yeah your right cufc i wouldnt rule yourselves out of both either you are the reigning munster junior champions and have had a great few years down there fair play to ye. i hear ye are struggling to get some of your big players fit tho but if ye have full squad available ye can beat anyone on your day. could be some very interesting games between now and end of the season.

They are starting to come back three players came on as subs last sunday who didnt play in months, the squad is looking stronger again, we have Lagan Harps down sunday in FAI it is the biggest test so far, i'd like another slap at Michaels i felt we left it behind us last season they proved what they can do in defence when they grabbed the lead, its great to have 3 teams so close to each other competing for major honours

Three excellent teams in St.Michaels, Clonmel Town and Carrick Utd but can any of them stop Pike Rovers from a clean sweep. They are overwhelming favourites for both F.A.I. Junior and Munster Junior Cups and have strengthened their team big time this season with the intention of winning all before them. They seem to attract all the best players, many with senior experience. Quoted at 5/2 favs for FAI and 15/8 favs for Munster Junior. Difficult to argue with that but would dearly love to see any of the three mentioned above defeat them.

where are lagan from cufc? yes i was at that game when ye played saints and there were a few turning points in that game michaels firstly had a man sent off, then ye missed a pen, and then ye had a player sent off funny game it was, but i didnt think there was much between the teams and there prob still isnt. should be another good game if both meet again at some stage.

Lagan Harps are from Donegal i know very little about apart from the fact that they beat freebooters of kilkenny away in the last round which suggests to me they are not afraid of travel, hopefully we will do the business on sunday and join Town in round 7

According to Boylesports website St.Michaels 1/4, Avenue Utd 12/1. Are Avenue worth a gamble?

I was hoping it would be a bit better than 12/1.something like 33/1 would have been nice.no one thought we would beat ballina town 5-1 so you can never right off avenue to cause a major upset. We can't wait for the game.

It would be some turnaround by avenue after getting a thumping a few weeks ago by Michaels. I would say backing Michaels to win out the competition would be a better investment.

john tierney very good player played with cork city too for a while, serious player but no junior player is worth paying that kind of money for. i very much doubt they paid anything to limerick to be honest there is not even transfer fees for the likes of jason byrne etc in the premier division of league of ireland so cant see a junior club being able to put up that kind of money. Tierney top player but he will not guarantee an fai for pike. he plays up front or can operate on the wing. cause of his age limerick fc might be entitled to some compensation but 9000 thats crazy!!!!

Avenue never six goals worse than St.Michaels - that was a freak result. Two stupid goals conceded in the first quarter demoralised Avenue. Doubt that will happen again. Expect a much closer game on Sunday in what is a banana skin tie for the Tipperary Town side.

14/02/2011, 2:43 PM
When did dundrum start up? would this be back to back promotions if they go up again?

Lookin at the premier league, its mad how tight it is apart from top 2..all the team bar the top two have only won 3or4 games. Clonmel celtic have been drawn so many games, if they had to turn some of them into wins, they could be in with a fighting chance of league.
Where as villa, cashel and wilderness have lost plenty.

Lookin at the 1st division, borris and st nicholas won again the weekend. These still havent met in the league so who ever takes points when they play should decide the league. If Ballingarry went on a run, they could grab second place. They have borris the weekend which is a must win.

Division 2 looks like the best league, any of the top 4 can win it. Very tight. I would be hopin for Glengoole or Killenaule to go up just not too have B teams. Be interestin to see how it unfolds.

lads borris will walk the first division they have only dropped 2 points in the lge and i would be surprised if they even drop 2 more, i saw them play clonmel celtic in the mjc a few weeks back and they should have beaten dem and they had st mich's Ateam at 2all until 5 mins to go before losing 4 2 which is no disgrace. all the other lges are interesting alright. i predict prem, st mich's. 1st div, borris. 2nd div cashel town b. 3rd div, dundrum. 4th div, ballypatrick.

