Limerick deserved something out of game, better team after shaky start silly goal to lose. Thought ref was very good spot on with reds and let the game flow. For Limerick judge and no5 centre half had very good game. Forwards very young but will improve O'Flynn would have probably scored hat trick tonight. I also thought the two wingers the blonde twins were very bad for Limerick

Didn't see how bad yellow's tackle was but the Derry players did their best to make as much of it as possible. Don't normally see a straight red in the middle of the park...had to be harsh. Team was impressive in the second half, showed great character and we should have had at least one goal. Even though its a slow start point wise, based on tonight I think we should be ok. Either that or Derry are very poor, doing very little with a one man advantage. Judge and Clarke were very good.

Second to everything in the first half, gave derry too much respect and took a while to get into. Thought yellows sending off was harsh enough as a Derry player had just lunged in two seconds before that and should have recieved a yellow card for that. Limerick dominated the second half and must have won 13 or 14 free kicks in a row with no cards shown by the ref. Derry where dangerous on the break but barr that where up to nothing but fouling whinging and time wasting. Derry very lucky to come away with 3pts. 1-1 would have been a fairer result. Most limerick players did well and gave 100% but I think one or two really struggled and didn't look up to it. A few teams in this league should be looking to take points off Derry.

We huffed and puffed, but lacked any craft in their half. That said, with all our possession, and the number of half-chances we created, 1-1 wouldn't have been unfair either. I thought the red card for Lyons was spot on - if you're going to make that tackle, you get the ball or you're off, and he didn't get the ball. Was screaming for a penalty for handball, but it was definitely ball to hand, his hands weren't raised, and he was so close to the winger (Kavanagh) he coundn't really have got out of the way. If it had been given, it wouldn't have been harsh, but it wasn't really an injustice either. Their red was from 2 yellows, don't remember the first, but the second was either for persistent fouling, in which case I'd say it was correct, because he was persistently fouling, or it was for a handball, in which case it was pretty harsh.
Peter White was tremendous at the back, but we lack a midfield link with our forwards.

Decent enough performance tonight, but a poor result,
I think Robbie Kelleher could do a fine job if paired with Clarke for a run of games,
Roll on next Friday.

Looked like a two footed lunge for the red card and very dangerous. You's had a blatent pen turned down and I was right beside it behind the goals.
Delighted with the 1-0 but we can't play that bad again and expect to win.
Limerick looked the better team by a mile in the 2nd half and should have put away a goal or two,in saying that we should have been out of sight at half-time with a couple of great chances.
There won't be many teams taking points of you's at home.
It's a pity I didn't come back in here and read about the car parking as with-in 20 mins of me parking the bus across from the ground the side door was broke by a couple of wee hoods and only for the teams bus driver they would have gained entry.
Obviously not Limerick FC fans, but still a nuisance as I had to open the door everytime we needed to stop on the way back up here.

Clarke was in and out of the game. Did well tracking back but was caught flat footed a few times up front. Kelly looked more comfortable in defence than in midfield, won a lot more headers from there. I think he should be starting right full ahead of Boyle. Boyle is a winger not a defender and is struggling. Tracey had one of his poorest games and the game just seemed to pass him by at times. Kavanagh needs to pick up him performance too. Was impressed with Judge the last two games, he looks composed on the ball.
If Cahill is out injured for next week I think we should be starting with Kelly, White, Purcell and Deady at the back. Kavanagh, Hughes, Judge, Tracey in midfield with Clarke and Tierney up front.

Deserved a point from last night, starte way too slowly and looked very nervous at the back, the goal we conceded was very soft and despite looking good on the counter for the rest of the first half we never got enough men in the box We lost so its hard to pick out layers that did well, White played well after a poor start, Judge showed great skill all night as did Kavanagh in patches, the two up font ran themself stupid, Tierney needs to learn though when to release th ball keeps his head down too much whereas Clarke held up ball and went looking for it again after passing it off. He was everywhere last night tackling back alot in second half. We need them to start scorng goals, thought Kelliher would have offered alot in lat 15 mins but Scully obviously doesn't have huge faith in him, think though we showed enough to beat Longford next week

heard Purcell failed late fitness test and may not make it for next weekend either.Deedy had a mare of a game, pulled out of every challenge and his passing was woeful, was hoping scully would drop Treacy back there and take off Deedy.Anyone know how long till Molan is fit? While Robbie has worked hard off season he's no better than Clarke/Tierney. With Yellow suspended for next few games we might get to see Jason, which is no bad thing. Overall last night was not so bad and potentially there's a very good team there.getting a few breaks on the luck side would change a lot and give the players confidence. That said a win is a must next week - no excuses!

Oh boo hoo hoo.
Any word on the cheap Fred Perry imitation wearing scumbag from your bus that tried to rob a flag last night?? (And that was from your own ultras that he was on the 89ers bus, apparently all the scum travel on it.)
Now I'm not that pushed, he didn't get the flag, all we saw was the yellow streak on his cheaply clothed back as he ran out of the ground after being chased, typical child casual, hilarious stuff.
Now fair dues if he wasn't on your bus i'm only going by what I was told by Derry fans but isn't it a shame that Derry come down, aren't segregated because they're known as a good football crowd, and bring cowardly filth like that??

