According to the weekender alan keane is suspended and richie ryan is injured, which probably leaves us having to play camano again. Its unlikely danny will be moved back to centre half if ryan is unavailable. I was fairly optimistic about this game but im not so sure now. Would nearly prefer steve feeney to camano.

Turner did very well last time we up in Dalymount. Maybe move Danny back to CB, and put Raf in CM... Blinkhorn and Turner up front? I'd like to see Marshall given more of a chance than he has been given the last few weeks. We've beaten Bohs already this season, and were cheated out of the Semi's, no reason why we can't beat them on Friday.
Alan Kelly is ref, with it being on TV and all. Expect a slow game with plenty of stoppages.

Would like to see Morrison play in centre midfield with Conor O Grady and Marshall on the right with Blinkhorn and Raf up front. Ventre could move back to the centre of defence with Peers. Bohs didnt look like champions at the showgrounds and may be there for the taking if we are positive enough and try to take the game to them.

i fear a bit of a backlash although i still think we can get something out of it. afaik deegan is suspended as he was sent off in the game v dundalk, murphys not suspended until the next league game.
id give camano another chance, he clearly won the ball looking at it again on friday night, and won most headers. some people gone OTT on his criticism.
they dont score many goals so hopefully we'll nick one and get something out of it

Couldn't agree with that. Bohs will be seriously up for this. Fenlon has to start turning things around and somebody is in for a hiding at Dalymount. They will rape us in centre midfield with a Morrison/O'Grady pairing.
Essential to get some sort of physical parity in there and use the likes of Morrison and Doyle out wide to attack.
I hope he goes for the Ventre/O'Grady pairing.

I know what you are saying but we lack creativity in midfield and I would be interested to how Morrison could get on in the centre. Maybe this would be the wrong game to try it out but I reckon it would be worth a punt at some stage in the season.

i would have to go with ventre/grady midfield otherwise we will be over run - if morrison was there we would be more creative but this would put the defence under too much pressure!
We should go there, keep tight, frustrate the 10 bohs home fans and see how it goes?
Personally i dont really care about this game, its nearly a distraction at this stage, obviously i will be wanting to win but keeping the team injury free for the relegation games is a far higher priority....no point in being the cup holders in a lower division!

And no singing at old fella's that will intimidate and frighten them :P

id love to know what fifa's view on the jaycist situation is. a player guilty of racially abusing a fellow professional on the pitch, then he gets alot of stick from opposition fans, nothing agressive/physical, just a banner and a song and the club being threatened with a fine. would really love to know what they think on a matter like this.
bohs stewards as usual taking their moral high ground and threatening to kick fans out who say anything. every club in the league took a squad photo at the start of the season last year, and i think this year too, holding the 'lets show racism the red card' posters. contradicting themselves with this the FAI are

They would probably have a different view on Nazi banners

Does anyone know was JMcG fined by Bohs? I very much doubt he was. I know it's all been dealt with etc. etc... but McG should have had a heavy fine plus more than a 5 game ban for what he did.

sligo rovers supporters hae never sang racist songs are has racist banners.
we showed support for our player after a scumbag racially abused him. WTF does he expect. this is an utter disgrace!!!
i cannot understand how our club arnt standing up for its supporters who travel the whole country following the team. not one member from the club has come out and stood by the fans.
bohemians rang the club?? f**k them!! wonder did anyone from SRFC ring them when mcguinness abused boco. doubt it. would be better if they praised us instead of seeing us as a hindrence to the club!

wonder did anyone from SRFC ring them when mcguinness abused boco
I know for a fact that when Boco was racially abused that a lot of phone calls where made and letters sent from the Showgrounds to Dalymount park to let Bohemians know of the clubs displeasure at this disgraceful incident. And indeed on the day of the hearing both Paul Cook and Mary Mc Gowan went with Boco although only Boco was requested to go.Bohemians where well aware of how the club felt.I am sure that hundreds of our supporters will travel to Dalymount Park on Friday night and will probably be heard back in the Showgrounds as usual all I ask is that we give our reply to what happened on the pitch.

