They didn't even show up to the match. No player or manager. Driving up to the match there was ncw "players" in the park. People who had played previous years but not anymore i guess.

Forget blaming NCW or any other particular club lads, this is a fundemental Desmond league wide issue. The whole age group is a walking disaster, every single club is having problems, its a major issue! Are you listening Desmond League commitee? Leadership required please....
Another walkover by NCW what a joke!!

I wasn't blaming anyone what I ment by saying it was a joke is the fact that without any youth tams the standard is going to drop big time in years to come.....the youths league has been deteriorating for a number of years now.....what are youngfellas doing on a sat???there hardly working......

Well exactly soccer8 thats just it, the standard is just deplorable, imagine a club like NCW giving walkovers and theyre not alone, Blueandwhite I presume your Rathkeale? You and Ballingarry are the only clubs going along okay this season and soccer8 is right, imagine the state of the whole thing in 10 years if this continues...

No. A division 2 side and quiet a few division 2 sides are well able to field teams, they might not be the best teams but they arent giving walkovers.

Went to see Newcastlewest v Rathkeale today, poor game overall. Rathkeale took the lead from a free kick and scored the 2nd from a corner, newcastle players didnt seem to be to happy about the awarding of the free kick i was'nt close enuf to make a judgement. Newcastle got a late penalty after a good run by Daniel Power resulted in him being brought down in the box.
Overall Rathkeale looked the better side and Newcastle seemed to lack "heart" when they went down 2 nil.

Went to watch ncw v rathkeale and I agree with everything last man back said..rathkeale better team on the day and ncw showed no heart or determination..ncw players were giving out because rathkeale asked for 10yards and had to wait for the whistle but there striker took the free and put the ball in the net without the whistle being blown and the ref left the goal stand, which in my opinion is wrong if that's the case.but rathkeale were the better team on the day
Any news on how broadford v carrick game went? Heard it went to extra time after it being 2-2 after normal time

We will have a good few changes from the team that beat ye, were missing 7 with injurys from that team..
I went to see yere match vs Broadford, Ye would want to be brining back the 7 who played against Rathkeale because yere team yesterday struggled against a poor Broadford team

First of all i would to thank Broadford for a good hard sporting game. Second of all to win away from home in junior cup against any team is a good win missing 7 or not, we know we have work to hard but hey were in the last 32 of the Fai and thats good enough for me. You obivously have seen Broadford more than i have and going on yesterday i wouldnt say there a bad team..

This is the very same fella thats over our Oscar Traynor team. Lads if he can't manage a youths team! Surley NCW should not be giving walkovers at any age regardless.

What do you mean? Do you think Broadford are a good team, If so why are ye at the wrong end of the table, Did both Glin and Rathkeale not put six past ye last year, Im not disputing that Broadford were a good team in the past but not now

is this not what cup football is all about every team has a chance broadford showed plenty of ability and heart and could have won it but didnt such is life, you seem to be overly hard on carrick for no apparent reason

I have no problem with Carrick as such, I just thought Bobby D was a bit disrespectful of Rathkeale by saying ye were missin 7 when ye played as quite clearly ye were not, or if there was 7 changes in personnel then yere team against Rathkeale was stronger which is not what Bobby D led people to believe last week
maybe carrick were poor on the day but junior football is 11 v 11 so any team can take out a big gun in a cup tie. what makes me laugh is carrick have won more national and provencial competitions in the past 10 years at junior level than desmond league put together in probably last 30 years and leon is saying carrick are poor having seen them play once or twice bit harsh in my opinion

Where did I say Carrick were poor, I said ye ye struggled against a POOR Broadford team and that ye should maye consider reversing the seven changes that Bobby D said that ye made since the Rathkeale game, unless of course he was bluffing about the seven changes. I never said Carrick were poor

You were very offended by a suggestion against Rathkeale when ye were hammered 3:0 (by half time someone said?)yet you simply dismiss Broadford as "poor"! Broadford were not poor on Sunday, they were brilliant and if Carrick had an off day its because Broadfords tactics and work rate was spot on. You'd want to concentrate more on ye'r own season to make sure ye dont end up with a poor season....

Where are you getting that i was disrespectful towards Rathkeale from what i said about missing 7, if anything your been very disrespectful towards a broadford team that just took the current Munster champions to extra time and almost to penos, St John Boscos from the AUL couldnt buy a league win got relagated but still got to the Fai cup final and as i said already thats the beauty of the cup..Just for the record we were missing four from the team that started against Rathkeale and the three subs that came on against Rathkeale including current Irish Jnr player of the year Wayne Fitz. Hope this isnt disrespecting anyone!!!!!!!

All getting excited here, Carrick were minus the Fitzgerald brothers, Alan Coady, Glen Keane, John Murphy, JJ Butler, they had no recognised striker with Adam McSherry filling that rool. Any team that gets to the last 32 without that quality of player available is doing ok.

Broadford were without Johnny Shanahan, Darren Reidy, Declan Noonan, Jamie Coughlan and played with no recognised Keeper, you could go on like this all day, let it rest.

Was very impressed with Broadford, they gave it everything. If they keep that squad together they will lift silverware this season. Only for keeper errors in extra time who knows what could have happened. Is that King guy from Newtown and an ex Cork hurler ?

Yes well done to Broadford. Wouldn't have given them much of a chance last Sunday but what what has been said here they really seem to have really given it a go. They have invested in superb facilities and deserve a measure of success. Newcastlewest now the last Desmond League team in FAI so do they have a chance of causing an upset in Tipp ?

What are the chances we are going to be the last league in the country to call off our games again this weekend, Wouldnt they just call them off now so lads can make plans for the weekend and not at 8 tomorrow night which is the usual case

I Agree 100% they should be called off now its obvious the roads are going to be crazy and makin teams travel is madness. We all know they are going to be called off so would the league just do it sooner rather than later. It is making pure eejits out of players, waiting around on a saturday night waiting for the texts or call to come true. Western Gale would you bring this up at the next commitee meeting?

Fair joke that the league doesn't call off the matches early so people can make plans with the gfs, wives or kids etc....try should call them off today as it's supposed to snow all through tonight and tomorrow, which will be hard on teams travelling on dangerous roads..
