I'm looking very closely at Dundalk to beat Pats on Sunday. They're at a very big 9/5 with Bet365. Considering Pats will have a tough game against the Russians on Thursday (albeit at home), and Dundalk are motoring nicely right now, I think that price is much too high.

Elsewhere, Waterford at 2/5 away to Mervue is not really attractive, but 10/11 on the ht/ft is. No handicaps yet.

Also, make a note that Waterford are playing Finn Harps tomorrow.

That's an amazing price on Dundalk and surely won't last. I'd back then even if they were odds on and Pats weren't playing midweek.

No Hills' odds yet either.

Shamrock Rovers -v- Derry City

This game is going ahead on Sunday but we’re getting in early as there is early value to be had with Rovers @ 11/8. Once again this week Derry City have a nice headache of a European trip, to Bulgaria this time. The games are piling up for Derry at the moment while Rovers have been taking it easy with friendlies thrown in to take up some space for the fringe players. Rovers will have almost a week to prepare for this fixture. The Northerners must travel to Bulgaria and play in high temperatures and will have very little rest before facing the Dubliners. Rovers are on a nice little run at the moment which sees them in second place, 5 points clear of the candy stripes. Rovers haven’t been beaten in the league since May 1st at home to Bray. Currently they are unbeaten in 11 games, winning 7 and drawing 4. July has been a woeful month for Kenny’s men having drawing 1 and losing 3 whilst only managing to score in 1 of those games. These sides have met twice already this season with Derry coming out on top, winning 2-1 in Tallaght and drawing 0-0 in Derry. However, the Hoops have turned it around since then and everything points to a home win here in my opinion. 11/8 with Boyles is nice and I expect Rovers to go off closer to 11/10 come Sunday evening. 2-0 home win.

Backing Rovers @ 11/8 (Boyles) 2pts.

Sligo at 7/4 to beat Galway looks decent to me, also chanced a few bob at 8/5 on DUndalk.

Unfortunately I think Waterford -1 at 5/4 may also be good.

I'm also eyeing this one up myself, aswell as RR's Shamrock Rovers 11/8.

EDIT: Sligo 15/8 with Boyles btw.

Galway v Sligo - Sligo @ 15/8 - 2pts
Rovers v Derry - Rovers @ 11/8 - 2pts
Mervue v Waterford - Waterford -1 @ 10/11 - 2pts

Then a 2pt treble on the above at about 12/1

What do people think of WUFC tonight at home to Harps @ 1.46? Massive distance to travel on a Tuesday for Harps meaning they'll find it hard to motivate themselves, they are also missing 4 or 5 players. WUFC have a full squad to choose from. Dare I say it but the home win here looks like a banker!

I already messed up my first bet of the day ....did Sofia away, when i should have went with Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv to win at 7/5 - damn:mad:

so will have to bet on the waterford game - I am just going for 2/3 goals at 11/10 - risky bet but i feel it might come off?

Mr A

The travel could work both ways- having gone that far for the second time in a few weeks the young Harps squad may be determined to get a result to make it worth it.

It really should be a banker for Waterford, but you never know.

Backed Bray @ 9/1 - who knows what team Cork will have out with all their players being free agents - price has plummeted now.

Also backed Wexford @ 8/13 v Kildare - what's the story with that price? (I missed Ladbrokes' 4/6) Kildare have improved but not THAT much - they're still one of the worst sides in the Division.

Only possible reason is that Wexford seem to be better away from home, but I agree. Since the manager change Kildare have still only picked up 2 results.

Anyway, my big bet of the weekend:

St. Pats v Dundalk

Dundalk are in red hot form right now and you can't put a price on form. They'll be facing a Pats team that will be run ragged by Sovetov on Thursday, and can surely take them. I managed to match a few quid on 2.86 on Betfair but this immediately came down to 2.78. Get on while you can, folks!

Backing Dundalk @ 2.86 (Betfair) - 3.5 pts

I was just about to post as I was wondering were Kildare worth a punt at close to 8/1? Wexford maybe overrated partly due to beating Finn Harps away. Harps were no great shakes when losing 0-4 against Waterford on Tues, and watching the game I just could not imagine how they managed to beat Ipswich and Fingal recently!

Actually PP never priced the game! Will price it tomorrow morning when I get an idea of what kind of team Cork will have out. It's one of those games that they could go all out to win as it could be their last game in the X.

Shamrock Rovers @ 11/8 (Boyles) - 2pts
Waterford -1 @ evens (Boyles) - 2pts
Bohs, Sligo, Wexford treble @ 6.38 (Ladbrokes) - .5pts

For Friday’s game, the Reds will now have to plan without the suspended Damien Brennan( and also without the injured defensive trio of Stephen Quigley( (back Injury), Kevin Doherty( (Calf) and Alan Keely( (Hip).

Our starting back 4 are all missing! Though I'd wait for line-ups as our team news must be taken with a pinch of salt.

Why would Shels seek to mess with Harps though? We're massive underdogs no matter what team your guys field, I don't see the advantage to pretending to be more weakened than you really are.

Unders in the Shels game was always going to be a toughie at half time. Shels 2-0 up, with one goal a peno and both sides down to 10 men!

Fingal win well and looks like they are getting their arse in gear, unfortunately.

UCD worth a punt at 19/20 on Betfair. No major reasoning behind this, just the fact that they're likely to beat Longford by the odd goal.

Best piece of news I've heard all day!

St Patrick's Athletic are back in domestic action after the European highs of Thursday, but they are missing their match winner on the night, Declan O'Brien.
O'Brien, who scored the only goal in Pat's' 1-0 Europa League win over Krylya Sovetov, is on loan from Dundalk and is not eligible to play at Richmond Park.

Sweet. C'mon Dundalk!
