Shamrock Rovers -v- Derry City
This game is going ahead on Sunday but we’re getting in early as there is early value to be had with Rovers @ 11/8. Once again this week Derry City have a nice headache of a European trip, to Bulgaria this time. The games are piling up for Derry at the moment while Rovers have been taking it easy with friendlies thrown in to take up some space for the fringe players. Rovers will have almost a week to prepare for this fixture. The Northerners must travel to Bulgaria and play in high temperatures and will have very little rest before facing the Dubliners. Rovers are on a nice little run at the moment which sees them in second place, 5 points clear of the candy stripes. Rovers haven’t been beaten in the league since May 1st at home to Bray. Currently they are unbeaten in 11 games, winning 7 and drawing 4. July has been a woeful month for Kenny’s men having drawing 1 and losing 3 whilst only managing to score in 1 of those games. These sides have met twice already this season with Derry coming out on top, winning 2-1 in Tallaght and drawing 0-0 in Derry. However, the Hoops have turned it around since then and everything points to a home win here in my opinion. 11/8 with Boyles is nice and I expect Rovers to go off closer to 11/10 come Sunday evening. 2-0 home win.
Backing Rovers @ 11/8 (Boyles) 2pts.
Happy days, great weekend :D
