Great news! Hope he gets a good run in the team now!

according to this wikipedia page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...gue_hat-tricks - it's only Robbie Keane (VS Everton, Wolves and 4 VS Burnley) and Leon Best
scored one in the championship (then division one) VS Stockport: http://www.soccerbase.com/results3.sd?gameid=249457
Big Niall scored 3 in one game, while at Sunderland in the EPL.
That's an incredible statistic if its true. Well done Leon, have a few lemonades tonight to celebrate...
Didn't there used to be a lad on here that new him when he played for Forest or something - does he still post here?
There'll be dancing in the clubs of Newcastle tonight...
Delighted for Nottingham's finest. Atta boy, Leon!
Hopefully this isn't his goalscoring run for the season & that he goes on to prove that his performance tonight wasn't a flash in the pan. Fair play to him though.

"We lost because we didn't win"- Ronaldo
Well, they signed Ben Arfa today, who looks a player, Carroll is a bit tricky to drop, but after that, Ameobi is decent but not a fixture either and Best was selected ahead of Ranger tonight, with Pardew saying Best is the better option as a player. Pardew also said in post match he had pushed for a start, got one and nailed a hat trick, so hopefully its the start of him becoming an established Prem srtiker.
But we will see.
Apparently Chris Hughton took a lot of stick from the board for signing him.

The Newcastle fans I know absolutely hated him before today. I guess because he's not a high profile player it wasn't properly communicated that he'd been recovering from a long-term injury, and people figured he was just cashing his cheque. Gibson's in a similar situation at Man United. Judging by the standing ovation he got tonight I'd wager they've changed their tune.
Was looking through my vids of him and can confirm he scored one for Man City against Crystal Palace on April 1st, 1991 in the top flight, obviously pre-Premier League though. Can't remember what its called but he got one with his left, one with his right, and one with his head.

Fair play to him. Hopefully he can kick on and keep scoring.
Well taken hatrick, though the most skillful thing he did was that header in the build-up to the last goal.
Similar type player to Walters. It'll be interesting to see the two of them battle for a place in Irish line-up if/when Doyle gets injured. Long is more in the Keane role I think
Folding my way into the big money!!!
