No, because Derry City Football Club have been in existence since 1928.

The first Derry crest is ok, hate the second. Arsenal seem to have started off the modern crest shape.. Do clubs change their crests for copyright reasons like they do in the EPL? Know Arsenal did it to stop counterfeit items...

Another first for our league will be the 4m colour video screen to replace our crappy score board. Can't wait to see that in action.
Cool ! How much did that cost ?
...... suppose it doesnt really matter.

No, they went out of Business in 2009 bringing huge debts with them.

The Derry City who will be playing in the first division has to be a new club which was set up in 2009, otherwise they would be still in debt.

Printing teams financial history on their crests would make it very hard to stitch.

The new screen is in association with Boylesports, and is part of a new sponsorship deal.

Boylesports won't be the shirt sponsors, they're going to be announced in the next few weeks.

Ya but they were formed just before half 7 so thought they would put the time down instead of the year.

Im sure double stitching would make it easier.

New away one for us apparently, cause Jako have stopped making the black & gold one.
Home jersey staying the same, which will be our 4th season with it.

Combination of player names - current and past and sponsors who entered a raffle to be main sponsor.

I didn't realise it was related to a sponsorship raffle. I thought it was a commemoration to mark the achievements of 1989.

The "new" Derry City will have new home and away kits.

Will derry city be changing their crest Maribor?

If you read it clearly pauro i believe that it had all the names of derry city greatest players...

It'll be our 3rd season with this Red and White design, not fourth.

We wore in in '08, '09 and now again in '10.

In 2007 we wore this

And in '06 and '05 it was this

I dont like when clubs move away from their traditional jerseys, Sligo for eg, I will always think of them in Red/White stripes, not all red top. Finn Harps too I think started off with Blue/White stripes changing over to all Blue tops. Other changes and more biazzare were when Limerick Utd changed from Blue tops/white shorts to Yellow tops/Green shorts, name change to Limerick City in the mid 80`s. Looked like Norwich City joined the LOI for a year or two. They had a good side those days, some top 4 finishes too - Lim City that was!

Harps original colours were White top and Blue shorts.

I f**king hope not, the crest that this is based on is by far and away better than that rehashing of it.

I'm disappointed to hear Harps are reverting to the white shirts. I'm guessing the design will be something similar to that used to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their admission to the League. The white jerseys are just too plain and dull.

The blue shirt, white shorts and socks combination is preferrable for the home kit while I must say I quite liked the yellow and navy away kit worn when they won promotion in 2007 so a strip along those lines would be welcomed.

The White shirt will not be as plain as the 40th Anniversary one (although the players and former players that day loved them).
We have shown the jersey around a good few folk and all agree that it's a lovely Jersey as is the Blue away.

That red Dundalk shirt is the same design as the Rovers purple 2009-2010 away shirt.

We started 1 season with a Barcelona style kit ... unfortunately it didnt suit our style of play. Think Joey Malone was manager that season. Went back to blue & black after a few games but it was not of the striped variety, it was blue with some white above the chest and a black line around it. Awful looking thing. Jeez, I thought that was one of the nicest Harps shirts we've ever had and if it was similar I'd be delighted.

After some other contributors did some detective work - we deduce it'll resemble the new Santos jersey - except in red and black

Well with what Umbro has given for the last year or so (Not including the disaster that was our home shirt, though it was a knock off) I can see the Bohs, Rovers and Pat's one's turning out very nicely indeed.
