Even you should know that the choice of ref has nothing to do with the Clubs?? But yes an associate ref from the town was down to oficiate the game but thankfully we got a proper ref to take charge.
how come an associate ref was down for it. Thought associate refs could not ref junior in mayo as they are not part of the refs society?

:shut:[QUOTE=Back n the game;1357745]Dont know what's happening on this thread with several posts disappearing and suspensions handed out . Anyway its no wonder people arn't getting involved in this historic squabbling from 2009, you were't even involved gaffers gaffer and your asking for people to revive the banter of 09 yet all ive seen you do is insult other posters on here?? so my advice is

You were only born late in november when smurphs jewels was afraid he was about to be suspended ,when you look in the mirror looking back at you is as we all know [apart from the moderators that is ] is murphs jewels. No where have i asked for the banter of 09 to be revived it is not all about you, all i was interested in was getting the thread active again with new comments and predictions for this season. And as for insulting people you find me one post that i have insulted anybody else. So my advice to you smurphs jewels/back n the game is to take your own advice and:shut:

Wow great result for Swinford.. Cross definatly jekyl and hyde side. Beating the cup favourites 2 weeks ago and getting stuffed by the basement side in the league. No consistancy in the league, Charlestown seem to be getting a nice run together, any report on Weatport C and Charlestown game?? is it true that a Charlestown ref officiated this one? some more dodgy goin on's down there murphs eh?? Claremorris not living up to sucess from last season and glenhest starting to get their act together. Could be an interesting league.. just wonder if all other teams are playing for 2nd place even at this early stage.

do you feel stupid :silly: or clever writing posts like this under the guise of back n the game!! does it take a lot of thinking not to write something you already wrote under the guise of smurphs jewels?? asking these questions only insults every other persons inteligents on these threads by thinking we are all thick and dont know that murphs jewels and back n the game are the same person, now your suspension is over you can put back n the game back in the cupboard and revert back to being your self murphs !!!:D

yes the insults were missed surely. But as i said earlier in the year i reckon charlestown will walk the league but its just a pity we are going to be in the premier division when ye go up :P

I would have to agree with you about what kind of caracter murphs jewels is!!! ;) and that charlestown should run away with the league this year but as for you going up to the premier league i think charlestown will beat you to that one , they are a great team on the pitch with only one weak link off the pitch!!:) Sorry purplemonkeydis.

we will see gaffer,we will see,for a team with no weakness we managed to beat them in the cup last year and a promotion playoff even when they got an equaliser in the final seconds

I think your leaving out something there Purple, we beet ye TWICE in the league, in Charlestown and on yere home patch.. Fair enough Conn beet us in the cup, they were probably the better team on the day and were worthy of the win but the playoff it took penalties to decide it and if you were at the game you will remember that our equalising goal was coming for quite some time as we had control of nearly all the second half, and with regards to extra-time there was only one team pushing for the winning goal and that was not Conn..

The Playoff only proved one thing Conn, that You are better at penalties than us, Nothing else....

Will have to agree totall that they do play a nice brand of football, but from all reports all the off field problems are well and truly sorted since the new commitee replaced the old wrot. Total harmony appears to have me restored and teams allowed to get on with playing football instead of putting up with infractions every othe week.

Reality Check:it will be a no. of years before either of Conn Rangers or Charlestown will be in the Premiership as Conn Rangers will be in Division 2 and Charlestown will be in Division 3 next seasion.

Reality Check Yourself: I never said we would be getting into the Premier League before Conn, Gaffers Gaffer stated that, i just simply said that the playoff proved that Conn is better at penalties than us..!!

I dont know about anybody else but this new 8-team division the Mayo FA is going to bring in has me totally Dis-heartened, even if we are on top of Division 2 with majority of the season left to play.. Its a complete joke..

I was at the meeting where the 8 team divisions were brought up. The only ones to speak against it were Westport. So if it is a joke its your club reps that are the joke not the Mayo league.

rava
21/05/2010, 8:41 AM
Many of us were at that meeting and it was only a topic for discussion, nothing was decided upon. Also it was never discussed how we would achieve this 8 team league as no club would agree to relegation on the scale necessary to achieve these 8 team divisions. Also its not club reps that have left this issue up in a heap a third of the way through the season.

The question has to be aked had the Mayo league management comitee tought it out before they came up with this crazy idea. I dont go to delegates meeting but did the management comitee come up with any alternative or the reasons behind the daft idea and i think the best idea would be to scrap it for this year or just reduce the super league till it is properly tought out. Imagine if this hapened in any of the major leagues that after a third of the games played no-one knew what was the situation.

