The Blues v The Blues

Predictions?

Waterford are quite clearly in the chase and will be throwing everything at us. Equally, I think a lot of our lads have really settled in the last few weeks (am I correct in thinking we've won six and drawn one in our last eight?) and will be as eager as ever. In fairness, we've been playing for nothing the last few games but we've been playing really well.

I can see Waterford walking away with a narrow win though.
3:2 A penalty at the Clubhouse-End to clinch it for them.

If we play the way we did against Dundalk and Fingal i can't see Waterford being able to handle us. We have the added incentive of having lost 3 times to them already this season so we owe them one.

2-1 to Limerick :D:ball:

Kevin's getting a regular game now after a patchy first half of the season. Became a regular at centre mid when Paul Mac got injured in May. Now he's back, and Mick Foley is out for the season instead, Muddy is back on the left wing.
He had a brilliant first half against Fingal last week (yeah yeah, I know) until a crack on the head knocked the Pele out of him. :D

Mike has had three chances to impress us already, if that's what he was at, but hasn't taken any. I've a sneaking suspicion that this time might be different though. Am far from confident with all the extras going on this time. This will be a big test of the size of our roundy ones.

Dont care what he said, and I dont want us to roll over to anyone either, Out of the 4 contenders id happily have Dundalk promoted for several reasons, the main one of which is that its a long drive on a Thursday night.

One of the sillier things I've read today, if you don't mind me saying Gael. Yeah we bludgeoned ye out of it with our big wads of euros. :D
Same way ye can lord it over Dundalk because their players are paid buttons... oh, wait a minute...
Don't forget we've experienced Magic Mike's management before, it's pretty obvious why we've had the best of it so far. Like I said above though I'm not nearly so confident this time out.

Your budget (which enables you to buy better players) is far far greater then ours. Your budget is now (or before you went into meltdown earler in the season), bigger now then when MK had ye in the premeir! You have the 3/4th biggest budget in the first division. Did you ever hear of budgets or financial wealth being good reason for teams winning leagues or having good seasons before? how is that silly? Cronin aint no genious remember we used to meet him when he had kildare

The point you ignored there is that there's no reason to look beyond the managers for the results in our head-to-heads this year.
The silly point is where you use the issue of funds so selectively. How come us having the upper hand over ye is down to money but ye having the upper hand over Dundalk isn't?
Oh, and this is Cronin's first managerial position, he never had Kildare.

I'm almost sure we have the 5th or 6th biggest budget in the Division BTW, certainly no higher than 4th.

no dundalk have problems playing young fast teams on their pitch IMO, and have trouble playing teams with pace in general again IMO

my thoughts exactly when i saw them earlier in the season in comparison to Dundalk and Shels.

Great win tonight and well deserved, played some great stuff, our attacking ability is brilliant. every player on the pitch was busting their balls for each other. if we keep this up next season its going to be a great season.

Crisp passing, so much confidence, we were constantly taking people on and never looked afraid to take our chances. One of the main causes of our mid season slump was the inability to finish moves - they'd die on the edge of the area and we'd be left chasing back. But last night we were fantastic. Five great goals. All well taken to be fair to the lads. Davey Ryan's header was one of the best I've ever seen - he literally bent it around Flappy Holdnothin.

Keep this bunch together and we can really push on next year. Anyone who was there last night saw a top class first division side who played an excellent and stylish game.

The night was made by the stickers of course, which will adorn my college books until I drop out. :D

Ah hold on, I didn't say that now. ;) Shouldn't have said silly there either, though I still wouldn't agree with your assessment. The point I was making was about the relative personalities involved. Ye played well against us down here last time but didn't push on and ended up losing 3-1, that was down to your manager's style IMO, that's what I was getting at, we saw plenty of that in his time here.

no dundalk have problems playing young fast teams on their pitch IMO, and have trouble playing teams with pace in general again IMO Last night showed that Dundalk are not alone in that. :D

open to debate my friendWell, we're not arguing 4th at least, though my info is that we're behind at least one more side. Never meant to suggest that it was ye, if that's what you thought, I know yours is much lower.

Glad you liked that! Think you'll be a little disappointed with today's though.
I didn't make the game in the end but from what I heard and read, and in particular talking to one of the players today, Limerick were simply outstanding last night, and were almost unstoppable going forward. Waterford simply weren't at the races in comparison, and even Cronin said afterwards that the penalty was very soft, it should have been 5-0. Limerick can only be applauded for the way they played and the way they took us apart.
How's that?

Great game and proof that we have the best footballing side in the division, and possibly/probably the best manager. Other good news this week was the Trap dinner which made many many yo yos and keeps us afloat for a while at least. It was the best function ever put on by a limerick footballing side and all credit has to go to the CEO for that. Nice to see our main sponsor LIVE95 cover the bore all draw rugby game in Thomond, but other good news came when Aidin Corr of the limerick leader retired :D As for the wexford thing, a whitewash if ever there was one and no we will not pay the €1000 as it will be appealed. The three points? **** um we're well capable of gaining 10/12 points out of the remaining 12 points available.

no wonder leo got banned with comments like these.we WERE brilliant v waterford and v fingal, just as we were toothless v mons before that as we were in quite a few other games throughout the season.our possibly, probably best manager has admirably turned it around with 2 signings sheehan and tierney but was also the same manager who failed to fulfill a fixture and signed the likes of cosgrave, mcarthy, curtin, etc.the 3 points, well if we were in the top 4 or the bottom 3 MK would not have put the players on that bus.

Never mind the other boys Bishop there just jealous they can't be perennially negative either! I mean they'll probably actually smile when we beat cobh next year. Sickos! I even overheard one saying he wishes that the club was underperforming, up to its eyes in debt and at the behest of a lunatic like Drew again just so he could be half as negative as you.
