Marking forums read doesn't work for me. They just still appear as if there's new posts in them. And I get logged out a fair bit, at one point today, it took me 4 or 5 attempts to log in.

I'll be running a full index tonight, so if the forums are slow later, you know why.
The login issues will have to wait until after 4.0.2 is rolled out here, a lot of small bugs will be fixed in that.
get the last read post thing sorted asap, great feature.
still hating the colour.
i cant tell one smiley from another
is the thanks function coming back?
Cheers

The indexes are rebuilt now, so search results should be relatively normal. Damn thing took the whole weekend and it was interrupted by a power cut in my gaff, which means I'll need to run it again. I also need to run another long query to update posts with the correct URLs, but that'll take some time too, it'll have to wait. Everything else will have to wait until 4.0.2 is out.

So am I correct in assuming we will eventually get the old skin (or something like it) back and this new look is not permanent?

So am I correct in assuming we will eventually get the old skin (or something like it) back and this new look is not permanent?Yes. It'll be a week or two before a proper Foot.ie skin is in place, but I'll get something a bit more defined in place by the weekend just as an interim measure.

FYI the update has been pushed into next week. I'll have a template by then too, working on it now.

There's no quick navigation on the new posts page; is that intentional?

Search function doesn't have the option to search a particular forum either, you have to go into the actual forum itself now. That was pretty handy.

My invisible post problem has been resolved :)

Noticed a couple of things the past day or two.
1) Certain posts have a massive gap between the top of the post, and the text in the post, more often than not when its a reply with a quote
2) In this post http://foot.ie/threads/121515-Cork-City-Revenue-winding-up-order-adjourned-again?p=1322730&viewfull=1#post1322730 the final word on the first line is the first word on the second line.
First time I noticed I thought it was a user error, but its a regular occurance.
Just letting you know.

Can you give me an example of the first issue please Kingdom? There's definitely some spacing issues, but I tend to see them at the end of posts rather than the start. These are caused by a complete change in how the app is styled by the way, vB4 uses CSS almost exclusively, so we'll probably have minor issues for a while.
I don't understand your second point tbh, the post flows fine for me. Perhaps a screenshot?

BTW, Gaz Edmunds did a theme for me, but it wouldn't load into a development site for me, and caused issues with the main site, so I had to move it to another IP address. I'll work on it again this weekend.

A load of examples on this page (http://foot.ie/threads/130342-Uniquely-Irish/page12) Adam, starting with smellyfeet's post at the top.
Edit: aha, there you go, you don't even have to click the link, here's an example right here ^^^ :D
regarding Kingdom's second pont, it does happen quite often.
It seems to me that if someone types all the way across the "box" it duplicates the last word of the first line as the first word of the second line. I'll look for an example.

I don't see a problem in either location. I guess it must be browser-specific.

an example would be post #3155 on the Cork City thread (page 158 by Frank76). It duplicates the word "to". Its probably not the best example but i have seen it enough times for it not to be a user typing error.

Just right-click on the number to the right of the post and copy and paste in here.

Can you take a screenshot of the problem SkStu? I can't see anything wrong with it, so it could be another browser bug. See attached.

Just home, it's definitely a browser issue. I use firefox at home and the errors aren't presenting themselves. In work we have to use IE. What version of IE I'm not sure!

If it's IE6 I'm afraid you're stuck with it, as I'm not supporting it on Foot.ie. If it's IE7 I'll take a look at though. Let me know on Monday please.

It's IE6 I have in work too and I have all of the above issues, it's an absolute disaster to be honest.

It's a bit of a hack at the moment, the original developer was on the missing list, but he's back now. I'll update it in a few weeks. If I don't, ping me and I'll get to it.

A couple of strange things happening in the last while. I got logged out and posts seemed to dissapear, I think everything is back now though.
i clicked on this thread from outside the forum and it brought me to MagicMe's post looking for Derrys phone number...

There's a-doin's a-transpirin'...
I think the whole thing moved to a different domain for a bit (part of beecher.net) as I posted a thread about this where I linked to a forum and it had that url
back to normal now it seems
Still seems to be alternating between Foot.ie and DEVELOPMENT foot.ie when pages are loaded.

Second time that happened, it's weird, Apache shouldn't be allowing that to happen. I'll try it on a differnt server, should be back to normal now.

Shouldn't be happening TheBoss. Try hard-refreshing the javascript with CTRL+F5.

And I get logged out a fair bit, at one point today, it took me 4 or 5 attempts to log in.This is still happening to me the whole time. Only on the laptop though, not the PC. Has the update that was meant to solve it happened yet? If so, any idea why this would still be happening?
I log in and it takes me to the 'thank you for logging in' message but then when the forum comes up it's as if I'm not signed in. But if I refresh the page, I'm signed in.

Given that there isn't a rash of complaints and it's only happening on one of your machine, there would seem to be something at issue on the laptop. Is it running the same OS and browser, and versions of these? Have you tried hard refreshing with CTRL+F5, clearing your cache, and clearing your cookies?
