View Full Version : Dundalk 0-2 Sligo Rovers Friday 29th May, Oriel Park
Well lads, enough talk of the Galway game. A win is a win so lets look forward to this. I think it should be a good time to play them. Connor seems to have a lot of problems at the minute and with their woeful disciplinary record they must have a few out.
As the season progresses it looks like the most important thing will be to beat (or at least avoid defeat) to those teams around us to move up out of the relegation battle. Hopefully then pick up a few points from the top four teams along the way a la Derry. A win would be nice to make up for the last meeting but I'd be happy with a point in Oriel. Tough place to play and the astro turf adds another dimension.

Cook has won his appeal against his sending off in Drogheda too so he wont be in the stand.

I'd take a draw too. Dundalk are in a bit of bad form and are due to take it out on someone in the coming weeks. Different surface too as Dong said, gonna be a tight game. Wonder who they'll get sent off this week?:p

i fancy us to win again friday nite, dont think dundalk are all that hot. we also have the luxury of having an astro turf pitch in showgrounds so hopefully we will be a bit better prepared than most visitors to dundalk. the back 4 look more confident and solid and if can get the service the strikers crave we should come away with the 3 points.

Hopefully its a good time to play them as a bit of turmoil there at the moment looking forward to the game think we will get a result as showing good commitment again , haven't been to Oriel since 1991 wonder has it changed much apart from the astro pitch.

If the lads cant get motivated for this considering the result in the Showgies this season then things are wrong. It's not going to be easy, hopefully a good performance, a rare thing so far this season.

Team news from todays Champion says
Cretaro is suspended,
parkhouse is struggling
Doherty is almost certain to miss out
and Almeida will have a late fitness test
Cretaro will be a huge loss, especially his pace on the astro pitch.

Cretaro's a massive loss. Will be difficult to get anything from this now.
Derek Tomney is ref.

Would be surprised if they did given I would have thought he would be entitled to, another after Bohs court case, nice pay off from the club.
How long was his contract for that he signed at the start of the season.

1 year.
Wont cost too much to get rid of so.
Would Joe miller be a ready made replacement ?
Wasnt he brought in a assistant manager before Connor even got the job by your chairman

How sweet that would be!:D If he gets sacked from Dundalk i can't see him getting another chance at managment over here and won't it just be fitting if we put the final nail in his Coffin!:D
Loving the way we were all warning Dundalk fans about Seanie and they wouldn't have any of it. Suppose was the same with the Bohs fans when he went there first.
On the game. I'm going for a draw. (Lets hope we don't have another horror show though, thats what i'm a wee bit worried about).

We should be able to come away with a win from Dundalk. Things are in a bit of turmoil up there at the minute and hopefully that'll translate to their team on the pitch. It'd be nice to drop that shortarsed chancer in it even more too!!;) Wonder what kind of odds you'd get on Dundalk finishing the game with 11 men on the pitch?? I'll go for 2-1 to Rovers, have to get a prediction right sometime!

Have to say I was suprised to hear Raf was suspended for this one due to 4 yellow cards, he's not a dirty player what so ever and I would have never have though he had picked up 4 cards at this stage of the season.

With the refs in this league, you don't have to be a dirty player. :)

Still 0-0, according to the lads commentating for it, Dundalk are well on top and havent heard one positivbe thing in general about us from them, even our wins they say were a poor team.
