Any thoughts on who will be the strongest and who will be favourites for the drop?

gonna be a tough league to call this year with 2 getting promoted and the rest relegated, rumour has it that Killala and Knock/Kiltimagh have been busy getting new players in?

Hard to play football in derby games like that. Rangers tried to play it on the ground at times but didnt work. Pitch was too narrow for it! Best battlers win on days like that :-)

From what i heard your keeper made a big mistake with the free kick, if he did not make an atempt to save it and allowed it into the goal, the goal would not stand as it was a indirect free kick as the referee had his up signaling it.

1st time a lot of those players played together. happy with result but lets not kid ourselves. we were far from good. as for the "2 bad goals" ..... did ya not see the finish for the first? - contender for finish of the season already i think! :) or the peach of a shot for the second (only sayin that cos im pretty sure he'll be readin this at some stage!)

as for the keeper..... he thought he had it broken but turns out its only some sort of muscular ligamenty thingy. hes on crutches for a few days anyway!

Moy Villa V Urlaur away
Conn Rang V Mullranny draw
Achill Rovers V Kilt/Knock home

They are verry tight games and at this early stage how does people think the division will span out especialy if 8 teams are going to be relegated and who will be chalenging for the title.

You were right with one Round Tower.
Manulla B 0-5 Killala.
Was like watching The Gunners! (on a good day).
Will be tight this season. I reckon ourselves, Mulranny and Achill will battle it out at the top.
Anyone else have any ideas??

Moy villa 2-2 Urlaur

urlaur 2 up at half time villa scored two in the space of 2 mins in 2nd half plenty of chances for both teams

The Gunners were never that good because their midfield never hounded the opposition like Killala did last night but to be honest Manulla were brutal. When u include ourselves who do u mean.

conn rangers 1 - 1 , soft penalty for mulranny, dodgy decision, had chances to win but we will have to take the draw

Celtic B 2 - 2 Inver Utd

Tight game, both teams had plenty of chances to take the win but a draw was probably a fair result. Dodgey sending off in the first half changed the game.

Way to soon to call it yet its gonna either be a massive battle or else one or two teams will run away with it! Your rite bout Mulranny, Achill and Killala looking strong already and from reports none have used the same players for each game so by the scores they clocked up must be sum gud strikers in action

Predictions

Killala, Inver, Mulranny, Urlaur, and a draw.
Big local derby should be very tight but we will prove too strong for them. This thread is gone very quiet whats wrong.

Mulranny and Kilalla looking very strong, shocked at the poor starts from Conn Rangers and Moy Villa, Seen Moy Villa the other week and they are much weeker side without Muldoon. Thought they would do well but only 7 goals from Rangers and 5 from villa is very poor given they were scoring for fun last season. Manulla b and K/K getting their 1st wins of the season tightens everything up at the bottom with only 2 points between bottom 5 teams

Round Tower
17/05/2010, 10:07 AM
Killala 5 Moy Villa 1

A great strike from Gigsy opened the scoring, game changed when their defender was sent off for a professional foul on Malloco with Gigsy puting away the penalty, Malloco scored the third when rounding the keeper, done him a favour by scoring or he would have got the line as well. Smurf put away the third fom close range after the keeper could not hold a strike. During the first half Moy Villa could have a no of goals with a great header coming off the crossbar with the referee ruling that it had not crossed the line, 4-0 at half time.
The secould half was very poor with Gigsy completing his hatrick from close range. Moy Villa got a late consolation from the penalty spot.

looking like a two horse race alrite! although a win for Achill next week could bring them back into it! shocked by some of the results and high scoring games thought it would be a much tighter season

a bit premature saying a 2 horse race already, and saying conn rangers had a poor start is harsh, considering we drew with mulranny and were beaten by a penalty against kilala

inver
Bottom half:
castlebar
manulla
moy villa
urlar
kiltimagh,
what do ye think

Its hard to know with some funny results, i dont know is it depends on gaelic or not but with question marks still hanging over what is going to happen with relegation and promotion for next season, i will cut up the league in three. I will put them as good as i can in the order they are now.
Top 3.
Muranny
Killala
Achill
Next 3 -a couple of wins they could challenge for the top or a couple of losses they could drawn into the normal relegation batles
Inver
Conn Rangers
Castlebar
Bottom 4 - i cant see them pulling away from the bottom.
Urlaur
Manulla
Kiltimagh
Moy Villa

[QUOTE]a little negative maximus, where would you rather finish 3rd or 10th??/QUOTE]

Think this is one of the reasons the League won't confirm how many teams are being relegated from each division. They are afraid that even half way through the season that all teams not in with a chance of promotion will just throw in the towel and their will be lots of meaningless games.

Exactly Footy. I think this would be the case with many teams if they knew they were bound for relegation. Honestly Mr. Monkey if the bottom 8 were getting the cut, 3rd or 10th would make no difference. Your dropped into div 2, while the second place team goes into the prem. Now your 2 divisions apart!
