I think Ballina are due to play Iorras in the 4th round of the FAI, there are a few outstanding 4th round FAI ties in Mayo and Galway that need to be cleared up

Wouldn't agree with that statement, pitches in sligo have improved loads in the last few years. All teams in the super league are playin on quality pitches (Boyle, carbury, city, strand, ballisodare) bar maybe 3 teams. Most pitches have been playable the last 3 weeks, blanket call offs due to travel safety concerns.
Ballisodare given walkover by Roscommon town. Disappointing

hodgie dont take any notice of what pixiehead says about pitches. he is a great man to comment on pitches.
its not the first time on here he has mentioned it. i think we should sign him up for a green keepers course. i think fas runs one.

I don't think its any harm to expect a good surface. Its not hard for clubs to keep standards but a lot are happy to accept a bad surface. I would say its the one aspect of Junior soccer that gets on my wick and this forum is for personal opinion after all. I hope you've sent someone from clew bay on the fas course in time for the premier division this year....:p

Cant get over that, Roscommon town are going well in the league and look like they wont be far off challenging for honours come the end of the season.
Are Mayo in the Oscar next weekend??

the clew bay pitch surface is better now than it was back when you last visited we know its not the best surface in mayo but is far from the worst. as i have said before pixie hop on your bike and head out and look. we have not had any complaints from any visiting teams but if anyone here wants to comment on our pitch apart from pixie he has commented enough for now!!!!!

Thanks Longshanks. Astroturf pitch down there takes a while to get used to. It should not be allowed in FAI Junior cup imo. Lots of sore ankles and a few fairly bad cuts.
Whats Quaysides pitch like and facilities?

Pitch is decent, very open tho, in the middle of a big park. facilities non-existant i'm fraid. They are an unpredictable team, on they're day they are very capable with some quality players.

Have to agree Longshanks. 2 good games. kind of hoping they are fixed sometime we aren't playing so i can get down to watch them. If i hear anything about fixtures i'll let you know. Castlerea have floodlights so no reason a midweek game couldn't be arranged.

Game finished 2-1 AET, Ballina deserved the win but Castlerea conceded 2 very soft headers. Castlerea were 1-0 up at half time and looked good in the first half but never got going in the second half and played very poorly and never looked in control in the second half.
Best of luck to Ballina in the rest of the comp but their side looked far weaker than the side that beat Crea last year, and i may be wrong but i cannot see them going on to challenge.
On a side note i would like to mention the officals, and unfortunately i have to criticise how they handle the game, i understand it is a very hard job and everyone on the pitch will make mistakes and I an in no way suggesting there was any bias as both team suffered duty to some bad decisions. There was no consistency in the game what so ever, the linesman seem to make a call on whatever the back four was calling, and the referee was very agrumentative with both sets of players and also got involvment with one of the managers during the game when a supporter made a comment.

Does anyone know score for Connaught cup match between Craughwell and Iorras Aontaithe?
On Galway FA site it says Craughwell won 5-0, but its Iorras who are down to play this weekend v OLBC.

Badker,
Are ye wondering who ye will be playing in the 5th round?? Quayside are no mugs but judging by yer wins in Cork and Westport ye should have too much for them.
