Pike 2 Lisselton 1
watch the match pike were well in control after conceeding a goal Second half pike awaded a penalty 1. 1 pike then awarded a second penalty well saved.Extra time saw pike before they got the winner through susstainable pressure.Apart from that Lisselton kepper was out standing, kept his team in it,colbert borris terney outstanding as a whole the team played v well, could have won by four or five, but for some excellent kepping. So it looks like the pike express train is picking up speed again and hopefully we wont be derailed, they are thinking of getting a extra carriage for the cheerleaders.:p:pPike2 Lisselton1. enjoyable game to watch.:ball:

i would go for pike v carrick final,

It would be nice to play them again after last season epic semi, no doubt Pike would be out for revenge, Carrick and Pike have along way to go before that can be even thought about. Carrick are away to Kinsale on saturday, its 7 years since we last came down to play Kinsale in the FAI Junior, Anyone know how Kinsale are doing in Cork AUL I know they were unlucky to be beaten in FAI Junior I think by Bellurgan away, do they still play on the headland, the most picturesque field I have being at.

Yes still on the headland - new pitch there now - one of the best around. They're having a good start to the season they have been the most consistant Cork AUL side for the past decade now...

It seems the ko time is 2.30 on Saturday for Kinsale .v. Carrick Utd and not 2.00 as posted in Waterford press. approx 2 hour journey for Carrick . As stated above weather will play a big part in this , hope it wont spoil the day.

Springfield 1 - 5 Abbeyfeale (played on Sun 20th Feb)

Following fine victory in Dublin(vs Tolka - FAI JNR CUP), attention turned to yet another cup game for Springfield.
This time it was action in the Munster Jnr Cup vs Abbeyfeale. The scoreline is definetly a true reflection of the game(well definetly) the first half . Abbeyfeale played some nice football and we well up for this game. They scored within 1min - a superb looping shot from bout 25/30yards. Second goal more or less immediately followed with a tap in from 3yards. Things went from bad to worse then when Springfield switched off from a short corner and the Abbeyfeale, left-full picking the ball up on edge of the box before unleashing a thunderous strike in off the post/crossbar. Fourth goal was a goalkeeping error. This meant that Abbeyfeale went in at half time 4-0 up and the game was more or less dead in the water
(... potential could of been there for an Arsenal 4-4 Newcastle, but it wasnt to be).
Springfield did mange to get a goal back with a smashing strike from 30 yards before Abbeyfeale promptly replied with a great strike from edge of the box.

Game finished up 5-1 to Abeyfeale - better team on the day won it, without doubt! - great game to watch for goals, 4 wonderful strikes.
Nice to see Abbeyfeale players back at pub after the game, hopefully the grub and few pints set them up nicely for their trip home!!!

Best of luck of luck to Abbeyfeale for the rest of the competition.

(yet another cup competition this weekend, home vs BOHS in AOH cup!)

I was there, the conditions were brutal wind and driving rain but both sides played decent and very competitive football, Carrick had a much changed side from the previous, with at least 5 players left out of the side. the competiton in the squad has picked up with the return from the injured players. In truth Carrick looked well on top with Alan Coady and Glen Keane scoring in the second half to run out comfortable enough winners.

Kinsale 0 Carrick 1 played in a high wind which killed the game, keith walsh scored direct from a corner in the first half after kinsale keeper missed a punch under no pressure, in saying that the keeper kept kinsale in the game with a string of fine saves. Carrick march on and await the winners of College Corinthians and Clonmel Town in the Quarters

Well alot of the aisling lads reckon its just a case of showing up and they will win handy, met a few of them over the weekend, they maybe unbeatable on the astro turf who knows, our club have had to fork out 140 euro to rent sean choill astro in corbally to prepare,we phoned ldmc sunday who informed us that the decision about the surface wont be made till friday evening two days before the game,we just getting fed up with the whole thing at this stage.

Would love to know what Aisling players are of that opinion?

This talk of Aisling gaining some kind of an advantage in nonsense - its like playing on a very very good pitch - no mystery to it. Any team coming to play on it will realise this after their warm up. You just wasted €140 as the surface in seanchoill is nothing like that in Aisling, you should have asked Pike, Kilmallock or Boro could you train on their pitch - would be more realistic.

Aisling are in the same position as Wembley as to where the game will be played.

yep give wembley every chance.aisling not a bad side and wembley not a bad side.one at bottom of premier and one on top of 1a.should be even enough game.also lads the astro is no advantage to aisling as they havnt played on it either.

We know Its not an Advantage to any team, actually by all reports its suppose to be Top class. Looking forward to playing on it. Sean Choill seems very worn since the last time we were out there and seems very uneven in places, might need a touch up i reckon still a hundred times better than UL.

Why didnt ye ask Aishling could ye train on their astro since thats where the match is on? Surely Aishling will rent this out to other teams??
