as far as i know the only points park have dropped was a draw at home to shannon town who were the better team that day too, seems to be the story of towns season so far, being the better side but unable to get the results against the top sides in the league. having played park & shels id say park are the better team, younger, better footballers but shels have lots of experience which counts for alot.

my brother plays for shels and i have seen them play a few times.2 good centre halves and experience in mid field.they were missing 5 regular starters against shannon town.Heard one of there centre halves got a bad knock on the head.Shannon town have a very good young lad on the wing.he is to good for division 4

ya, shels are handy but thier right back will cost them goals this season. the same winger for shn town skint him a good few times last sunday "including 2 nutmegs" so they'll have to sort that out. right full also very prone to lunging into tackle when he has no chance of getting the ball.

I dont think its fair to single 1 player out of a team, its a team performance not about individuals, any player can get nutmegged you see it with the pros weekly!

i'm not trying to put the player down just saying i think he is dodgy. some of the lunges last sunday were mental, all he had to do was stay on his feet but he flew in every time trying to do the man, lucky for the player to be way to quick for him, anyway the must have been about 25 years in age difference.

lads ye are talking about division 4a here . plenty of players dive in / lunge and a good few are 2 slow to do it also it is not right to judge players on 1 game also we all had those days were everything goes wrong no matter how hard you try :D... alright doing nutmegs but must have been no end product to forwards as shelbourne won game ...:ball:

ok, but still think he'll cost them goals and maybe a couple of games cos some refs will send players to the line if they see them sort of reckless/wreched challanges. anyway enough.

Was talking to the Park manager they have played 7 won 5 and drew 2
its a miss print on the table they have no losses and have 17pts.
They drew with Shels Sunday and he said both teams had a off day and a draw was the fair result.I think it will be down to the last game of the season with the top 4 teams in the table all having a great chance.

Any predictions for the Shannon Town v Park game on at the weekend????

it should go ahead as the weather has been grand recently but the pitch aint great so i doubt it will be much of a spectacle, park would have to be favourites but it was very tight between the 2 teams down at riverside with town maybe edging it on the balance of play, id say it will be another draw and hopefully it turns out to be a good game

There isn't usually much football played in theses games, typically hard fought local derby game, no doubt plenty of bookings and lads kicking lumps out of eachother, especially with the pitch the way it is.

The league table makes good reading with it being so close at the top.

Shannon Town shaded the first half, there werent many chances created in the 1st 45.

Park went ahead through James Fitzgerald when hesitant goalkeeping from the goalkeeper alloed for a simple tap in. Dave Magee got the other 2 after replacing Gavin Lundy, the first was a through ball from the half way line from Daisy Halpin, and was slotted in to make it 2-0 and the third followed after a blocked shot, Magee took a touch and fired in off the far post.

I'd say so, Park got back to winning ways yesterday at home to Athlunkard, playing Newport on Thursday week.

Does anyone have the remaining fixtures for the top 4 in the league?

Park -

Home: Mungret, Newport, Shels, Holycross,

Away: Lisnagry, Mungret, Holycross, Parkville

Not an easy run in at all, but the big games at the top are at home.

Park v Newport tomorrow night in Shannon.... any predictions?

Great win for Park last night, Shels took an early lead, though the goal did have a strong hint of offside about it.

James Fitz was taken down in the box not long after the Shels goal and Gavin Lundy stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way. Lundy got his second after the keeper made a save and he followed it in bravely.

Dave Magee got the third after being played through and dinked it past the keeper into the bottom corner.

James Fitz rounded off the scoring with a curler into the top corner just before the end, a great performance by Park in all areas of the pitch and looked really strong.

From what i've seen they will be hard to stop.

Park and Newport still looking like they are the two to be promoted? Haven't looked at the table in a while.

Not the best conditions to play in but Park stuck at it and got a big big win.

Park took an early lead through a close range finish from Sean Lindsey, Newport replied tens minutes later when an unstoppable drive was unleahed from 30 yards and flew into the top corner. Newport then went ahead after sloppy defending and a the Newport striker finished as Park failed to clear.

Dave Magee came on for Gavin Lundy at half time and Park enjoyed the majority of possession and got the equaliser as Sean Lindsey got his 2nd of the game.

Dave Magee scored yet again after a kickout from the keeper bounced and he slotted past the Newport keeper from about 18 yards.

Big big win for Park and possibly a big psychological boost before the vital league game in the coming weeks. Another good performance from Park and look to be getting stronger as the season draws to a close.

Park are at home to St. Paul's in the cup.... any predictions for that one and also for the league?

so park cleaned up in this league, will they be signing anyone decent for next year???,, not much difference in quality in the lower leauges so they should be challenging for honours with the squad they had last year