Another win for Charlestown this weekend, Cross banished the previous weeks disaster at swinford and Westport C going down 1-0 to S n F. Glenhest in all sorts of trouble again this season. Could they be relegated for the 4th year in a Row? Alltough i dont think it matters as there going to be any promotion from this division..... thus it makes you wonder ?????? what the hell are you guys playing (and paying) for this season. It is going to be a total waste of a year going on what the ML intend on doing because this will be the 5th tier of mayo football next season and no one will be promoted?? I think someone from each club in this division needs to arrange a meeting with the powers that be and get a final resolution on what exactly they prepose.

just saw the league tables, two teams promoted last year going well, two teams relegated last year struggling, there really is nothing between any team up to division 1. charlestown seem to be the team to catch but i heard they weren't entering a team this year? do they have new players?

Great start to the season for us this season alrite.. Our starting 11 is pretty much the same team as last season bar one inclusion in Center Midfield as a lad came home from Oz.. Our bench is alot stronger too.. Competition for places and training's going very well too so hopefully we can keep this momentum going.
Massive Cup game this weekend against S&F 'A'.. They have a great side and will be hot favourites but its always good to play these big teams in the cup. Look at Moy Villa and Westport last season, you just never know on Cup Day..

i agree that anything can happen on cup day but from what i hear s&f b should have had at least a point against you so their a team should have no problem this weekend, they seem to be back playing good football and challenging like they were in the past. sorry but good luck anyway. think this cup is going to erris or ballina anyway

S&F 'A' had a big problem against us... Charlestown was 1-0 up for alot of the game, hit the crossbar TWICE, i taught we played some great football at times and were unlucky to loose in the end after extra time...
Alot off good teams knocked out of the cup in the first round and either Westport or Manulla going getting knocked out when they play..

Just wanted to know if any other clubs got fines this week for inadequate pitch enclosures?? Got fined €40 this week for no dug-out's, which is fair enough, and €40 for inadequate pitch enclosure. We are currently renting a facility in Headford. The pitch we play on has an 8-10ft wall on one sideline and both ends and a post and rail fence on the other side. Is an 8-10ft wall not "adequate"? No disrespect to any other facility but it's definitely one of the better enclosures out there. The Mayo League inspected the pitch on the 11th Mayand outlined the difficulties they had with the pitch. We wrote back but to date have not gotten a reply.
The pitch was inspected on a Tuesday and a comment was passed on the report that "no stretcher present".
If they had notified us, we would have been there on the day and made the stretcher available. We're playing again tomorrow and no doubt a further €80 fine will follow. It's very frustrating as like every other club out there, we don't have money for throwing down the drain on fines and it's getting to the stage that you'd wonder if the Mayo League are interested in football or making money. Which is more important?? I think I know the answer to that one.

Have other clubs come across this, and have you any solutions??:mad::mad:

Do they actually expect the stretcher to be left on the sideline on a random tuesday afternoon. thats ridiculous.
ive seen that pitch in headford recently and felt everything about the facilities were excellent. that fine is shambolic!

Ballyvary BB 1 Charlestown Athletic 3

Charlestown well deserved the win. The pitch was SHOCKING. Impossible to play any sort of football.. Doubt its been cut in weeks, Any farmer around that area should go down and have a look at it, they would be guaranteed at least 4 or 5 round bales from it.

Charlestowns Pitch is better than the one in Headford.
You could not have been at any game in Ballyvary this season because if you were you would know there pitch is far worse than the one in Foxford.
Best Ref was Stevie Moran in my Oponion.
Soundest team is Swinford closely followed by the lads from Westport.

Can I ask Why you gave Charlestown the 'Unsoundest' tag? I think pretty much all the teams in Division 2 were fairly sound this Year!

Seen him play about 5 times this year. Watched him v Westport C in the peeing rain in Glenhest and he just bullied and intimidated all the young lads. Had no interest in football. Seen him a few weeks later in Charlestown and they were big men and really put him in his place. He was a mouse and totally ineffective playing on the left. Got substuited after an hour. Then back to his bad old ways against S n F b.
Think he is a decent player tbh if he decided to play rather than act a fool. Good in the air and not bad on the ball but has a serious attitude problem.

League Two

Ballina Utd.
Ballyhaunis Town
Castlebar Celtic ‘B’ or Kiltimagh/Knock Utd.
Cross Celtic
Glenhest Rovers
Manulla ‘B’
Parkside Celtic
Straide & Foxford Utd. ‘B’

With the teams announced for next season, looks like it's going to be a really tough Division to get out of. Ballyhaunis are coming up with real momentum with Parkside and Ballina Utd and either Celtic B or K & K United will have a real point to prove, alongside Manulla B. Ourselves, Glenhest & S & F are the only sides left from last year. Looks like alot of travelling!!!
