Different leagues altogether so different registrations, then you have a summer league and a winter league,it will never happen.why do they need schoolboys when any decent young player in a schoolboy club in cork will be plucked away to either city or ramblers at youth level.to be honest I don't see ramblers lasting as a LOI club,so they will never need a reserve team, they will loose that sponsor because they don't get coverage because there being beaten every week,so no paper is gonna latch on to report on lack of progress,so the cost won't be sustainable in the long run.

The idea that they shouldn't have schoolboys teams because they'll take players anyway is completely wrong. This has to change. LOI clubs should have structures right up from u7s and the fact that associations condone this is appalling. Winter/summer seasons wouldn't have an impact. Doesn't for their u19 sides, why would it affect a reserve side? They do get coverage in the media, a lot more than non-LOI clubs regardless of the result. Match reports are still in the Echo while most nationals pick up their results.

We asked to start a team in Division 2 but were refused by the MSL.
We badly need a team for our lads who are overage for U19s but not quite ready for the first team squad.
There is a national U17 league starting next August.

The u17 league is a step in the right direction at least. Clubs need reserve sides though for the over 19 players you've mentioned. MSL would suit them perfectly.

May be the players that are overage possibly go back to there respective clubs, and help them out, playing every week for your home Jersey, rather than moping around for city or ramblers reserves getting nowhere, waiting and hoping for a call up,if good enough either club will come again.

Even enough first half, not much in the way of chances for either team.
Carrigaline defended well with Greg marshalling them at the back.
Then despite a quiet game til then Roy Long popped up with 2 in a matter of minutes in the second half.
Graham settled it later with a super strike.

The only worry ahead of the trip to Greystones next week is Podge who was caught late accidentally.

Nope both teams were out warming up and referee pulled it after inspection. Was surprised it was still on after all the rain that fell.

Leeds ran away from ten man Fermoy in the end this morning to win 4-0.

Tough first half, Leeds were better team but Fermoy, missing a few were dogged. Great save by young keeper to keep it at 0-0. Leeds scored early in second half and a lunge by Fermoy CB rightly got a red 10 mins later. Fermoy battled well for a while and had a great chance to make it 1-1 with 15 left, but missed it and Leeds scored not long after. 2 goals in the last few mins were very well taken but the game was well over at that point.
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.
