good idea to reduce the prize money at the top end but should be redistributed amoung the rest. but can understand the reduction is in keeping with economic situation we find ourselves in (and the need to feed the monster out in lansdowne road )will this mean a reduction in registration and referees fees for clubs.
Will this mean Bohs budget will have to be revised again? :D

yeah, interesting that prize money went down, despite the arrival of a new title sponsor
The RTE story (presumably just the FAI press release) went to such lengths to skirt around a comparison to last year's figures that I assumed the money was down more than the 13% it actually is.

Think the reduction in prize money is not good, considering the waste that they spend on the international team, and the deal that Eircom could get away with not supporting the LOI but sticking with the national team. What do you expect from a muppet like Delaney anyway

Don't see how the reduction in prize money could be in any way positive but not surprising that it happened really. Can you imagine trying to sell the league to prospective investors during the daily barrage of bad news that we had over the close season ? getting a decent sponsor is an achievement in itself.
