Kingsbury for Bohs was rubbish.

I could write a book on all the rubbish we've signed down through the years. Below are a few standouts:
Jesper Jorgensen, Mark Leech, Marco Rapetti, Chris Armstrong, Yeboah Mensah, Shaun Fagan, Stephen Gavin, Juan Rojas, Dimitri Brinias

Just to clear this up-
was it you or him was snogging his girlfriend?
;)
Ha, I thought of that after I'd posted. I was waiting to see would someone spot it. No it wasn't me, unfortunately. She was a serious looker if I remember rightly. Couldn't possibly be as entertaining as being well beaten by Shels however.

Didn't he insult Galway united fans when ye played us last season at the Showgrounds ?

Yeah he was fined wages for that and all. His worst moment in maroon came against Cobh last May, when he somehow managed to miss a gaping goal from 2 yards in the dying seconds

Thiam must get another mention. He was laughable. Utter rubbish. I know i am a Sligo fan but i seen this fella play about 6-7 times and he was behond bad. Didn't Drogs pay a fee for him as well? No wonder they went under.
Kevin Julian Signed for us not having played for anyone, then left us never to play again, took alot of money with him as well, the Rob MacDonald Era had alot of those ones and was very costly to us.

Yep. I'd add Ryan McCann to that too.

Remember he played against us for Galway Hibs(?). Thought he was the best player on the park, maybe a once off though.

Ah jeez where to start?
Gary Beckett, Sean Cooney, Stephen Capper, Declan Divin (although he scored one the best goals I have seen in FP against Mons), Sean Roddy and many, many, many, many, many more.

In defence of Chris Armstrong and Yeboah Mensah they never got a chance. They both got injured right after signing for us. I'd blame The Spoofer and his knack of signing injury prone players, not the players themselves.
Yeboah looked like he was going to be a brilliant signing after that friendly he played against Sligo out in Corofin.
I'd forgotten about Marco Rapetti.
Shaun Fagan was meant to be the next big thing. When we signed him all the talk was about a screamer he'd scored against Celtic for Motherwell. We soon saw why Motherwell let him go to Stenhousemuir and why they let him go to us!

I never knew that Martin O 'Neill could have bein a Limerick boss all those years ago. Our worst ever buys over the last ten years were Robbie Martin( poor value for 10k),Andy Myler( even though he was top scorer for one season), Robbie Farrell, David Freeman( for walkin out on us to go to america when we were in the fai cup final after the club lookin after him)
sini savic, ian wexler, david freeman

Don't let the Sligo lads see that!. He did his best and he was inexpensive too. He'd be a decent First Division player. Agree wth Freeman though and I've mentioned Savic already.

George O'Callaghan was a terrible buy last year and put the whole ship off course. Dave Mulcahy came as well, and by August he was shoutin' and roarin' at Mathews and soon after got his contract terminated.

Had forgotten about Freeman and Keddy (last season). Two of the most despicable characters ever to don a red jersey. If I seen either of those two sprinting I'd probably take convincing that I hadn't slipped into a parallel universe. Muck

I know Thiam did pretty poorly a lot of the time he played but I thought he really changed that second leg in the CL when he came on against Dinamo Kyiv.
My vote for worst Bray signing would probably be Stephen Gough around 2007. I remember actually being surprised when he did something good once. He almost always played crap or average. Don't remember him ever playing a good game. He just made so many mistakes.
Also, Ciaran Ryan was pretty poor.

In fairness when Ryaner first signed for us he had about 3 or 4 great seasons, think he just lost interest coming towards the end of his time with us hence why he gave it up.
For my 2 cent one of the worst players ever to wear a Bray jersey was your man O'Brien who came from Waterford a few years back. Truely awful ! Stuart Holt was shocking as well.

Neville Steedman in the late 80's. One trick pony.
He had a fruitful time with Rovers before he travelled west. Is it true that he bought a house on the site of the old Glenamalure Park in Milltown?

Yeah we've had a lot of shockers down through the years. Savic was one anyways. And Kevin 'Bobo the Clown' McCormack was a deputy for Digger and had to play one or 2 games cos Digger was suspended and had absolute shockers!!! Jamesie Farrell although ended up joint top scorer in Kenny's first year in charge with 5 goals was still brutal. Don't ask me how he ended up with 5 goals to his name!!! In recent years David Lee is a definite starter in our all time worst 11 and Dean Barrett!!!