all im saying is that anything mcguiness got, he fully deserved. no one done anything wrong apart from him!
thanks for letting us know r.e. clubs reaction to boco incident. was only asking the question. rommy is a fans favourite, and hasnt got a bad bone in his body, and for some c**t to cme dwn from dublin and racially abuse him is unforgiveble. especially with the leagues supposed stance on racism. every game during the match the announcer reads out the rule about not condoning any sort of racist remarks etc and anyone found doing so ill be removed from the ground. the word nazi is not a racist word.
it'd be a different story if someone threw something at him or tried to go for him obviously. but songs or banners are the least he should get for what he done. if anyone racially abused a friend of somone on a night out they'd get a smack.

So are we even allowed to boo the pr..ick.....If were not not allowed to do anything then How come the bohs fans applauding him in the showgrounds dont get threatened with anything coz their applause for him could be construed as condoning racism??
Ill tell ya why its because thy were standing up for their own player{even if he is a racist pr..ick hes one of their own} and anyone singing the jason wherever you may be song was standing up for our own.and will somebody telll the bohez stewards that its not actually a racist chant because the only person or demonination abused is that 1 swine.

im sorry but i cant agree with this threat from bohs. we are standing up for our own player who goes out everygame for the club and gives his absolute all for sligo rovers. hes a credit to the club and the fans and he was picked on for being black basically. totally and utterly OUT OF ORDER

you really have to admire bohs in a way.
they are completley in the wrong here but are trying to take the moral high ground.
They moan and complain about everything that doesnt suit them and they usually get away with things.
Its the same in the games, they keep at the ref for 90 mins putting pressure on him. They know how to manipulate situations on and off the pitch to work in their favour rather than just accepting decisions.
Maybe we could learn a thing or two from them

Find the whole thing sickening to be honest. I think you are spot on in everything you say.
There's no point giving the incredibly pro Bohs FAI another stick to beat us with though and even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with any song or banner we have to let it go now.
Leaves a bad taste in the mouth all this. We'll see how hard the FAI come down on them if Shams win the league and Bohs end up exceeding the 65% rule.

The Club must now stand 100% behind the fans, as these fans have demonstrated their 100% support for the Club and players over the last 2 years or so, since this group has formed.
They have game after game come up with some unbelievable banners and displays. They sing from begining to end, even if we are winning or loosing.
The JASON banner was a clear message to all, that Sligo Rovers will not tolerate racist remarks to our players. He was not banned for 5 matches for nothing. Sligo Rovers must defend our supporters against this Dublin bias. They must contact the FAI and demand this is thrown out.
A lot of credit has to be given to the guys who come up with these banners. I have spoken to one of the guys behind this banner, and he has told me it had a double meaning. The Tuesday of the game was actually the EXACT date of the 70th anniversary of the start of WW2. 1st September 1939. Remarkable or what? This banner was anti racist. Sligo Rovers is anti racist and our supporters are anti racist.

I'm going up to Dalymount to see a football match and cheer on Sligo Rovers to a place in the Cup Semi-final and to be honest nothing else is on my agenda.
While I have no sympathy for McGuinness whatsoever I don't think it is for me to display moral indignation on behalf of another person for something that is in the past and that by all appearances has been dealt with by all parties who have moved on from it, particularily Romuald Boco who I suspect has no desire to see all this become an issue again.

LOL at the whole Jaysist thing it obviously got to him and Fenlon , anyway back to game we have to start Ventre and o'grady in midfield or else bohs will plough through us so it looks like we will have to chance Camaro at the back not much choice unless Gerry Carr fancies a game would keep Morrsion on the bench as Cash is playing great at the moment its like having a new signing , anyone going to the game needs to be wary of the bohs stewards as they love a chance to refuse admission they are external and hired by Bohs and don't care about loss of revenue as they get paid anyway ,loads of bohs fans have had problems with them also so its not just us.

