In truth a bit of work & maintainence and the stadiums would be pretty good.

Turners Cross is probably the best of a bad lot.
What that man said. As gael353 observed we have the worst.

The best stand in the LOI is Athlone's, although we've yet to play in Tallaght so it might take over once I've been. However, can a ground with one stand count as a 'stadium'? Is a ground with four rubbish stands like Tolka better than a ground with only one very good stand?

No Tallaght is way better, because of the ability to increase capacity on three sides.

Athlone have that ability too. So do UCD. Lots of clubs have ability to do stuff. (Though admittedly Rovers seemingly will be doing it)

The person you quoted is describing 'Stands', not the ground. (although you weren't the only on to misread what he said.)
After being in both Tallaght Community Stadium and Athlone Town Stadium I chose the Athlone Stand over the one in Tallaght. Less Clutter.
For me the best looking Stand aesthectically is the curvy one at The Brandywell.
Other notable stands I've liked, the seats behind the standing area at Finn Park, the cinema seats at Abbeycartron, the pillbox-style/Old lads stand opposite the curvy Stand at The Brandywell.
Never being in the seating area at Utd Park.
Obviously the double-decker North Stand at Windsor Park is the best club stand in Ireland.

Please note name of road leading to the ground. It has never being fully explained to me the reason for the variable spellings, so that's the reason I tend to use either spelling..

To answer someone's qs about Terryland. The area behind one the goals at Terryland wont have a stand as its been left vacant in "memory" of the old "shed"(covered terrace) that was there in the 80s and early 90s(at the clubhouse end).I personally would like to see a stand there as the wind blows down the pitch from that end like a wind tunnel effect. So if there was some sort of stand there the pitch would be sheltered more.
Im still proud of the ground now and not embarassed anymore bringing barstooler friends there like i was 10 years ago.
