Wasnt on about attacking football by the way - just decent passing, something like maybe 4/5 passes to feet would be nice now and again
Come on Dodge, if you were playing Bohs/Shams/Ucd/Fingal (all teams I enjoy watching) they would have definitely got a goal or two on Friday - Dundalk werent that good!!!
But I accept - maybe I just have picked the wrong games - will see for the setanta final so..................:)
Not seen too much of them (about to change:) ) but I thought Pats played some very good football at Dalymount against bohs, especially the first half. passed the ball very well and usually Dalymount is a good indicator (big pitch, usually good condition). Fingal do knock the ball around well but strike me as a little one paced as a team (again on limited viewing). UCD playing good football (as expected from Russel team) but not getting benifit of it (often due to own naivety). Not sure how you make out shams as good footballing side but each to his/her own I suppose .

5 points off the top with a game in hand, look out league when we do start getting the benefit of our play!

I think he means that our good football didn't generate too many decent chances in either game against Bohs.

yeah fair enuff, was really going on when they have twigg and baker (last season), but they are set up well as a team
Also didnt mention Sligo, I like the way they play too. :)

Yea agree with you RE Sligo - at Dalymount they were the best away side I seen this season (from a footballing perspective). Not knocking shams but I think they are more effective than attractive. On UCD, as P Stu said I din't think they always get the results their play would merit (at home to Bohs one example), sometimes let down by naive actions of young players but always trying to pass the ball. Incidentally Schum, with the open nature of the League this season maybe UCD can aim a bit higher than survival;)

Absolutely. I'd be disappointed if we ended up in a relegation scrap from here. Winning the league isn't going to happen but a challenge for Europe isn't out of the question.

All up for grabs. would expect stronger squads of Bohs and Shams to mean they fill top two spots but anyone keeping clear of injuries could well have a very profitable season. I have been impressed by the number of teams trying to play football this season, a big improvement in my opinion

Murray is like Barezi compared to some of the other central defenders in this league.

Overall, Harps were better team but just cant score at the moment. Derry's centre halves pretty impressive tonight. Around 50 or so Harps fans at the game.

If ever harps had a chance to beat Derry then it was tonight.
Derry only had two regulars starting with Mark Farren being one of them and he has only been getting on as a late sub for a while now.Probably the youngest ever team Derry have used at the Brandywell with 16-17-18 and 19 yr olds making up most of the team.
Harps dominated the 2nd half but young keeper Ferry had only one save to make as the defence stopped most attacks before it got as far as him.Mc Hugh had a great chance but is a man with no form or confidence.
Wasn't a bad crowd there (not the 1,500 guessed above). I havn't been told but I would guess no more than 700 with maybe 70 harps fans scattered around different parts of the ground.
Thats ten wins in a row now for Derry and it's on to Cork on friday which will be a real test of this team.
Does anyone know when the draw is for the next round and if it's still regionalised?
Dunno when the draw is, but it isn't regionalised.
games to be played 31 May/1 june so i'd imagine it'll be son enough
Weekend after is the FAI Cup too

Ya Quarter-Finals up next so i wouldn't think it'll be regionalised for the next round.
Does the gate money for the League Cup work the same as the FAI Cup, split between both teams?

The draw hasn't happened yet Dan, and its not regionalised. We've a 6/1 chance of getting them so it wouldn't surprise me
