Anyone know when further tickets are going on sale?, people were told they were sold out on Friday night

I have to agree with whiteeagle here - anybody who wanted a ticket got a ticket. The club sorted out a singing section. We are playing good football , in a cup final and have financial stability. Fair play to the committee of Sligo Rovers. A hard working crowd who have done a great job in difficult time.

Ok, there may have been as F**k up on thursday night and if anyone was left without a ticket , it would be a disaster but Kevin L ensured that anyone who wanted a ticket on here was sorted out.

For someone to use this as an excuse not to buy lotto tickets and season tickets is in my opinion a lame excuse and i wonder if they really are true rovers supporters at the end of the day.

Rovers till we die(unless i dont get the ticket of my choice in the cup final)

That's the biggest part of the problem....

I have a feeling it's this Saturday 9am through Ticketmaster, KR. Probably wrong though.

Surely they have to put in more bucket seats after selling 4,500 tickets within 24 hours.

It would be a yet another big mistake by the club to ignore the hurt and anger felt by the likes of Showgies in relation to how the tickets were distributed and make no mistake these are 'true Rovers supporters'.

All Showgies is saying is that the club should apologise for the mistakes - as well intentioned as they were - that were made.

They are pretty handy to pick up in Dublin if anyone is living there or up that way.

Tickets will also be on sale from a number of locations throughout Fingal from Saturday, including:
Blanchardstown: Corduff Sports Centre
Swords: The Pavilions Shopping Centre
Balbriggan: Balbriggan Town Hall
Malahide: Gibney’s Off-Licence
Skerries: Ridgeway’s Barbers
Rush: The Michael Collins pub
Tickets will also be available through the North Dublin Schoolboy/girl League. Contact your local club to avail of special transport offers.

*As new ticket locations become available, this list will be updated, so be sure to check back for locations in your area.

Ticket prices are as follows:
Adult (covered stand): €25
Adult (uncovered stand): €20
Under 16 (Anywhere): €10

Tickets are limited and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is recommended that you get yours as soon as possible. As children’s tickets are extremely limited, preference will be given to groups who purchase children’s tickets along with adult’s tickets, e.g. families, clubs, etc.

For further information on ticket sales, you can contact the club on 01-8950135 or Tickets@SportingFingal.ie.

i would imagine that would depend on how the fingal tickets are selling? no point in putting in more seats behind the goals if one of the stands is only half full. from what i've heard the fingal stand will have plenty of red & white in it!

i have a ticket for the game so anything i say can also be dismissed a whinging, but i have a serious gripe about the ticket selling on thursday night. last year us loyal supporters were putting our hands in our pockets to try to keep the club afloat buying draw tickets & paying into games even though we had season tickets.

we get to a cup final & we start selling handfuls of tickets to people who do not support the rovers on a regular basis. sorry but that was a big 2 fingers to our loyal fans. i'm sure everyone who wants a ticket will get one & that is great, but to me that isn't the point.
Season ticket holders / 400 club members etc should have been given preferential treatment.
as far as i'm concerned the club just need to acknowledge that there has been a mistake.

Ps - this is not a dig at Kevin L. Kevin has gone above & beyond the call of duty to sort everyone out with tickets, fair play to him.

Have we sold our allocation though? I was told when leaving the showgrounds on Friday night that there were still uncovered seat tickets left.

Rovers till we die(unless i dont get the ticket of my choice in the cup final)

People who are aggrieved with the situation are not questioning whether or not they get a ticket. Everyone will get one as I've said in a previous post. However, people have a right to feel aggrieved or hard done by when the handling of the ticketing transpired to be different to what was expected.

I dont buy this "real supporter" thing that I've heard numerous times in the past 20 years in relation to somebody having a problem. Clubs like Sligo Rovers are in the public space and have to deal with PR. It's always give money, be quiet and dont complain. that's rubbish. People's grievances should be addressed and the club should be seen doing it, instead of sniping back with quips. Your post is typical of the "put up shut up" attitude that has prevailed for too long.

The club is run by valiant volunteers who keep the club running and we can rightly say we are stable. The effort and commitment shown by them is second to none and I know personally people involved and I often wonder how they do it. Nobody is questioning any of that. But post's like yours help nobody especially not the club. The ticketing didnt work out, people got miffed by it, the club arent happy with it either, individuals have apologised as much as they can (Kevin L has been as transparent as he could), but if supporters like showgies would like a full public apology (a quick statement on a website would be it all it would take) then he has a right to ask for it. And that would be it. Regulars like this should be looked after, and not be derided and labelled by posts like yours as not being loyal supporters of our club. That is wrong and uncalled for.

Pretty spot on post....although i think its great that there is so much interest in the final and the club in general at the mo i think its only right that the regular fans got looked after first...

