View Full Version : Inter Toto Travel Info
malmo have requested the game be played on the thursday instead of the saturday..lennox hasnt agreed to anything yet
Well we'll have to talk to him and make sure he doesn't agree to anything so, too many of us have booked flights now at this stage for them to go changing it.
Don't see why we should have to oblige Malmo anyway, Inter-toto games are played on Saturdays. If that doesn't suit Malmo, tough.

ok found out some more info...there's a festival on in malmo that weekend and there will be a problem with policing..obviously the police will be needed at this festival.think lennox suggested the friday but they cant play it that night cos i think sweden have an international game.
Would be much easier to get flights mid-week assuming you not booked for weekend already.

The Herald probably told them that we're Neo-Nazi's aswell and that they'll need to be on a high state of alert! ;)

what's the story with tickets for the game (away)? do we need to get them from the club or will they be available in sweden or is it too early to be worrying about such things?

I think we'll get them through the club. In trips past Noelle has met us before hand and sorted us out once the club gets them.

. Try and travel to Copenhagen its easier - their is a train which runs 24 hours from Malmö to Copenhagen Airport which takes about 20 minutes and costs 85SEK (approx €9) one way. You cannot buy a return ticket unless you are using the return leg within 24 hours. There is a bus service from Malmö to Malmö Airport (Sturup) - takes 45 minutes and costs around €12 one way.
2. Their is a small but decent Irish pub in Malmö - Fagans. Apart from this there are not many decent pubs here. There is a place for outdoor eating and drinking which is really good if the weather is nice called Lillatorg (Small Square)you may prefer however to go out drinking in Copenhagen, especially the Globe (Irish pub), it will be cheaper to stay in Malmö, there are IBIS hotels in both Copenhagen and Malmö.
3. Its a big stadium with 27000 capacity, Malmo regularily get 20000 specatators but expect no more than 10000 for this one. Tickets for the game will probably cost 80 - 180 SEK - there is a very lonely spot for away fans.
4. Swedish police accept no crap.
5. A pint will cost anywhere between 45SEK to 55SEK - many places have happy hour between 1500 - 2000 where it costs considerably less. If you are drinking in Malmö I really do recommend fagans (www.fagans.se).
I will be glad to meet up with anyone for a beer before or after the game.

Sheeze ... fair play XR !!
I like the sound of the the Slaghuset! 4000 people, open until 5am and plenty of Swedish women who I'm sure won't be able to resist all the Irish fellas. It does say that the Swedish people are "friendly" and "very helpful with tourists"! ;) :)
It also says Malmo is cheaper than Copenhagen, I was under the impression that it was the other way around. Both are quite expensive anyway by the sounds of it though.

from what i hear its exagerated. malmo is not as expensive as the bigger swedish cities
There isn't much differances in prices but there is a differance in exchnage rates - you get just over 9 swedish for 1 euro whereas you only get 7 Danish. My experiance is that Copenhagen like many capital cities is more expensive - many Danes do their come over to Sweden for shopping etc because of the prices.
Don't know of any festival in Malmo the weekend of the the match here in Malmo. It is a bank holiday weekend here though for midsummers - all the Swedes eating raw fish, drinking lots of shots , getting plastered , dancing around a giant pole thingy - Last year a crown I knew went skinny dipping in lake, seemingly not all that uncommon. That takes place on Friday evening, expect Malmo to be quiet enough in the pubs. Myself and a few friends will go to Copenhagen for a bit of a sesion, anyone here is welcome to come along.

Nice work - well done!
that skoog guy was mentioned in world soccer recently, hes supposed to be the best striker in swedish league football at the moment.
He is but he isn't exactly prolific at the momet ; i think has has only scored twice this season. I'd be more worried about Tobias grahn or Afonso Alves right now.

if that lands on time you'll be cutting it fine, the spin to Nijmegen takes at least three hours according to their fans, unless you're going straight to the ground?

I'm debating whether to go with that or with the Dublin - Charleroi one which doesn't come back until Monday morning.
I'd rather come back on Sunday but I'm a bit worried about the 14:05 arrival there.... it's cutting it very fine for the match.
Damn decisons!

I was gonna go on that Ryanair flight from Dublin to Charleroi on Friday morning but the 4 hour train journey up to Nijmegen put me off.
Flying out on Friday from Dublin to Rotterdam at 13.40 instead, only an hour and a half to Nijmegen by train then with no changes

Are you sure about that Eric?
All train timetables I saw say the journey is over 2 hours.
