Trundle was a guest on Sky's “Goals on Sunday” at the weekend and stated the only country he ever wanted to represent was the Republic of Ireland, and that he was flattered to be asked by Norn Iron but no thanks. The only problem is he 27 and, on his own admission could be fitter.

He was on TalkSport (http://www.talksport.net/default.aspx) the other night and said that if England called him up he'd wait for Ireland to come calling. I feel a bit sorry for him really.
Although, he must be taking some hope from Kav and Macken.

Apart from Robbie Keane there is no other quality striker available
to Brian Kerr.

Connolly - has had his chance, good enough had enough
Doherty - not a striker
Morrison - too light weight
Trundle - who ???

Unless they can make it in the premiership forget about them.

I'd add Alan Lee to that. Seems to do it for his club but for country?.... I'm not convinced, not on performances so far.

I find that to believe. He knows zero chance of England coming calling to 3rd division for forward so easy for him to say would trun down for Ireland...
