Heard that the Galacticos came from behind to grab the three points against Celtic. With Ballina drawing, the race is like a pendelum.

Manulla 4-0 Fahy
Scoreline doesn't do justice to game but Manulla were better side. We had loads of chances throughout the game but didn't put them away and manulla took their chances well.
We had a man sent off with 15 to go but game was over as a contest then anyway so no excuses.

Hi Quay Heart, last friday evening I received a phonecall about this post, according to a friend of mine it appeared to be referring to me, maybe you are or maybe you are not. I just want to clear the air as I know how quickly rumours spread around Westport.
My initials are MD and I own a dog called buster, but I am not the Leveller, just to get that clear, I would appreciate it if you refrain from making any references towards me being associated with the Leveller or anything else in your posts. :(
I have enough work to do at the club without getting caught up in your differences in opinion with the Leveller. Maybe yourself and Leveller would like to come and help me with some coaching?:D
Thankyou
I think you owe someone an apology Quay Heart........

mmm........im not so sure;)
Meanwhile the Port travel to the Heane on Sunday and if they collect the points then they will be champions again.
Surely this can't be correct. Westport are a point behind Ballina with 3 games to play??

I think barking up the wrong tree comes to mind....;)
The Gods of Snugboro. Thats a first. We had 8 first team players watching the game. 2 suspended and the other 6 injured. we had to use the 2 players that havent played in a few years to make up numbers on the bench because we didnt want to take any of the B team players as they still have a chance of getting promoted.
Agree it was a load of ****e to watch though. both teams safe so nothing to play for anyway

After you've read ETOO's explaination an apology is in order. Get your facts right before coming on here spouting rubbish. As regards the management they informed the club prior to the game that they would be stepping down. All 8 players had reasons for not playing. Heane won 3-1 so i dont know what your big hissy fit is about anyway? Very passionate about the Boro there MOssy???

Think Mossy needs to look at the table. Your right Westport have a point to make up on Ballina with 3 games left.
Fancy our chances on the last day of season to help steer the title towards Westport...if we do surely Westport will give us a sip outta the cup in the JESSHT :)

My theory is thus:
Port - Snugboro & Erris Home should be 6 points with both off form
Heane Away - Who knows
Ballina - Celtic & Fahy Home should be also 6 points
Manulla Home is tricky as they are flying so draw here.
Therefore if the port can get the points in the Heane they will be retain title....
Sorry if I was jumping ahead of myself.
And on another note have the Boro appointed a new manager ?
Rumours of an imminent announcement are rife.

Rare logic..!
Plenty more twists to come yet. Westport struggled yesterday by all accounts. We play Ballina last day, they'll not relish that game...

Nobody will relish Fahy but Ballina would be expected to win nonetheless.....
As for twists and turns, well this has been the twist and turn season. Nobody could foresee some of the scores so I suppose I was foolish to even guess the seemingly obvious.
Ballina at home have been the only major reliant indicator this year having only dropped 2 points to the Heane - Robbed they were :). And all their remaining matches are at the citadel:ball:

Westport struggled yesterday by all accounts.
That has been the pattern all season, getting through games without ever being spectacular.

Cheers for clearing up the facts here, think snugboro have alot to thank their manager for, without collins ye would be stuck back in division one playing home games where there should be a hospital car park ;)

McGreal and Kennedys absence from the scene this year has left holes in terms of leadership. Both are on the way out but there is no leader stepping up to the plate. Westport play lovely football still, watching them yesterday in the first half, but there is nobody to command the troops and no voice heard from 1-11 or from the line.
The least they need is a hard man in there to get stuck in and do the dirty work, tackling and general roughing up the opponents...I know Danny Scahill is one of the best tacklers around but someone needs to be there to give him the license to play the football he has become used to playing while alongside Brian Kennedy.

Look I told you already, so think what you like privately to youself, just keep me out of it, I dont want to be associated with the childish stuff that has been posted by both of you. :mad:I have been looking back at the posts which of both of you have already done and I think your time would be better served actually helping the club by getting involved with it. There are more Westport supporters posting on the site than what came to our AGM this year, but this is not surprising. Anyway lads enjoy, and if you want to help the club out with anything I am sure you know where to find me.:D

We moved from the hospital grounds(which served us well for many years) thanks to the hard work of the committee and all there work in raising the money for OUR grounds which are up there with the best in Mayo and Connaught. Maybe we could lend ye our committee for a few months to help ye ;)
Also we were an established Super league team when Collins took charge. the year before he did take charge we stayed up because the two that went down were just alot worse than us. Simple as. Collins did take us on a great run last year and deserves alot of credit for what he did. he realised that a new face will freshen things up after 2 years with the club, and decided to step down.
All the players are grateful for what he and Damien did in there time with the club.
Plus im not too sure if hes actually going to stop playing so he still could be involved as a player.

