... Apparently.
Trying to encourage Drogs players to play for Bohs. No more details yet but he has been told to stay away.
Any Bohs fans know if the pre-contract was signed over the summer?

Hmm flimsy grounds for sacking someone I would think. I'd say he'll be looking for his wages to be paid.
scumbag has been upsetting the dressing room big time , trying to get other players to go to bohs  what an absolute ******** .He was treated very well here by DUFC and its fans .Let him go to the rat .

Nothing flimsy about it .The whole story will come out soon .

Drogs and Cork falling apart is not good for Irish football in Europe.
Pats and Bohs are good representatives to have in Europe and (footballing Gods, forgive me for saying this) I hope Derry qualify too. The 4th team could be a very dodgy team at European level and cost the league coefficient points, like Cork did this season.

Legally justified? You'd want to have some very strong evidence and even then if the correct procedures weren't followed it'd be unfair dismissal. These things rarely work out in favour of the employer.

isn't it amazing the way players start getting sacked when clubs find themselves in trouble off the field!!

Drogs chairman Vincent Hoey is a solicitor , Im sure he has concrete reasons for sacking him.

True, I'd forgotten that fact. It'll be interesting to see the full story if it comes out.

It's despicable.
I wonder what Stephen McGuinness will have to say about this.
Mercenary players like Stuey Byrne are the reason clubs are in such financial trouble.

That I pray!
With our squad at present I cannot honestly say that I would take many players from any other side in the league, especially from midfield positions. With Cronin, O'Donnell, Deegan, Rossi, Brennan, A. Murphy, Joxer, T. Heary all capable players I'm not sure who I would take out for Stuey Byrne.

Stephen "Judas" "Mr Unfinished Business" McGuinness was the biggest mercenary of them all. Nearly bled us dry in his playing days
Stephen Kenny looking to sign him just to knock the head off his shoulders for his famous rant on tele

Indeed. Cause there's no precendent for players being sacked this season then winning large amounts in compensation at trubunals :) This is the LOI, I wouldn't be surprised if he was sacked cause he threw a cream bun at someone on an away trip ;)

Please come home Stuey!!
Exactly my feelings. Please go home Stuey!

He might be slower than usual to go to the media about this issue.
Does he get paid per word he is quoted in the media?
Longfordian

He started out at Bohs, that's his home! Or Shels maybe seeing as he was so passionate about them in his time there. I don't think we could afford him somehow.

Who other than bohs now would take somone so unprofessional? Allegiances are left at the door when their meant to be playing for another club, what he has done is a disgrace to his profession and hopefully he won't find employment for a long time so he realises how he has acted.

isn't it amazing the way players start getting sacked when clubs find themselves in trouble off the field!!:confused:Well in fairness SMorgan, Doolin sacked Keith Fahey before our league winning season. We had few off field problems then.

If he's trying to prise players away from a club while they're under a contract that's being honoured by the club, i.e. wages being paid on time etc. then it's pretty much the same as another club trying to unsettle contracted players which is a real no-no.
Therefore the Drogs are 100% within their rights to sack him on this one!
I'll phone Tony Cousins to pick him up, :)
I assume he'll be heading for Richmond park? Can't see the money or the welcome being available anywhere else....

I still think it might be difficult to prove, is he not allowed to ever mention Bohs when talking to fellow players?. I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Unless he's been making offers to them on Bohs' behalf and they can prove it?.

That's how Nutsy works.
I'm fairly sure a certain Bohs player was talking to a certain Shels player for Nutsy before the start of this season but what can you do.
You can't prove anything so you can't really say anything or do anything! Even in the uk with all their money and media circus it goes on.
If it's true I like what Drogheda have done but I can't see them being able to prove anything and can see them having to pay Byrne off. Had dropped down the pecking order at Drogheda it seems as anytime I watch he's either on the wing or right back or anywhere other than his best position.
This Droghedas way of easing the financial woes ?

Try this. Preaching about Stephen Kennys actions but if this is true about Byrnes behaviour he is a total waste of space.