Richard Ryan, Ian Barnes, Evan Maguire, David McGrath, Barry Ryan (all Clonmel Town), Derek Breen, Paul Tobin, Chris Higgins, James Walsh, Paul Breen, Jimmy Carr, Thomas Fahy, Pat Quinn, Ritchie Ryan (all St. Michael’s), Andrew Cosgrave, Paul Kennedy (both Clonmel Celtic), Alan Leahy (Peake Villa), Seanie O’Hara (Wilderness Rovers)

Any opinions on how that squad will get on this weekend in Cork?

j carr t fahey a cosgrove i barnes

I think John Shanahan is suspended for this game. Is he the lad who was sent off against Munster Senior League and therefore on one match automatic suspension. I think Balls has selected a very good side above but would prefer McGrath or Ritchie Ryan up front with Barry Ryan. Following the trial on Saturday it puts the TSDL players on show again as Junior international Manager Gerry Smith intends attending the game plus his assistant manager Mick O'Brien who is manager of TSDL.

Also like balls team, one or 2 small changes but it seems farely strong. not sure is thomas fahy better than some others.

Also, i wonder what ban gattuso will get after his antics against spurs when you compare it to some suspensions handed out in tsdl, may be interesting? If it was in tsdl, be a few years.

thomas fahey is the only holding midfielder in the squad all the rest are attacking midfielders so he adds balance to the side, i would go with paul kennedy up front as he is best finisher in tsdl. maybe richie ryan instead of o hara up front other than that team really picks itself.

as regards gattuso s ban football fanatic, if he headbutted or assaulted a referee which was our problem in tsdl, im sure he would get a similar tsdl type ban of say 1 or 2 years, but as it was opposing teams assistant manager id say he may just get anything between 2 and 6 months

Its a pity because they have only built new dressing rooms in the past year. But i know there was one game this season when they only rang 3 mins before kick off to say they had turned around and gone home when the home team were out on the pitch waiting, that is unacceptable.

Ah balls i would rate head butting an opposition coach and pushin him in the neck alot worse than pushing a referree in fairness. Borris were also thrown out of the cup for that incident, terrible stuff from tsdl in order to get st michaels through to next round.

Regarding mullinahone, how can they not get 11 players together. the gaa season wouldnt even be started so they cant be using that as an excuse.

Assuming Mullinahone are gone the following are my calculations how the fourth division should look like now. This is UNOFFICIAL as the TSDL will officially decide at their next meeting. The statistics are games played and points accrued. Ballypatrick 14-36, Dualla 15-32, Clerihan 13-25, Peake Villa 'B' 14-23, Tipperary Town 10-18, Donohill-Doon Celtic 12-17, St.Kierans 12-17, Moyglass 'B' 12-10, Ballyneale 14-8, Mullinahone 18-6. Any of the above clubs correct me if I am wrong.

haha footballfanatic you obviously were not at that game between st michaels b and borris if your saying the tsdl threw borris out so st michaels could get through wel i was at it so il give you a lowdown. saints b had just scored to go 2 1 up early in the second half the saints player rounded the goalie and rolled the ball into the net and the defender broke up the mich's player after he had kicked the ball into the net which prompted the ref to give a red card which it defo was so down to 10 men and 2 1 down borris were lookin at a heavy defeat the same day the way the game was panning out because mich's had a strong team out the same day. and before you come jumping back at me i can tell you that st mich's have very good relations with two mile borris fc and both clubs have great respect for each other they played each other a few weeks after that in the league which borris won and there wasnt a dirty tackle in the game i think all the borris lads acccepted that it was a mistake on their side the last day and that was that.

But why were Borris thrown out of the cup? You cant say Borris were lookin at a heavy defeat, with just 48minutes gone, just because st michaels had a strong team out, but shur, so did borris.
I was at the game aswell, it was only a yellow card given for "breaking up" the saints player. The resulting red card for mouth talk.
Im not saying they dont have good relations, i know they played twice since and have been normal games with no problems. Borris giving saints B's a 3 nil beating with saints A's beating borris 4-2.
