insanity around Cardiff F.C. generally at present though.

If Terry Dixon joins Bolton, they could call their strike partnership the Mason-Dixon line.

Looks from the commentary like him and Jutkiewicz are playing very well.
And again for Mason this week. True fox in the box.
Jutkiewicz also on the scoresheet for the Wanderers again.

José Mourinho may be guilty of wailing about his misfiring strikers the loudest, but with goals in general not a problem at Chelsea, the issue is being most keenly felt at Cardiff. Just one goal in the last nine league games dating back to the beginning of February has been scored by a Cardiff forward – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer persisting with alternating Kenwyne Jones and Craig Bellamy alongside Fraizer Campbell during that period. Following last weekend’s 3-0 home mauling to Crystal Palace, they are in desperate need of someone to step up. Joe Mason – on loan at Bolton – has scored five times in eight games in that same period and returns to Cardiff next week having completed his maximum 93-day loan. However, the 22-year-old was not registered by Solskjaer in the club’s Premier League squad in January – ousted in favour of fellow striker Jo Inge Berget, who has been given just 72 minutes (without scoring) since signing from Solskjaer’s former side Molde. Cardiff have five games to make up a six-point gap to 17th place, starting with a trip to Southampton on Saturday, but the Norwegian manager must be scalding himself over Mason’s omittance.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reminds me of Max Bialystock. He is so inept that it is almost as if he is trying to get Cardiff relegated.

Wow that is amazing the place has gone hat trick crazy.
What is it with Irish players at the moment, they have suddenly gone goal crazy, Eoin Doyle, Mason and Hourihane all scoring at will.
They much be our new front 3.

Strange that Mason hasn't been called up yet. I've been championing it for a while now..
Again, can't see why the author of the piece is having a go at Long. He's started barely any competitive games. I'm not sure he's even started consecutive competitive games yet. It's difficult to get a run of goal scoring form in conditions like that but he's proven in the friendly games that he can score goals. Our managers are too conservative/frightened to play him/drop someone else, even though Long's style of play is more beneficial when on the back foot; that's not Long's fault.