Big and strong without too much football being played.
Poor turnout form their fans considering their a "big club"
Cant take a joke. (ok maybe some of the songs were a little close to the bone i'll admit that)
Have a small section of cowardly casuals who run faster than a greyhound going round the Brandywell.
Now Id usually just laugh at these fellas however when they try and rob a flag its a different matter, Cobh, Shamrock Rovers and now Derry have tried and failed to do so, but the main issue here is that a genuine City fan nearly got seriously hurt because he was seen with the would be flag robber.
Other than that we could do with Superman and Moleman back asap, get rid of Kelly (not even trying at times last night) and pull a striker out of our holes somewhere.

have to take you to task here CS, limerick stewards turned back some derry fans at the gate as they tried to bring bottled beer into the ground. These same fans were hanging around your buses all through the second half so if they say they saw local scum then they should have notified the guards.....however i find the local angle to be unrealistic as the said derry fans were walking around the buses and the general street, ****ing on the street and in peoples gardens.
Inside the ground some derry lads (with white blood comming from their noses) wondered around drunk and later tried to run off with a flag while shouting "pikies" at the limerick fans.
hope you made it home safe but id say the biggest worry was the ****e on your bus

The bus I was driving was damaged between 6.45pm and 7.35pm.
I stood outside with the team's bus driver and myself taking turns at times during the game, so even though you thought it was people who were on the bus I was driving,it wasn't as the teams bus driver said they had local accents and ran up the street. The guards were phoned and they did patrol the area during the game.
The two guys you are talking about had no interest in football and it wasn't them who came out at half-time to get a can of beer.If they did I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have gained entry back in for the 2nd half.
During the 2nd half I was standing near the exit gate just beside the stand,I know that obviously something happened as a few lads on the bus were calling the guy you're talking about a di*khead etc,I seriously didn't see what it was as I was at the bus seconds after the final whistle.I had given them a seperate alarm tag to open the bus with myself holding on to the ignition key.
I have been asked to drive buses from most supporters clubs since 1990 and if it gives me the chance to earn some money and also get to watch Derry City I will continue to do that.
A silly argument anyway as most clubs including your own obviously have people who don't mind starting trouble, although stealing flags is not nice pulling weapons should not be classed as exactly the same wind up crime.

really poor first half performance, molloy ran the show and derry the better team though clarke did miss a great chance.lyons attempted....tackle was cowardly to say the least, deserved to be off.2nd efforts were excellent coupled with derry,s fragile mental state left us a great chance to get something from game, should have scored from at least one of deadys setpieces, which lets face it is the only reason you,d have him in the team.peno looked stonewall to me both linesman and ref bottled it.defo need purcell back cahill not up to it though willing, thought judge looked promising but knocked off possession too easy, tierney again excellent technically good ,worked hard as did clarke but these lads wont score enough goals.and before we cast assertions on our derry supporter friends we should look to home first, plenty of our own had bottles inthe ground .btw the chants in the shed were a disgrace.

Wind up yes...and it doesn't bother me. There were a few extra family punters in the crowd Friday night though and I noticed a few of them being a little put off. Pro or anti is not a big deal I think, more the profane chants. Just might not help to bring as many of them back as possible. Having said that, when the ref is clearly a little rotund and behaving like he has no father, its hard not to have a certain something communicated in song. The shed do some great singing and have a lot of good chants....some even clever & funny! And the lady punters do like a good chuckle.

Results bring people back tbf.
You're never going to attract families to Jackman with family friendly "Facilities", you'll attract people if the team is winning.
818 there the other night, you can half that and take away 50 next week, not because there was some retarded singing going on (some of it was good, some retarded tbf), but because we lost 1 - 0 (same ol story infront of a crowd) and we will be playing Longford (whoever the hell they are)

My thoughts on last Friday:
1) The Derry City number 2 is a mouthy little ******, and Clarke should have decked him on several occasions.
2) We deserved at least a point. How we didn't score is beyond belief. Although it is positive to see how well we played with 10 men.
3) Martin Deady needs to come out of his shell a little more. In the first half during the build up to a Derry corner, Davy Ryan ran out and actually thumped Deady in the body so as to move somewhere else. Deady being the quiet lad he seems to be, just accepted his thump and moved. When really he should have grabbed a table and suplexed the goalkeeper through it.
4) The poster Bluewhitearmy is awful at predicting scores. I was closer this week.
5) A poster of this board referring to someone as 'Viagra Head' during the whole song / chanting argument was quite humorous and garnered a chuckle or two.
6) I was disappointed nobody ordered pizza.

then the maths are wrong. they paid 1.4 milion for it, 300,000 for the markets field itself and 1.1 million for the old eircom building (as they were forced upward by a rival bid) how they can now owe 2 milion on this property is beond maths. maybe, maybe they owe the money on there everyday accounts but not for the markets field.
They are getting a state sponsored new stadium on the dock road, brand new and free. Adding to the €177 million the irish tax payer has given the little horses in stadium builds all over the country. And guess what? there as empty as mervue or monaghan on a good night. The deal will go through but for far far less thn 2 million

Probably €2 million is a fair assessment if you take into consideration interest repayments and get out penalties on a €1.4m mortgage.

Its a shame our scumbag element showed up. I thought/hoped they were liquidated along with the previous board. If its any consolation they are equally as hated by most of our support. Hopefully our new board will do all they can to stop them getting into grounds.
As for our big support, don't know who told you to expect hundreds, 80-100 has been our regular away crowd for most games for the last few seasons and even less for those few games further south than Dublin. Whatever about the excitement of the new club, its the First Division and its the guts of 11-12 hours driving there and back.
