At the risk of sounding like Dodge, my God, Shels are a horrible, nasty, petty, vicious little team. Any chance for some niggle, they went in for it. Bear hugs from free kicks, kicking the ball away for every throw or free, some nasty, nasty challenges (McGill and Keely in particular booked for a horrible and cynical foul respectively). Referee did nothing about it. Finn was an idiot to retaliate, and Hilda's an effing wench to somehow rule out our perfectly good equaliser. How you can be offside when the ball's played backwards, when you're behind the ball, and when the opposition keeper plays it to you is beyond me (or else how she called the ball out for a goal kick, which I don't think she did anyway).

Games like that make me really really hope Shels' season ends the same way as last season. A horrible, nasty little side. The day Keely leaves this league will be a massively positive day for all concerned.

Was delighted how we responded after going 1-0 down and down to ten men though. Some of the best ball we've played in the past few weeks. Finn's out for a game anyway - probably three - but hopefully we can use the experience of this game and build on it.

(Obviously the wall incident puts all that into context, before anyone points that out)

Boo f*ckin' Hoo!!!

On a happier note, I'd imagine there are some celebrations on the Kildare team bus tonight.

First win since the 7th of November 2008 :D:D:D wish I put some money on though, heard someone qoute that we were 5-1 to win any match all season three weeks ago in some bookies

Anyone watch our game with the gypos? What ye think of the ref? I think he deserves to be repeatedly kicked in the balls for that performance tonight.

Your manager sent his players out to kick and elbow Bohs off the field and the ref responded to that. I thought that the sending off was a terrible challenge but one which usually only gets a yellow. The elbow in the face on Oman ten minutes later was a sending off offence but got only a yellow. Oman then got a yellow soon after without any foul being committed which looked to me like a" ILL even things up" type of decision. I agree that he is a crap ref.
The same perma tanned Dundalk centre forward continued to lead with his elbow for the entire game without further sanction.

Bohs were at half throttle for the game and were missing three key players, if the Dundalk players had focussed on playing the game rather than pandering to Connors "their all against us" nonsense, a draw was there for the taking, even with ten men.

Was the idiot who ran across the pitch to attack the Bohs fans one of Connors new signings?

Anyway, 8-0 over the three games, would be nice to get into double figures for the series and then declare:D

Are you blind or taking the p!ss? Clearly rovers fans on the pitch before the wall went. As centre mid said the fans on the pitch didn't caused the collapse, but to say there were no rovers fans on the pitch and there wasn't a serge to the wall by the fans is naive at best. How they were allowed get to the wall is another matter, obviously stewards not paying proper attention.

People were standing watching the match leaning on the wall throughout the whole match. They didn't just get to the wall when Twigg scored.

Heard on the raido last night that a spectator was taken away with a suspected broken leg after the wall collapsing.

Yes a rovers fan was taken off to hospital with his leg in a brace, i hope everyone is ok that was injured.

About 6 rovers fans jumped onto the pitch from about the half way line, didnt have anything to do with the wall collapsing tho. From the tent stand it looked as if there was a surge of fans towards the wall when twigg ran over that way, to me it looked as if there were 2-3 rows of people on top of each other when the wall came down.

The wall was taunting Shams fans all day, it got what it deserved. Bray should be docked points for putting it there in the first place. And they only ran onto the field to avoid a mob of torch-wielding villagers who disappeared whenever anyone else turned their heads.

From RTE:

This has been pointed out on MNS. King nearly scored against us last Sunday, sneaking in at the back post. Surely Kenny highlighted this to his left back?

Btw it certainly wasnt our "only real attack of the 2nd half"! Yes Derry had a lot of the ball 2nd half but it was mostly huff and puff stuff and they didnt really create f*ck all. We had a few attacks on the break 2nd half including a Barrett effort that went fairly close.

Delighted you won for your own sake WW . Hopefully a club like yours, thats not afraid to be ambitious, can stay up.

Game between Waterford and Harps is off due to the weather.

Tight one as about 10/15 fans and the team had already arrived in Waterford before it was called off.
Unfortunate but there is nothing you can do when the skies open.

Town against Longford just called off, even though there is a big clearance on the way according to the Met radar.

Here is a picture in the immediate seconds after the wall collapsed (most people are still celebrating not realising what has happened). As you can see the "surge" wasn't anything like 3 people deep, certainly shouldn't have been enough to cause a wall to collapse.

Maybe one or two were, but not the level of people who were there after the goal. And my main point was if we take one step out of the stand we're jumped at and told to move back by the stewards. Why were people allowed lean on the wall in the first place? Should have been made stand back in the seating area

Danny ventre. Not the first time he's been sent off this season either. He has no brain cell in his head, no danger from the attack and he dives in. One of the last plays in the game too.

Just on the Bray incident:

FAI pledge enquiry into wall collapse

July 13, 2009

The Football Association of Ireland has pledged to launch an enquiry into the collapse of a wall at the Carlisle Grounds during a League of Ireland encounter on Friday night.

The perimeter wall fell in the wake of Gary Twigg’s second half goal for Shamrock Rovers against Bray Wanderers.

One fan required hospital treatment, two units of Bray fire brigade arrived on the scene and the game was delayed for half an hour until all debris was removed.

Twigg’s striker, his 16th goal of the season for the Hoops, ultimately helped Rovers into second place in the Premier Division table, five points behind arch-rivals Bohemians.