Its great we have boco back for this one, but unfortunatly the hero of last teusday, Alan Keane is missing this one and we will probably have to settle for Camano in defence again.
-------------Brush--------------
Boco---Camano---Peers---Kendrick
Morrison--O'Grady--Ventre--Doyle
-------Cretaro---Blinkhorn-------
That team should be well able to beat them, and if i'm not mistaken, we are stronger than what was put out in the EA Sports Cup, its amazing how the return of Peers can make such a difference and Deegan missing for them is a massive blow.

Anyway after they take the banner away we should be one up with Jayo on a yellow and complaining to the ref that the BOR supporters are singing songs about him been a racist (mind you the song has a very strong ending!)....the FAI need to get a grip and try not sterilise football this sort of tribalism and hatred of the opposition is what makes the game great!!!

This has been blown out of all proportions. It was an anti racism banner and as someone said, Bohs, have tried to take the moral high ground which is absolutely ridiculous.
On to the match, can't wait for this. Should be a large crowd of us there and a hopefully cracking atmosphere like the league cup game. Have a feeling something special's gonna happen. More than likely not, but one can dream eh? Danny Ventre to score the winner in the last minute of E/T. "I saw my mate.." :D

This is absolutely bonkers, how did any Sligo Rovers fan racially abuse Jason McGuinness at the Showgrounds on the tuesday night? Is he a race of one? Is he an ethnic minority? Himself poor and wee Pat were upset over the reception they got in Sligo and now they are calling us racists and threatening us? Maybe they will have a gagging order on us and any supporter found even opening their mouth on friday night will recieve a lifetime ban from all LOI grounds!
The FAI can't provide decent referee's but they are quite capable of censoring football supporters who are unwilling to accept racial abuse and dare stand up the mighty mister Fenlon.
This is about more then racism, this is about marginilisation of clubs that are based outside Dublin, and who's club names don't end in city. Sligo Rovers and clubs like us are at the bottom of the pecking order, we are insignificant warts on the LOI's map of Ireland. They would be more then happy to make an example of us over something as petty as putting up a banner highlighting that an opposing player has racially abused on of our players, but when it comes to taking action agains clubs failing to pay their players, make appropiate tax returns, comply with league rules regarding percentage of turnover allocated to wage bills, their silence is deafening, assuming, of course, they are from an appropiate geographical region.
If anyone is the subject of racial abuse here it is our club. Because we don't have the same fan base as Cork or Shams, because we are from a small town west of the Shannon, because we don't conform to what they envisage their perfect league to be, we are being singled out over something which, in their twisted perception, is questionable. All season long, we have been on the wrong end of some of the most outrageous and bizarre decisions I have ever witnessed but we still get on with it. They are now trying to penalise us for standing up for one of our own, for showing solidarity against racism! Well I hope we silence them on friday night. As Kevin Keegan once said," I would love it, love it, if we beat them" .(again)
c'mon the bit o red

Our fans are obv not racist. But when you use the word Nazi in a banner, as discussed before, it can come under that category. And yes it is not a race etc, but you can see how it could be looked that way.
I suppose the FAI looked at things with a clean slate and saw a banner with the word Nazi in it and acted. They can hardly let it go just because of what McGuinness did really. It didn't give us free rein.
Bohs stewards' are the worst in the league so what a surprise they come out with this. At the end of the day, there was no racial intent in the Jinks last game against Bohs, nobody here is racist and who cares anymore.
The banner may cost us a lot of money and maybe a lot more but it certainly unnerved McGuinness so maybe it was worth it on the night! We'll show them what SR fans are about tomorrow...

On another note I'm sorry to see a member on of the MC passing on Bohs threat to our supporters over the internet. If the MC are so concerned about us bringing ANTI racist banners to Dalymoan on Friday I would prefer them to call me like they have many times before in the past to ease their concerns.Firstly, what MC member passed the threat on over the internet?.
And secondly, they'd hardly be able to call each fan individually to ask them not to bring any racist banners/chant any songs. This request was for every fan, not just one fan so why would they just ring one person? Fair enough you're part of a group but not all fans are part of FR/BO'RST etc. so for them to be notified it's no good just ringing one person.