I'll give ye a clue.... ye cant play wit da ball without a GALE!!! so the other teams cant play with one. although Erris can play it with and without Gale.

I completely agree. any team could have won the super league this year cuz every team was brutal. if a team put a good run of results they would have won it along with consistencey through out the year it wud a been in the bag. but the season has been the worst super league in a long long time!!

Point, this is a forum for opinions, our opinions, you may or may not agree with them (and think in your opinion - childish) but that is just the way it is.
Apologies (well , I shouldnt be apologising, Quay Heart should be), for getting caught up in our discussions/rows.
Dont heed Quay heart all he wants to do is be negative, he has a huge chip on his shoulder against the club.
Fair play for doing a bit. If I was around I might be in a position to help, but, unfortunately, work is thin on the ground and some of us have to go where the work is, such is life.

Any more news on the new manager,Ive heard that it could be S.Gavin,if not does anyone know any other names that have been linked with the job.Whilst on that subject it will be sad to see than Johan and Damo go.They brought on the club in the last two years and with a little lady luck could have at least had one trophy

Gavin will take over for the remaining few games AFAIK. As regards a new name at present there is none. People who know the league know there isnt exactly a huge quantity of quaility managers out there looking to manage a super league side, lets be realistic. You dont get them more motivated than Yohan. The big difficulty is that (regardless of speculation) Snugboro dont pay management and will continue this policy for as long as circumstances allow. In one way this is ethically sound however it means there wont be a crowd of potential candidates outside Conway park banging down the door!

there seems to be a lot off good budding managers in the premier div.swinford lad deserves credit ,next season they will lose more than they win he might want a new challange.partry managers and westport b manager deserve their shots.im sure theres someone in castlebar who would like to make their name also.kevin cusack in westport is free.
just wondering what people think of the news that ballyheane are chasing gavin dykes(yes him)to be there next manager.its funny when ya think the people supposedly headind up the heane delegation were some of his biggest critics when he was at celtic.from whats being said money is no object.wud the league like to see dykes back?

By the Heane delegation I hope you not referring to the people that administer the Heane. It would be true to say that a contributor to these pages who was loosely connected to the Heane had issues with Dykes and maybe he felt just cause too, but he would be the first to acknowledge that his contribution to all Junior team matters is negligible. :)
So those anti Dykes remarks did not come from them that count:D:mad:

I say bring him back sure it might liven the super league or even mayo soccer up a bit...Think the league needs a high profile manager and if its true fair play to ballyheane for trying to get him... they have always tried to get managers with a good record and some new personal might kick them on a bit...
There not far away from competing at the top

Are Swinford and Partry a million miles behind Snugboro. What incentive would there be to change clubs.

Sure how much of the current Ballyheane team are from Ballyheane? Or better question how many of the team have never played for another club at the same level in Mayo? No offence to Ballyheane! I'm sure they wouldn't mind quality players coming in from wherever, we are the same ourselves, you cant be turning away good players if you want to push the club on.

I doubt that very much Good football. Are you telling us that your lads after flying up the divisions with local players wouldnt be full of animosity if bunch of new lads came in and got places on your team. Im pretty sure sure they would. Theres really nothing as good as a local side who can get results with local players and drum up local support! Thats what junior footie should be all about! There are alot of our team who have played since we rejoined mayo league in 2002 but we lose players from time to time and have added in quality players from outside the Fahy area. If Fahy thought like that as a club from the begining then I would have never got a chance (being from 20 miles away), also about 4 or 5 others are not from the Fahy area. If lads are committed to the club, do the training and show the quality on the pitch then they deserve to be in the team. Its great to have all local lads and its ideal but not always sufficient enough to push the team up to the top filght.

Let me see
Goalie
Sean Fahey 200 yards from pitch
Defence
Burke, Roach & Mulroe have came up through ranks Burke is Ballintubber and Mulroe father is Heane Man
Midfield
Coghill 200 yards from pitch Conroy 500 yards from pitch. Kelly came up through ranks and is Tubber man
Forwards
Sheridan 500 yards from pitch, Nolan 50 yards from pitch
Probably forgot some but backbone is local - not that it matters as some of our greatest servants were from outside
PB is still in charge as far as i know unless you know more than us:confused:
He well could be for the forseeable future but I have been told that a manager also with superleague experience has been lined up. If this is correct a few eyebrows will be raised in Westport & Castlebar.

Ballyheane always had the backbone of its teams made up of Ballyheane & Ballintubber lads, with some high profile names recruited in from time to time. It would be unfair and incorrect to indicate otherwise.

Westport would hardly take on anyone who has managed celtic before??

All I can say is this would be his third superleague team. Should be easy figure from there.