The FANS that go to all home games, that go to EA Sports cup games on a bank holiday when most dont bother, that go to televised Setanta cup games when most dont bother, that go to mid week games in lashing rain when most dont bother, that travel at great expense all around the country when most dont bother.....i certainly dont think its unreasonable for these people to feel they are entitled to be looked after first on the ocassion of the biggest day in the clubs recent history.

and just to clarify - i'm delighted that there is so much interest in the club at the moment & i sincerely hope that everyone who wants a ticket gets a ticket. hopefully a fair percentage of the not so regular punters get hooked & come back to the showgies on a more regular basis for many years to come. it was great to see the place packed for the cup semi final & wouldn't it be great to have the placed packed for every home game.

An apology is nothing but words, as the old saying goes "action speaks louder than words". The club could pay for this next season with disillusioned supporters not renewing season tickets.

That is a strong possibilty.

However, I fear that the clubs attitude could be, "well if we win the cup, there will be a bigger demand next season, so perhaps we could live with losing a few regulars".

Chairman, Dermot Kelly wrote about the loyal support the club have in his progamme notes, the ball is in court for a resolution, I suppose.

tbh, I cant fully understand this aggrevance that some 'real fans' are geting so worked up about.

Surely the fact that the club has fought so hard, and successfully, to ensure that every fan (regular or not) will get a ticket shows their comittment to all supporters, no matter what their level of loyality.

Now if their was a smaller allocation of tickets like we first thought, then I would understand, but that is not the case.

it was a fook up but but if at the start of the year someone said we will get to the final but ya have to sit un an uncovered stand we would all jump at the chance. lets try to be positive. the club is run by essentially unqualifed (not saying as an insult) unpaid volunteers and thurs nite they prob thought they were not doing anything too bad. out of all the people there i bet the ammount of non season ticket holders was miminal . the ones selling were trying to give the season th a few extra and most people would have passed on extra tickets to people who deserved it. i got one extra and gave it to a nsth who goes to most games and even drove us to cork. wouldnt it be worse if we got no ticket. we need to kill the negativity towards the club they made a mistake, we all done it one time or another. when we put in the amount of effort and time they do then maybe we can criticise but for now lets move on and put our efforts in backing the team and creating a positive atmosphere for 2 weeks time. come on the bit o red.............

Well, I hope you'll deal with the two dozen tickets you promised me for the local ICA. They haven't arrived yet and I'm hearing stories about season ticket holders getting tickets ahead of us. You can stick them in the singing section if you like. They do a mean rendition of Amazing Grace and Abide with Me.

Is it likely the club will get any more tickets for the game? Will they(FAI) put in a second set of bucket seats at the South end to accomodate demand.

A friend of mine was told on Friday night(albeit by someone coming out of portacabin that he knew) that tix were ALL SOLD OUT after the game. 200 left according to the club. An announcement would have been good!

I suppose Ticketmaster saturday morning is the best option, at the moment!

When I got the 200 tickets for the singing section, I contacted Alan in the Trust and Sean in Forza Rovers. I asked them to come back with numbers and they did. They added in a few more each and that was it. I then had approx 50 tickets for sale on Friday evening. I met both lads on Friday evening and gave them their tickets. It was up to them to give out their tickets and collect the money. It was a pleasure to do business with both of them. Anybody who contacted them after our agreed cut off time was told to contact me direct and I then did my best to sort them out. The balance went on sale @ 6.30pm and I sold my last ticket @ 7.15pm.
One recomendation I would make if we are lucky enough to be in a similar position next year would be that I would have somebody in charge of each category and let them organise allocation etc. As I said, I had nothing really to do except hand over the tickets and collect the money - no grief or hassle.
So lads, the Club has issued an apology, the Committee are working their ass off and hopefully anybody who is not happy or has a problem re tickets will contact the club directly so we can get it sorted for you.
On the other hand, if the same thing happens again next year , then we will deserve every criticism we get.

Anybody that had an issue on here and contacted me got sorted. Anybody who didn't contact me, well even I am not that good.

Showgies,
As I said earlier, I accept that people got tickets that shouldn't have and that a lot of people weren't asked for ID. I was told the majority of people were asked for ID - Sorry.
I'm sorry if you think I am arrogant and my attitude is condescending but all I was trying to do was help people and answer any queries.
I apologised on Friday afternoon plus the Club has now apologised. If there is anything I or the Club can do for you, please feel free to contact us.
If you are not happy with the ticket you have, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do for you.

