View Full Version : Build Up To The Shels Game

There's a deposit section in the Kildare thread but let's get a bit of excitement going for what could turn out to be the funniest game of the season. A Dundalk win would mean we would only have to draw with Shels to cost them their return to the Premier, so I think I'm safe in saying the majority of the league will be urging us on here :D
It would have been nice for RTE to show the match, given it's importance, but such is life in Ireland I guess. Anyway my dream scenario would be Shels to be one up going into injury time and for Sheehan to pop up with a leveller in the 93rd minute :)
Danagher is out through suspension however and I hear Tierney might not make it with fitness

Would be two big losses there, hopefully Paddy will be fit with Danagher out and maybe have to play Manjor or give one of the other lads like Scanlon a run. Hopefully Tierney will be ok for it though. Think we are going to have a good support for this one. I was hoping for similar to yourself Joesoap, either a draw or win in the last minute would be sweet :D .... although i wouldn't complain being 2 or 3 nil up going into the last few minutes of the game ;):p

ye would be made welcome imo the more the merrier, just hope we can help ye and get a good result, after the last couple of seasons i think ye deserve to go up, a terrible injustice was done to Dundalk a few years back and hopefully we could join ye next year in the top tier, what about this senario Dundalk and limerick both win ye can buy us all a drink in Kildare to celebrate with ye

Of course and dont be surprised to see 1 or 2 fans from Dublins #1 club cheering us on either. :)
Plan is to crash land in Newbridge for an hour if ye do get the results needed.

I'd play Sheehan up front on his own rather than put Manjor in. If we don't concede they don't go up so packing out the midfield might not be a bad idea if we are stuck. Not what anyone wants to watch but I'd rather have 90mins of that than see Shels promoted.

Schadenfreude is the most Limerick of all sentiments in that it stems from bitter cynicism and negativity. :)

More than welcome. We'll be up for the game too no need to worry about that. The Kildare result was becaus eof a weakened team but no holds barred.
We'll probably give you kittens though in injury time if it's still level and we bring Dave Ryan (our keeper) up for a corner. :D

If you have ever been to one of these games you would no what im talking about.Last time we had them at home we were close to sell out.Yes i know the shed end was unavailable but our attendaces that year were not great and the rivalry between the two sets of supporters is huge.

Call someone who cares son (http://www.ccfcforum.com/forum/forums.html)
Bloody hell.
Personally, I want to beat Shels because their fans are absolutely hilarious midget filth, they would be one of the worst teams to win the Division since Cobh did it last year and they're nowhere near even a tenth of the size that they think they are.
That is all.

yeah thats like sporting franchise thinking we consider them a real rivalry. if the limerick players go in with the attitude so of the people on this forum have ill be happy....even though i know they wont. some here seem to imagine a draw with shels at tolka at the very least is a forgone conclusion for limerick. going to be a really tough game for both sides

limerick will win 3-0 simply because when we go up one they will come at us hard leaving gaps which we will capitalize on,TWICE. BELIEVE:cool:

I think most of our fans know it will be a very tough game. A draw would be a great result. We are the only team to have beaten you in the league this season at Tolka so no harm in being optimistic.
I think it will be a very tight game. If Dundalk score early it will pile the pressure on Shels.

People in exaggerating on forum shocker
My honest opinion is that we will lose three or four nil as it happens.
We are more than likely going to be travelling without John Tierney, Gary Sheehan, Paddy Purcell and Brendan Daly aswell as the suspended Dannagher.
Anyone who has any idea who we can play right full answers on a stamped addressed envelope.
Draw a foregone conclusion?? Fuppin miracle more like!!
Which bugs me because with all our players available we are better than Shelbourne

What must bug you more is that had you had all these players at the start of the season you could probably be getting promoted on saturday.....not sure you woud be better than us with everyone availible now in fairness but ill admit to being relieved you cant put out your best 11

Of our full strength 11 at least six of them would waltz on to the Shels team IMO.
