good point about the scully kerley partnership if they could work togeter it wud great but couldn't see that happening in a million years ther like chalk and cheese..it has been a tough league but we never had them riches before and that's why you can be harsh on scully compared too past managers..it's terrible that everytime a crowd turns up it's a big let down and the public walk away saying what a load of rubbish..when you look at the performance against fingal as opposed too last nite it's hard too fathom what has gone wrong??

If Scully was to go why would we go backwards to people we have had more then once. It would be time to go and find someone new and get them in.
I don't think Scully will go and i hope he doesn't just look at Monaghan have same manager for 7 years look at em now. Changing manager every year doesn't help anything.

I think Monaghan is the perfect example alright. Mick Cooke has done a fantastic job over time with a little bit of patience. I hope they go up this year. They deserve it more than any other team in this division purely for the way they have gone about there business over the years. I'd like to see Scully given one last season. I think he has a contract till next year and i'd like to see Limerick honour that. If he can't deliver then its time to part ways but at least he has put good foundations in for any other managers that might come in in the future. A lot of managers didn't want the Limerick job but at least he has had the balls to give it a go.

Agree with all of that Scully has made huge improvements off the pitch too.
I reckon he deserves full support for next year. Changes need to be made though.

I think Scully will be in a very good position to get rid of the players he does not need or want. Limerick have already started renewing certain players contracts which to me is a clear signal who they want to keep on for next season.

kerley didn't have a choice but too get players from the local league and ul Noel o Connor didn't have that budget eiter and won a league cup and finished higher than it looks like scully will do this season..you wud have too think what would eiter of them had done with the budget scully has at his disposal..Waterford wer bottom wen he took the job the damage was already done..
just a tad few errors there monster about budgets etc. Noc did a fantastic job winning the league cup on a shoestring budget in 2001 and finished last in the league. When he was given a budget under DD, he messed up and was removed. The budget which PS is running on now is double that of MK. However the wage of PS is considerable less then MK.

Lads all this talk of managers is neither here nor there really , although i agree with a lot of what is being said about negative tactics etc , i think scullys contract should be honored and i do think that they could do it next year on a similiar budget , think Kerley might be have got more money as he is more qualified afaik he has a pro liscence , very few in this country have those , maybe 15 peeople ?

I think all this talk of managers is exactly what we need to talk about. If everyone is is talking up the squad for the last three months then is it the players that we signed that are maybe nowhere near as good as they are made out to be or is it the instructions they are being given from the dressing room.
For so called good players none of them have delivered, they are a waste of good money and Pat O Sullivan should have stopped the nonsense wages they are getting. Steven O Flynn came back in a blaze of glory but what hads he done when its really mattered in the last four weeks. Heary is collecting his pension down here, Bobby looks creative but defensively is a nightmare, John Sullivan has been the best of a bad lot, at least he busts a gut every game.
I agree about Paddy and Tierney being our consistent players but i think Jeff Judge is having a very good season, was very good in a shambles of a midfield on friday.
I'm not sure how many will agree with me on our goalkeeper, he has made many many mistakes this season and two shots went under his body for goals on friday, i think Pat hasn't given any other goalkeeper a chance
Great strides have been made off the pitch but what happens on it is what matters and we are not delivereing, i think there are problems in the dressingroom because nobody seems to have the desire or belief we can win promotion, what an opportunity we have but its terrible to see the way we are finishing the campaign that promised so much

That post proves you clearly don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Underage teams starting up
A good U20 and A team
Knocklisheen
A bid for the Markets field
A more professional approach on and off the field
A good manager who i feel can come through with a bit of patience
A scholarship program set up with UL for players
An owner who clearly has a passion for the club
A weekly lotto
Vantage club draw
More sponsors this year than i have seen for a long time
They are just a few things Limerick are much better off with than they where a few seasons ago. Limerick FC has the same problems most teams in LOI football have. Financial issues, lack of support which leads to lack of money, which leads to lack of sponsorship and so on but they are still trying work on these things like every other club. Monaghan are doing things the right way and a reaping the rewards and hopefully Limerick will continue on a similar path to them.

Lads, there is to be no more speculation as to what people are or aren't getting paid here or else bans will be handed out and threads closed. And no "I know for a fact..." comments either. Stick to the football.

well Joe when someone, such as myself comes on with factual and in his posession or has access to proven facts and figures its not for you to specualate as to who is telling truth and fibs especially when certain persons who you only know too well, would indeed have the facts and figures. Insulted that you edited my post

Gael, I don't doubt you or your facts or figures and my post wasn't directed at you in particular. I have to draw a line on this because as you say its not for me to speculate whos telling the truth or not, but I cant have one rule for you and another for others though so its best that the one rule applies to everybody. No posting here about what people earn please.
Thanks
