Are you not contradicting yourself here, we either play away friendlies or we dont.

Once we are not the home team we do not choose venues - simple
I was of the belief that these two games were played in Fulham as part of a deal between Fulham and the FAI, as Croke Park was not available/too expensive. Seeing that the team that played two years running was neither Colombia or Nigeria, I think this is plausible.

As for being the away team, I beilieve that we are the away team if the other team is at home (in their own country). Simples! This has been the case on just seven occasions since 2000 while our opponents have been the away team on twenty-nine occasions. Brazil will be at home on paper only: Like the other games mentioned and those at Fulham, it is a fixture played on a neutral venue. A proper away game would be in Rio, Sao Paulo or some other Brazilian city.

I understand you actually lived in London but, if this is what you think, you clearly didn't venture outside of your neighbourhood! :D

tell me anywhere good after 11.30 or so in london on a tuesday night then thats anyway good PP?!

Ive been around kensington/the bush/hammersmith/lychester square as the yanks call it/islington/city/london bridge. and i honestly cant say i know a good spot with a crowd and good atmosphere after that time on a tuesday. Please prove me wrong though!!

You have me lost here, did we not play Colombia and Nigeria in Craven Cottage...
I know what you are saying about Brazil away should be in Rio or some other Brazillian city, but that is not for the FAI to decide.

You never answered what is wrong with the FAI making money out of friendlies..

It says on the FAI website that more details are going to be announced this week.

I'd wager it being £50 sterling.

Will the FAI be having any allocation?

Going on previous friendlies in London, it's unlikely the FAI will sell tickets, they will most likely be on ticketmaster, keep an eye here or on FAI.ie.

Tickets will probably range from £20 to £40, cant see them selling it out if prices are any higer them premier league games.

A quick google search shows that those touting sites are selling tickets at £90 already.

Or try www.arsenal.com. Afterall Fulham were selling the tickets directly for the last two friendlies at Craven Cottage.

Nothing on there at the moment though.

Buddy of mine reckons he heard cheapest tickets will be 35 pounds....cannot remember where he saw it, though.

I'll be getting the cheapest ones available anyway and moving seats if its not sold out. Saving the money for going out on the beer/pull with the lads after. Getting a big bunch of us going over.

They can all see the appeal of a friendly against Brazil in London...as can I. Wish people on here with stop moaning ffs.

Agree with ye there lads. Take advantage of cheap flights and have a session! I wonder is the Archway Tavern still going, on Holloway Rd.? The Drayton Park Pub is a good spot for pre match beers beside the Emirates.

Irish Ferries are doing Dublin-London one-way for 29 pounds atm - very reasonable, especially if plane tix end up being jacked up.

This deal saved my ass when I got stuck in London a couple of weeks ago. Be warned that it does take about 12 hours to get to London via Ferry to Holyhead, train to Crewe then another train to London.

As our tastes will no doubt be different, I'd not be so presumptuous as to suggest a watering hole that you'd like so this is a link (http://www.timeout.com/london/bars/search.php?fpath_AreaId=&fpath_CategoryId=&name=&location_str=N1&submit=) to the Time Out guide to bars and pubs in N1/Islington - a short hop from Ashburton Grove. That should get you started...

PP thats an easy cop out. IM sure age is dictating certaing things here :p

Ive actually been to 4 or 5 of those bars before, and they are the typical souless chain pubs or false gastro pubs.

Holloway road of finsbury park most likely for me before the game either Tommy flynns or the blackstock or the twelve pins most likely, before the game will probably be where ill be. Might then head into oneills in leicester square after the game if a few of us are going.

Depends usually monday and tuesday its open till 2 or 2.30 but Tom has kept it open longer in the past if there is a big crowd i.e. till 3. I can find out easily enough though.

Train back out of finsbury O shea, back in the 'Well' in 10 minutes

Tastey pre match pints in 'The 12 Pins' there in finsbury to, just round the corner from the emirates, nice and cheap to.

Booked this there now. Belfast City to Stanstead was only £35 including all taxes and extortionate fees.