Guts and Glory,
Re: U2/Next/Early Bird - I used these as an example for CelticV3 when he said that all the people in the categories wouldn't have come up in the first hour. This followed on from PCSligo saying he advised his Dad to go up Friday afternoon to get his ticket. The point I was trying to make was that if you want something bad enough, then you will go that extra mile to get it. The first few lads that got their ticket off me on Friday @ 6.30pm were queing from 5.30pm - they were going to get their ticket no matter what.
Disingenuous - definitely not and I'm sorry if it came accross like that.
In relation to the "2 per person", I'm sorry if it wasn't clear that if you were a member of both categories, then you could avail of 2 sets of tickets. I think if each category was allowed 2 tickets, then I think it was a fair assumption that you could avail of 2 sets of tickets.
Please see "Redzer's Reply Below" re this.
Your question re "the missing 2,800/3,000 fans" - if a season ticket holder is allocated 2 tickets, maybe one of them is for wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend/partner/son/daughter who normally doesn't go to our games. I'm also sure some of the tickets the players bought were for family and friends who mightn't normally go to games. I know these 2 examples wont get you anywhere near the figures you quoted, but it's a start.

Redzer,
As a shareholder, you are entitled to put a motion to the AGM next January in relation to ticket allocation ie 2 per person , 1 per person or whatever.
I'm sure Guts and Glory will second it for you.
If you dont want to put it before the AGM, I can put it for you if you like - let me know what you want me to do.

CelticV3,
Re: U2/Next/Early Bird - see Guts and Glory above

Knappagh Road,
There's not a lot really we can do about what Strand Celtic do with their allocation but I'd be surprised if they gave their tickets to a non football person

Prodsc,
600 tickets go on sale this Saturday on Ticket Master and not last Friday/Saturday as we were told.

Dixie Dean,
If you are not happy with the tickets you have, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do for you.

Roversman,
Guaranteed seat for season ticket holders - I would have thought that there would be no problem getting a seat in the stand most nights but I will definitely look into this for you.

Avvenlaf,
I got a call today from the Clarion asking me "did I know anything about a brown table with a wonky leg?" I hadn't a clue what she was on about but apparantely somebody sent down an old table by DHL to the Clarion for the Dinner Dance!!
So when I get the cheque for the table plus the extra 600 euro for the tickets, then the local ICA can book their bus.
You wont be laughing in the near future when you come home to find 3 skips full of sand, 24 pizzas on your doorstep and 5 taxis outside!!

Tickets:
Anybody who still needs tickets should give their name and contact number to the club where hopefully they will be sorted.
We have asked the FAI for more tickets and will know in the next few days the outcome.
If there are any season ticket holders or 400 club members that didn't get a ticket or not happy with the ticket they got, please contact the club on 071-9171212.

Let's put this behind us and cheer on the boys in red in Tallaght.

The situation was poorly handled and the very short notice comment doesnt stack up when there was two weeks between the Semi Final win and when the tickets were in hand.

Tickets went on sale to the public once they were received and that is the main issue myself and anyone I spoke to had.

For example myself, my brother, my sister and three of my nephews go to every home game myself to many away games as family commitments will permit.

We eventually got tickets for all of us in the uncovered stand which for mid November in Ireland isn't Ideal when you have three under 12s (all super reds and super red camp goers) to look after.

Meanwhile while playing on the Astroturf last Thursday guys who only go to the Showgies to use the Astro turf were showing off their tickets - to say that p***ed me and other fans off is an understatement.

People arent making these things up Kevin - this was how it played out and this is what annoyed loyal followers.

No matter what the club may say it should not have been that difficult to formulate a strategy for the ticket sales given two weeks to prepare for same.

In closing I think everyone would say fair play to you Kevin for replying at 1.54am and being at the frontline for all the ire poeple are feeling over the tickets.

Fair play to you on that Kevin.

Line drawn in the sand for me, mums got her knitting needles out for the traditional Cup Final scarf!!

Apology accepted from me.

No use disecting the statement, another thread of arguements is the last thing I want. My only hope is that next season, Rovers will get the opportunity to learn from this experience and use better practices in ticket allocation.

I have also shelved my plans for my Cup Final banner "For all the people in the Main Stand, Rovers are in Red & White"

The real problem was caused by the FAI and SF....stadium too small and no pro active statemment about extra seats will be provided if there was demand!

SF cant give their tickets away and wont give them to us......bunch of kants!!! if they werent council backed they would of had no choice!!!!!

Think its time this was put to bed,ok mistakes were made and hopefully will be rectified if or when this arises again. The staff at the ground do a great job not just on matchdays but in the community and i think we need to applaud them on doing a very hard job,as i said as long as the mistakes are learnt then great. At every cup final wherever played in the world there will be people seeking tickets either real fans or sunshiners so this is nothing new and will be played out again and again.but maybe when entering the ground we were given a stub that you keep proving you have been loyal till something like this happens again and were given priority on the purchase of a ticket may help solve this
