I have heard very little so far.. I saw Adrian Murph in blazers over xmas and didnt get a chance to talk to him to get his thoughts on it..I would like to see him stay with us as he had a reasonable season with us.

Your more than welcome to Jinks, absolutly useless last season

Always played well for us. His heart was obviously not in it with ye.

Well thank **** for that anyway. Russo played well once every so often, but Jinks was absolutely rubbish.

Neither are a huge loss and can be replaced handily enough. Russo was the better of the two last season but he was average enough. Still they didn't cause any problems as far as I know so good luck to them. Up to a point obviously!.

I second that on the two lads.. Russo was the better player of the two.. I wonder what players from Athlone we will nick from this preseason??:D

Magee is a decent enough striker but there's not (m)any others I'd be itching to sign.

If I could take any of their players I'd go for David O'Connor or Thomas McGauley. Wouldn't exactly break the budget to get any of the rest...

McGauley left them half way through the season, not sure exactly why though

Noel Magee. He's a young striker, scored a few goals for them last season.

The striker who was banging in the goals for them last season

Sure there was no need for midfielders with yer style of play :D

Lil' Jinksy had a fairly good season with us before crossing the divide and
I was genuinely raging we couldnt hold on to him. But the way the club
was we were lucky to be in the league at all and so he went for a contract
while it was on offer.

Caz had great promise but his last year with us he was very hit and miss.
He left on a bit of a sour note and I wouldnt exactly be devasted if a return
doesnt materalise

Last time Longford showed interest in signing Noelly he said he'd rather give up playing than play for ye.

As far as I know Thomas was finding it hard to commit due to work, family and travel for training and games. Pity cos he was a good experienced head
and a real nice guy to have around the club.

.

Easy to say that as a young fella, it'd probably be a different story if we offered him a load of money and he was in need of a few quid. Not that we will, or can do that but footballers often say these things and then go and do whatever suits themselves in the end. I'm very cynical about players and their loyalty.

Normally I'd be similar to that but I do know some of our lads turned down
higher wages from ye last season to stay.

Other players I know agreed to sign for us but changed their tune when ye came in with a few extra quid. But hey, verbal agreement isnt worth the paper its printed on
