dromore 1 shannon 2.

We made hard work of it yesterday. Dromore aren't a bad teamand I can't understand why they are where they are. Teams will have to work to get anything out there. But we showed character to win after going down to ten men. Keeps the pressure on anyway.

We were one up and we had a man sent off as he committed a foul and was last man...dromore scored from the resulting freekick. There was maybe 15/20 mins left and we scored again with about ten left and held out then untill the end.

Colm treacy. Not sureif it was a straight red as the ref seemed to give him a yellow first. But there'll be a suspension anyway

Not really...Gerry Kelly was sent off in our last league game so he sat out our next(FAI) game but it turns out he wasn't suspended for that just our next league game(which was yesterday) so in theory Colm can play against Regional...but we'd better be certain of the rules!!! :D;)

The referee took out his notebook and yellow card from the same pocket together. He took the players name and took the red card from his back pocket and showed that. He never actually showed the yellow card, it just came out with the notebook.

Dromore arent a bad side at all. They played some good football on sunday and Deserved at least a point. They have couple of decent players and if they keep plugging away they should get the results they deserve.

Lads, are ye serious?Dromore are poor and for that matter shannon aren't much better. Its called football, try passing it,not kicking for the corners.

As always its a poor division, it has been poor for a while now.. There is not one team in this division who would be even be competitive in premier. In fact you'l see the gulf on sunday when fairview hit caherdavin for 7 or 8!!

Dont doubt there is a masive gulf...but comments like yours serve almost no purpose, what should teams do?? not bother playing because if they go up they wont be competitive...you have to try and show ambition and then try and improve you you do get promoted.

There are only 3 or 4 teams that are competitive in premier. These teams have the monopoly on the best players and all the other clubs are just glad to survive every season. I for one hope Caherdavin put in a good display against fairview and im sure theyll play some good football. 1A might not be pretty to watch but at least its a competitive league.

Your missing my point mate.. its next to near impossible to strenghten significally once in premier. what we always had in s ville was a nucleus of about 10-12 players that played rite up from u10's to junior level. its of my opinion that we've even underachievd over the past 10yrs with the players that came thru from underage teams..alot of in house fightin cost us dear imo. anyway.. most of that core has now moved on, and with no underage players comin thru we'd struggle along wit most in premier, wer punchin above our weight in this division.. we wouldnt be able to attract players in a pre season.. players in this town overrate themselves and wouldnt see us as an attractive proposition, despite our fantastic new facilities. anyway my point is.. we'd struggle anyway!!

I get that you only have to look at Geraldines this year. They have really struggled. They must be one of the only teams to get promoted and the lose players!!

But I do think you have to have the ambition and belief that you can get in there and then establish yourself....might take a few seasons of holding on for dear life but you have to try...no point in having the attitude that your going to come staright back down.

We in shannon have a large catchment area and over the years the best players have gone into town to win things(Gerry Kelly, Davy Wall, Philly Purcell) others have drifted away because at junior level we haven't had a competive team in a long time(if ever) but i think if we can get there (IF), then maybe we can attract players to keep us there, we have a new pitch that will be ready for next year and dressing rooms on the way....

I just think you have to keep believing otherwise whats the point!

if ye go up this year Shannonman ye will need to strenghten significantly. That was your problem the last time.
A few of your players tried their luck with park at some stage and didn't cut it in the premier, so def need to strengthen.
Hope ye go up (unless we get promoted then i'd prefer 2 derby games)