Feckin hell, Kevin McCormack. I'd forgotten he ever existed. Yeah he was pretty crap. 'Skim' Farrell, Longford legend. Went to Drogheda after us, I remember him scoring a hat trick for them once. Lives in Engand now I believe.

Stuart Holt was shocking as well.
He's now living in London and working as a model and is married to a model. Some lads have all the luck. Took a great free kick in his day though.

Holy Moly we have had a serios amount of them!
In no Particular order: Stephen Geoghegan, Alex Nesovic, Keith Dunne, Paul Byrne, Baba Isaaka!, Vinny Perth loads more too!

Mark Leech- waste of space. He's done Pats a favour breakin his leg.

Ahh Keith Dunne, and his only supporter, a certain Mr.Wallace!:D

For me it was Paul Whitmarsh, a plus thirty year old English striker, signed by Pete Mahon from the LSL from Belgrove I think. He scored a winner on his debut against Shamorck Rovers in the League Cup but at all other times he was just so off the pace of the LOI Premier Division. He just wasn't up to the standard. He quickly faded back into the obscurity from whence he came.
He played for Ramblers too.
But the worst Ramblers player i've ever seen is Brian McCarthy who we got on loan from Bohs last year.......to this day I maintain he was the reason we got relegated. He played 10 games and in those games I think we conceded nearly 20+ goals!

Toss up between Ger Rowe and Stephen Gough for worst signing imo. Rowe for being such a let down and having a crap attitude, and Gough for being so bad its unreal

Who was your man o'brien??
That would be Kevin O'Brien. Played a few games centre midfield for us 3 seasons ago. He had less talent than he had hair

Apart from maybe Beckett, none of those really arrived on the scene with glowing references.

now im not Georges biggest fan
but he scored ten goals for us last season - may well have been our second highest goal scorer as well
Brian O'Callaghan was poor enough, Dave Mulcahy was shocking altogether though!
Gareth Farrelly played about 20 games in total for us over two years

Was that not Jason Molloy? I thought Leech had gone by that stage but could be wrong.
I backed Leech to be top scorer in the league at 50/1 last year... If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have backed him at 5000/1!

In my time it has to be Darren jack. He was 6ft 5 striker that couldn't jump, win a header to save his life or shoot. Really have no idea why he was signed.

On loan to us at the moment and has done nothing wrong that I've seen. I've only seen the home games but he was excellent against Monaghan, even sacrificing himself for the cause with a professional foul on his debut after a **** up by one of our other defenders that would have led to a goal in the last minute or so!. Kildare was a walk in the park and he scored against Wexford. Athlone people rated him extremely highly whilst with them too. Maybe he wasn't quite ready for the Premier Division or something.

Can I nominate Pat Fenlon......?
For Bohs:
Chris Turner - poison for Bohs though he seems to be doing okay with Dundalk now.
Andrei Peretoploytkin - just never adjusted to the game here.
In no Particular order: Stephen Geoghegan, Alex Nesovic, Keith Dunne, Paul Byrne, Baba Isaaka!, Vinny Perth loads more too!
have to say Nesovic is one of my all time favourite Bohs players. Will never ever forget that goal against Pats in Dalymount back in the Roddy season or his two fingers to the Rovers fans during the 6-4. Hero! :D

Mc Stay signed him on loan from Kilmarnock or some one the year Rovers got relegated. He scored two goals in his first game against Pats and was terrible from there on in. He would be a candidate for the worst player bracket.

Had it not been for a certain goal that he happened to score I'm sure Jimmy Aggrey would be up there. :D
I can't believe I forgot about the jokers Dave Connell brought in at Galway - the worst of the lot was Bobby Byrne - an absolute disaster of a full back. No pace, no positional sense, no good. I think Connell brought him to Limerick too.
Had our big money move for ex-St Francis striker Paddy Doyle not fallen through he could be on the list!

There is a certain player on the current Athlone team who plays in midfield and was ranted and raved about as an underage player a few seasons back and for me is a complete waste of space but as beggers cannot be choosers and the club is still at the begging stage I'll not reveal who this is. ;)
The worst ever Athlone player was at least 4 stone overweight had dodgy knees and almost cried when fans offered an opinion on him. That was a Mr Flanagan (I cannot remember was his first name Con or not). I've rarely seen our fans boo one of our own players so often and eventually the boos got through to him and he left the club.
